Episode transcript:

Greetings all, welcome to Aquarian Diary.

I’m your host, John Irving.

It is February 11th, 2024.

There are a lot of major, major changes occurring right now astrologically and over the next couple years. We’re going to have Neptune changing signs. We’re going to have Uranus changing signs. We’re going to have Saturn changing signs. Pluto changing signs alone is huge.

And so this is a really good time to get a lay of the land before these things happen with your own personal astrology.

I know from a lot of people I’m talking to that there are major changes taking place. Often, as expected, people tend to request readings when major things are happening that they don’t understand.

But I would highly encourage you to be proactive and get a reading beforehand so that you have some mental preparation for what might be coming up. It can be extremely helpful. You don’t want to leave it to the last minute. And I do have a special going on right now for readings.

Today I’m going to be talking about some near-term astrology.

I’m going to look at most of the major shifts that occur between now and the Equinox. That’s March 19th or 20th, depending on where you live.

For my calculations I’m using the Eastern Time Zone, and I’m in the Northern Hemisphere.

I have Pisces in the 12th, and so Saturn is transiting my 12th house now. And the 12th house, which I’ve talked a lot about here before, can involve very challenging energies, because in the case of Saturn, for me, it is finishing up a cycle of 28-29 years.

The end of cycles always brings endings, because we are about to begin a new cycle.

So while Saturn has been transiting my 12th, it has been making these challenging aspects to numerous points in my natal chart.

But then recently I was talking to a few people and other people were expressing that they found this period recently very hard. And then I thought, well maybe it’s not just entirely me.

Plus we recently had the shift of Pluto into Aquarius on January 20th, which brings us out of that Pluto in Capricorn energy, which is very hard, because Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and Saturn is not easy or fun or light.

You would naturally expect that the energies would be lighter. And in some ways they have been.

I myself have noticed that kind of on the intuitive and psychic and spiritual levels, the energy is faster and higher. But on the material plane it feels kind of dense.

And I think what’s happening here is that we went through this period of Pluto in Capricorn, which was, and still is in some ways, very traumatic, frightening and disturbing.

And I’ve had the experience before when after going through a very stressful, challenging period, you kind of go through a decompression and you’ve been on edge and in a state of anxiety for a long time. You’re almost like in a state of exhaustion and there’s grief and there’s still lingering fear and trepidation and stuff like that.

Now one of the important things I want to say about this is that with Pluto under the right circumstances can give certain people a lot of power. But there’s also a catch to it. If you abuse that power, it will eventually boomerang upon you. And I did a whole episode on that subtitled “A Karmic Reckoning”.

Most really powerful people in the world have strongly placed Plutos. And if you look at them, a lot of them eventually do have a very dramatic comeuppance or fall from grace.

But that may not happen immediately as soon as say, for example, Pluto shifts into Aquarius.

We have to go through this period of reorientation and then the energies have to kind of settle and we have to get into a new momentum before things really start moving forward.

I anticipate that a lot of people, organizations and groups are going to have a karmic comeuppance over the next year or two and probably starting in 2024.

We have one more period where Pluto will retrograde back into Capricorn from September 1st until November 19th of 2024. So we’re not quite out of the woods yet.

And remember, Capricorn rules those power structures that are part of our reality. So watch over the next year or two or maybe even three. I expect to see that there will be a lot of falls from grace, so to speak.

Now we also have Saturn transiting Pisces for the most part through February of 2026. And this is also a karmic cycle. I did an episode on this and the subtitle of that was “Reality Check”.

This is where we have to get really real about our illusions, delusions, ground our spirituality and clear up any outstanding karma before we begin a new cycle when Saturn moves into Aries.

A lot of this kind of stuff happens on the internal level or on the psychic or intuitive levels.

Contrary to what a lot of people believe, there is a huge amount of what is happening here on Earth that is actually happening in non-material dimensions as well.

And given my recent experiences with my own Saturn transits as it goes through my 12th house, I will have a lot more to say about that soon, but I’ll leave that for another episode.

So let’s look a little bit at some of the near-term events.

I posted on my community tab Friday night about the fact that the Moon will conjunct Saturn February 10th because I wanted people to know a little bit about that. And then I also stated that the Moon would move into Aries on Monday morning, local time, and that that should put a bit of a spring in people’s step. I just wanted to give people a little sense of timing.

But there’s more to this because we’re going to also have the Sun transit Pisces from February 18th. And this is a very internalizing period as well. The Sun is going to be in Pisces where Saturn is transiting now.

And it’s easier to understand this in the Northern Hemisphere, but this is kind of like the deep of winter when we go inwards, we lay low, we regenerate, we recuperate, we process everything that’s happened in the past year. It’s very introspective.

And it’s also more of a dreamy time too. It’s a good time for doing creative things, for doing spiritual work, for doing forms of divination, for renewal and regeneration, for letting go.

Because when the Sun moves into Aries, we get very busy and we need the energy that we can recoup and rejuvenate with during this cycle.

So it’s also a period of endings because it’s the end of an annual cycle.

It’s best not to have a lot of external pressures or stress if it’s possible during this time. Ideally, you’re laying in bed and you’re reading a book. You’re taking it easy. You’re doing self-care. That’s what this period is really about or that’s how it’s best to get through it.

If you’re a creative person, like I said, that energy can be wonderful too because you can channel energies and thoughts and ideas that are very tapped into the zeitgeist.

The 12th house is very much tapped into the global unconscious. But it’s not associated with going out and doing things like weightlifting or something or highly strenuous activities. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t exercise. You probably should, but be easy on yourself.

And let’s look at a few other key points here along the way.

If any of these transits or events are very near or in strong aspect to any of your personal planets or key points, you may want to study them in more detail.

I will be publishing a transcript of this on my website, which I do typically these days. If you want to go through and extract specific dates or information, you can do it there. I will usually put the transcript up within an hour or so of publishing the episode.

First of all, no retrogrades. That’s notable. It’s a bit unusual. This means that things are going to be moving forward very quickly whether we realize it or not. And it may feel like time has sped up a bit.

On February 14th, Mars will conjunct Pluto at the first degree of Aquarius. Mars combined with Pluto are one of the more dangerous aspects in astrology. This is probably a good time to stay home and not do anything risky or dangerous or put yourself in dangerous situations, or places for that matter.

We may also see some events take place in the world that involve a lot of violence or warfare or something like that because those two energies together are very intense. The power of Pluto and the aggressiveness and warlike energy of Mars. This is brief. This is just probably from the period of around February 12th to 16th.

Then on February 16th, Venus enters Aquarius. This will help lighten all of this heavy energy a bit and bring a bit of that love energy of Venus, that softer energy of Venus, into social concerns.

I’m moving fairly quickly because of time.

On February 18th, the Sun enters Pisces.

On February 19th, the North Node will conjunct Chiron at 16° 45′ of Aries. I’m not going to get into a huge explanation of Chiron here, but it has to do with wounding and in this masculine energy of Aries and the North Node amplifying those energies. This is kind of reflective of what I have been talking about people experiencing. There’s always grief and trauma and pain associated with Chiron.

On February 22nd, Venus conjuncts Mars at 6° 57′ of Aquarius. This can be kind of great sexual energy if that matters to you. It’s the masculine and the feminine coming together.

On February 23rd, Mercury enters Pisces. That amplifies this Pisces energy I’ve been talking about that is emphasized during this period.

On February 24th, there’s a full Moon at 5 degrees 23 minutes of Virgo.

On the same day, Venus will square Jupiter and Taurus, both at 10 degrees 30 minutes.

On the 27th, Mars will square Jupiter at 10° 52′.

Venus and Mars square Jupiter basically really ramps up their energy. There’s the potential for people to go overboard, for things to be over the top. So just watch that you don’t do things that later on you go like, “Oh, what was I thinking or why did I do that?” because the energy can be very exaggerated and not necessarily in a contained way.

On February 28th, Mercury will conjunct the Sun. That brings the mind and the being very closely together. The identity of the two kind of become one, almost indistinguishable, for better or worse.

On the same day at 9° 46′ of Pisces, the Sun will conjunct Saturn. So this period of around the 27th, 28th of February is probably going to be a little period where things feel a little bit more challenging or we feel limited or like we can’t just do what we want to do. We might have to deal with things like responsibilities or duties or attend to affairs we’d rather not attend to. It’s not a great time for doing expansive things. It’s a better time for focus and concentration. This is generally not a fun energy. So around the 27th, 28th, 29th, just be prepared for a bit of that heavier, more responsible and duty-oriented energy.

So then we’re kind of in the clear a bit until March 8th, where Mercury conjuncts Neptune at 27 degrees of Pisces. This can be a very creative and dreamy kind of energy involving our minds and how we think and communicate. But just be aware that whatever you’re thinking or doing at that time may not be particularly grounded and or even based in reality. So it’s a great time for doing something like writing a science fiction novel or writing poetry. But it’s not a good time for being pragmatic or making significant decisions around things like money or signing contracts, because you’ll probably find out later on that it wasn’t based in reality. Also, communications can be a little muddled or confused at this time as well.

On March 9th, the next day, the Sun will sextile Uranus. This is kind of a good energy if you want to shake things up or introduce ideas or thoughts that take you outside the boundaries of the status quo. That’s happening at 19° 51′ of Pisces and Taurus.

On March 9th, Mercury enters Aries. This is the beginning of a new cycle for Mercury. Mercury kind of comes out of that dreamy, fantastical Piscean energy and into the energy of Aries, which is all about doing things and starting things and being bold and self-assertive. It’s kind of like going from neutral into overdrive very quickly with mind and communication type things.

On March 10th, there’s a New Moon at 20 degrees of Pisces. If this New Moon hits a personal planet very closely, it can be quite significant. New Moons are about the very, very beginning stages of new cycles and new beginnings.

On March 11th, Venus enters Pisces where it is exalted. This means that the energy of Venus really likes to be in Pisces and it is a wonderful time for self-care, enjoyment, a bit of self-indulgence, positive expression, embodying very loving kind of energy. Venus rules love and love can be very easily expressed in this Piscean energy because there’s very few boundaries. That’s one of the downsides is that you have to be careful with your boundaries in the 12th house. But this is overall a lovely energy, especially for the things that I’ve already described Pisces being beneficial for.

On March 17th, the Sun conjuncts Neptune at 27° 21′ of Pisces. Similar to the Mercury conjunct Neptune transit I already talked about a few minutes ago, with Sun-Neptune aspects, we can lose our sense of identity.

These things happen every year. These aren’t necessarily life-changing transits I’m talking about here. But just be aware that one can kind of lose themselves a bit when the Sun conjuncts Neptune, say from March 16th to the 18th. It’d be a great time for doing spiritual work or dissolving egoic attachments or completely revising or revamping one’s sense of identity.

But this isn’t typically a good transit for getting things done. It’s not about work, work, work. It’s just about being. And like I said, maybe tapping into the higher dimensions. It’s not about physical vitality and energy.

If you’re at all intuitive or psychic with the Sun and other planets transiting Pisces, we tend to be more open psychically during this time. Myself, I have a daily energetic hygiene regimen that I practice. And I just want to make this comment that it’s probably a good idea to be doing something like that to protect yourself energetically simply because we are just more vulnerable. We’re more open psychically during this time.

On March 19th, the Sun enters Aries and this is the beginning of a new cycle. So don’t expect things to happen instantly, but you’ll feel the vitality of the Sun as it moves into Aries. And it’s a great time to start things or to start implementing things or taking action. In the world at large, things should start picking up steam.

The gist of all this is that energies and things are really going to start picking up and moving forward in an active way come March 19th. So we shouldn’t be expecting too much of ourselves between now and then.

If you’re creative, if you’re an artist or a musician or a writer, this could be a fantastic time for those kinds of activities. Or if you’re involved in spiritual activities or if you do things like divination, absolutely. Just do your best practices for staying grounded and keeping your energy clear.

One more comment on all of this. There’s an awful lot of calculations I made here. If it turns out that any of them proved to be off or wrong, or I made a typo, I will make a note in the comments section or my Errata page. I wouldn’t be surprised if I screwed up somewhere, but we’ll see.

Saturn, Chiron, Collective Trauma and Darkness

I discuss why we need to more openly address our individual and collective wounding, and to do so courageously, in order to free us from cycles of trauma.

I present this through the lens of the astrology of Saturn, Chiron and Pisces or the 12th house, and dark psychic or occult experiences.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all, welcome to Aquarian Diary.

I’m your host, John Irving.

It is January 28th, 2024.

What I’m going to talk about here today may seem a little bit out of left field.

I actually have a long list of really interesting topics I want to publish. I’ve gotten a lot of downloads recently, many of which are really interesting.

Especially in the last half of 2023, I had a lot of challenging Saturn transits. A whole slew of them. And Saturn is transiting my 12th house, which in and of itself is rather challenging. So it’s been very hard and very interesting at the same time.

Now one of those transits that has been going on has been transiting Saturn conjuncting my natal Chiron. Natal Chiron in Pisces in the 12th. If you’re a student of astrology, you’ll have a sense of what that’s about.

This is an underrated transit in terms of its effects. This is very much a kind of “woe is me” period and it can be very emotionally debilitating. And it can feel like the world is against you.

This only happens every 28 or 29 years. So it’s not common.

Chiron represents our core wounding, whether we are aware of it or not. This wounding is often associated with traumas that occurred in our formative years, typically with family, who we also have a lot of karma with. But it also deals with past life traumas and wounding. It’s a wound that we can never get rid of, but that we can heal.

And as one matures and we have mastered that wounding, there’s the potential for us to help others who have suffered similar wounding, to become the wounded healer. That’s a real nutshell explanation.

One of the things about our core wounding is that we tend not to want to look at it because it is too provocative or triggering. Most of us prefer to have pleasant experiences. Of course. Why would we want to suffer?

And yet, if we don’t confront our wounding, it will victimize us and limit our potential. And it’ll keep getting triggered and showing up in all kinds of weird ways.

And the less conscious we are of our wounding, the less we have mastered it, the more vulnerable we are to it disrupting our life and our potential.

So ultimately, if we want to ascend, we have to confront our wounding or do our shadow work, however you want to phrase it. It’s absolutely critical.

I’ve had that experience many times where I have been cruising along thinking everything is great and then something will trigger me and it will throw me off course.

When Saturn makes aspects to Chiron, it demands that we approach our wounding in a very realistic, practical and mature way. Saturn does not let us off the hook.

Now I’m not young, so I have had this transit occur before.

When Saturn conjuncts your Chiron, it’s not pleasant because a lot of your wounding will be triggered and brought into your conscious awareness. And like I said, most of us don’t like to focus on these kinds of things.

It’s not fun. It’s difficult. It’s threatening. It’s disturbing. It’s uncomfortable. Who wants to be weak and vulnerable?

That’s the core of this experience, is recognizing your weakness and your vulnerability.

But then the question is, what do you do about it?

If you’re more mature, and I am at least by age, then you confront your wounding and your weaknesses and your vulnerabilities honestly and directly. The more confident and fearless you are about doing that, the more you will get done.

Now the 12th house, where this is occurring for me, can deal with a lot of the non-material aspects of reality.

So this can be like tapping into the collective trauma or wounding of society and reality. And there’s a lot of darkness there. There’s a lot of fear. There’s a lot of trauma.

Why am I explaining all this?

Because it’s drawn to my awareness how our society tends to avoid dealing with or confronting or even acknowledging these kinds of matters.

Take for example how we deal with things like homelessness. Right now there are people on the streets who at some point in the past had a family, a career, a three-bedroom home in the suburbs, and then they find themselves in circumstances where they lose everything and they have no choice but to live on the streets.

It could be because, for example, they couldn’t pay medical bills or they got bankrupted because of a health condition or something like that. Or maybe they had psychological problems or drug addiction or whatever it was.

And then our culture in many ways just kind of pretends that this isn’t actually happening, that that can’t happen to me, which is one of the ways that this gets perpetuated – this cycle – because nobody wants to think that that could happen to them.

Or we victim blame, which is a very low consciousness projection.

But my whole point is that at some point a lot of these people were just like us, and then they find themselves in these extremely challenging, difficult, and uncomfortable situations. And we as a society kind of sweep them under the rug, if not criminalize them.

And this is a very profound disservice and injustice to these people. It’s like kicking them when they’re down. It’s horrible.

These are the most vulnerable people in our society. And the true measure of our society is how we treat our most vulnerable people. If we do not treat them with respect and compassion, we are not an evolved society, regardless of what anyone says.

There are many seniors right now who retired thinking that they had enough money to survive through their retirement years. And because of inflation and higher interest rates, the skyrocketing cost of housing and health care, they’re finding that they’re not prepared in a way they thought they were. So these people, in fact, are now becoming vulnerable and marginalized as well. Many of them.

But this also occurs on the spiritual dimensions, where people who have experiences with dark psychic phenomenon are marginalized, rejected, or ostracized.

We portray these kinds of things a lot in film, think the horror genre. And people are fascinated by this, of course.

But in reality, people who experience these kinds of things can’t talk about it because they will be perceived as being crazy or threatened with being locked up in an institution.

Some people are mentally unstable. Let’s be clear about that. But not everyone.

And I myself have had many, many encounters with the darker aspects of reality for whatever reason going back to my childhood. And I have personally taken measures over the years to protect myself from those kinds of situations. I think it’s just simply because I’m psychically open or wired in a lot of ways that allows me to be able to perceive these kinds of things.

So what I’m saying is that sometimes these things are real.

I’m explaining all this because there needs to be a place for people who experience these kinds of things to be able to share those experiences and learn how to manage them without fear of being ostracized or stigmatized.

In fact, the worst thing that can happen here is that these people get increasingly isolated. You do not want to be in a state of fear when you are confronting these kinds of energies. It makes you more vulnerable.

My point is that people these days are more open about psychic phenomenon. This is something that we can’t explain scientifically or completely rationally. The majority of people are in complete denial about this kind of stuff.

Let’s face it, in the not too distant past, if not still to this day, people who experienced these kinds of things would have been thrown into mental institutions if not burned at the stake. That’s how bad it is.

People who are prone to these kinds of things need to learn ways of dealing with them that are constructive and positive. And that is possible. But it’s not likely to occur if our society just completely rejects the reality of this.

I am not in any way condoning darkness or the deliberate pursuit of it at all. I myself have made a solemn oath to be aligned with the path of light and truth. I am unwaveringly committed to that path, period.

However, we are not being of service to our brothers and our sisters if we deny their experiences and stigmatize them.

Now some people are having these kinds of experiences for karmic reasons, but even that can be addressed.

So I’m sharing this today, rather unexpectedly, because it came up for me very clearly and I had some insights into this that I wanted to share with you. It’s an uncomfortable topic, but it’s something that ultimately our society will need to confront in a constructive, compassionate way.

We are all members of the human family, and it behooves us, for all of us, to be uplifted and healed.

There is collective karma and trauma that humanity has to resolve or it will continue to occur, and the vast majority of us do not want to continue experiencing collective trauma, whether it’s through war or on the psychic levels.

Part of our collective upliftment in the Aquarian age will be for those who have the courage and the fortitude and the wisdom to help humanity to constructively move forward on these levels. So we have to help anyone in need, and I have made the point here before that we need to help our most vulnerable people.

Pretending that they don’t exist or that their reality is invalid is choosing ignorance and its folly.

In the episode description, I will link to some other episodes I have published that are related to this theme.

Again, for more detail, check the episode description for other episodes or articles that are related or that I mentioned.

Saturn transit Pisces – Reality Check: 2023-2026

I discuss the astrology of the transit of the planet Saturn through the sign of Pisces, which occurs between March of 2023 and early 2026.

This is a transcript of an episode of Aquarian Diary I published on February 10, 2023.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all, it is February 10, 2023.

Saturn has been transiting Aquarius roughly from 2020 through 2023. On March 7 of 2023, Saturn will commence transiting Pisces through early 2026.

If you’re watching this on YouTube, you can find dates on the screen.

This is a significant shift of energies for a variety of reasons, and this shift will occur roughly around the timeframe of Pluto beginning its transit of Aquarius, which I have talked a lot about in other episodes.

Let’s concentrate here on how Saturn transiting Pisces might affect us and the world.

Saturn deals with reality, responsibility, and karma. It is the opposite of rose-colored glasses. Often under hard or challenging Saturn transits we are forced to confront reality as it is versus how we would prefer or like it to be.

So, for example, if we have overextended ourselves financially, we may find ourselves in situations where we have to deal with that reality very pragmatically.

Saturn does not let us off the hook easily. It does not let us escape our responsibilities or duties or obligations based on wishful thinking or avoidance, and it holds us and others accountable for their actions, and that is why Saturn is considered to be very karmic.

Someone engaged in dishonorable or unethical activities may not find this influence pleasant. Think of Saturn like a judge. But it can reward those who have accepted their duties and responsibilities and acted admirably and with integrity. It can give them more power, influence or authority.

Pisces, where Saturn will be commencing its transit, is a very non-material energy. The negative expression of that energy can be illusion, delusion, fantasy, escapism, using things like drugs and alcohol to escape reality, avoiding responsibility.

Traditionally the 12th house, which Pisces rules, was considered the house of self-undoing. In Pisces there can be issues with boundaries, because Pisces doesn’t really have boundaries. And that lack of boundaries can create conditions where webs of lies and deceit can occur, even on a grand scale. Mass deception, mass delusion, mass fantasy.

I don’t mean to suggest that Pisces is inherently dark, it is not, quite the opposite. It is just very ethereal, and if not grounded, can result in the kind of things I’ve been talking about. So being grounded is a challenge for Pisces. And there are many people who have no qualms about taking advantage of that kind of influence to manipulate other people for their own benefit.

The positive expression of it can be tapping into the non-material dimensions of realities, spirituality, and those kinds of experiences. And it can also be a very creative energy because we can channel higher dimensional energy into the material realm. Many notable performers and entertainers, for example, have Piscean influences because they are able to tap into the collective unconscious and express and reflect that back to humanity. Thus their work can resonate with many people simultaneously, on a mass level. Whether what they reflect is real or not is a different question.

Pisces also has kind of a dissolving quality, where arbitrary and outmoded structures can simply collapse due to the influx of all this non-material energy. People think that reality is very hard and fixed, when in fact viewed from higher dimensions, it is rather a physical manifestation of non-material consciousness.

Pisces can also be very compassionate and empathic, and it is very frequently associated with things like psychic, intuitive and spiritual phenomenon.

Pisces is also the last sign of the Zodiac, so it’s the sign of endings. Aries, the following sign, is the sign of new beginnings. So everything ends in Pisces, inevitably.

So Saturn, the task master, is going to be entering Pisces. So how will this manifest? What will we experience and what will we witness?

I think this is something we should very much welcome in many ways because it can ground our idealism and our spirituality, make them very tangible and help us sort the wheat from the chaff, what’s real from what isn’t. And I would say the world desperately needs a dose of that. Pisces because it covers things like delusion and insanity, where people are extremely ungrounded and not dealing with reality, in the case of the lower expression of these energies. Saturn should bring a reality check to a lot of things like mass delusion, propaganda, unhinged conspiracy theories, lies and deception, which we have been plagued with, especially for the past decade or so.

I would argue that misinformation, disinformation, and mass delusion are probably one of the most significant features of recent history, and one of the most dangerous, because humanity has to make a lot of very important decisions that will significantly influence us and future generations as well as the planet. we can’t do that on the basis of BS.

If you’ve listened to me before, you will know that I detest lies. And Saturn will help us deal with that.

So I would expect to see commencing in March, which, like I said, also happens to be when Pluto begins its epic transit of Aquarius, that we will see the beginning of a period of reality check.

And that will include, by the way, institutions like the Church or religious organizations because these pursuits fall under the umbrella of Pisces in many ways, as we seek to connect to and understand the divine aspects of our experience.

As Saturn transits Pisces, it will form a challenging square to Sagittarius and Gemini, Sagittarius specifically ruling things like religion and philosophy, and Gemini ruling communication. So it will be challenging in many regards to those kinds of institutions.

The symbol for Pisces is the two fishes. And Pisces has long been associated with Christianity, which has played a very prominent role during the age of Pisces, which is at its final stages now. But Pisces in many ways rules all large religious organizations. And historically when Saturn has transited Pisces, it has represented a challenging period for those institutions. There can be a crisis of faith. As I myself have talked about here before, recent history has raised many questions about what types of movements and people religious groups have aligned themselves with that are often hypocritical based on spiritual values.

Also during this period, Saturn will be opposing Virgo. One of the areas that Virgo covers, or the sixth house which it rules, includes nurses, doctors, and healthcare workers. And we have had many challenges in those areas due to burnout, lack of staffing, chronic underfunding, and so forth. and I would expect that to be a significant issue in the next two or three years.

I think also in the spiritual community and with things like psychics and readers and prominent spiritual leaders or figures, people should be holding themselves to a very high standard to ensure that the quality of the information they’re conveying is accurate and based on truth as much as possible, because Saturn is ruthlessly honest and will hold anyone or anything to account that is not reflecting truth or reality accurately. So I would expect to see a lot of scandals emerge and truth begin to emerge about how institutions and organizations or prominent figures in our cultures have been misleading people, probably deliberately, a lot of secrets will be brought into the open, and we will go through this period of reality check cleansing and karmic reckoning for those who have abused spiritual laws or who have engaged in mass deception, propaganda, disinformation and misinformation. That, to me, is going to be a very good thing. In fact, traditionally, the 12th house, which Pisces rules, was associated with imprisonment and prisons.

You know, Saturn is a very discipline-oriented planet. Personally, I do not have a problem with spiritual discipline. I have engaged in many spiritual activities that require discipline, and I actually enjoy that and find it very rewarding. So this does not concern me at all.

There’s going to be a big reality check, scrutinizing and cross-examination of a lot of our beliefs and whether they are based on truth and reality or not. So Saturn is there to keep us in check and from going off the deep end, which we seem to have done in an epic way in recent years, with the proliferation of BS which I despise, and it will help us deal with that, thankfully. Especially, like I said, coupled with the extremely important transit of Pluto through Aquarius, commencing in just over a month. Very exciting times.

Now let’s take a quick look at how this transit will affect other signs. You’ll need to know where your planets and points are positioned in order to do this, meaning you’ll have to have access to your astrology chart. You may also want to look at the ruler of the 12th house as well as where Neptune and Saturn occur in your chart.

In terms of challenging aspects, Saturn will be squaring the Sagittarius-Gemini axis, and squares can be quite frustrating, and it will be opposing Virgo, and the opposition can also be very challenging. Obviously, Saturn will conjunct any points in Pisces during this time. For more positive effects, Saturn will be trining Scorpio and Cancer, that is a strengthening aspect, and it will sextile Capricorn and Taurus. That is also a strengthening aspect, although it may require a little bit more effort to materialize than the trine, which comes with more ease.

These are just the major or Ptolemaic aspects I am discussing here. Generally, if you have abided by Saturn’s terms, which are integrity and duty, and not cutting corners, it should be easier for you than if you you haven’t, regardless of the transit.

There are far too many factors and variables in a personal astrology chart than I could possibly ever cover here, so it depends entirely on your personal natal chart configuration and what other transits happen to be occurring at the same time. Most of what you will read about or hear online deals with sun sign astrology alone, which is only a small fraction of the actual circumstances that need to be considered. There’s generally some truth to it, of course, but it’s only one piece of the puzzle.

We can say fairly confidently that those people affected by the conjunction, opposition, or squares may face some challenges. Again, that would be Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Gemini. Between March of this year and February 2026.

Finally, Neptune, the modern ruler of Pisces, governs the collective, unseen forces, and the immune system. It also governs international and foreign affairs, including things like travel. With Saturn transiting and challenging this area, I would not be surprised if the challenges related to global health on a mass scale persist and linger. Saturn demands strict discipline, and many people have been resistant to disciplining themselves out of frustration, ignorance, laziness, gullibility to misinformation, or narcissism.

I want to add here that I find this sort of exercise very challenging and frustrating. And that is because I really dislike things that are superficial, and our world seems to be exceedingly superficial these days. To do this topic justice would require days of work, and I simply do not have that amount of time that I can afford to devote to this at my disposal, unfortunately. There is a lot more that I could have included here and would have liked to.

Be that as it may, I do want to, at the same time, draw people’s attention to this because I think some of the implications are definitely worth being aware of.

Take care, I look forward to your amazing comments as usual, and will talk to you again soon.

Living with Neptune – Transit and Natal

I discuss what it is like to experience significant Neptune astrological transits and how to manage them.

This may also apply if you have a powerfully placed Neptune in your natal astrology birth chart, such as Neptune on an angle, in the 12th house, or have a Pisces Sun. Or if you have had, or have, psychic or intuitive experiences.

This is a transcript of an episode of Aquarian Diary I published on February 18, 2023.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all, welcome to Aquarian Diary, I’m your host, John Irving.

It is February 18th, 2023.

I recently published an episode titled “The Stunning Transit of Neptune in Aries: 2025-2039” and then someone with Neptune squaring their Sun commented and described what they were experiencing. Of course, I felt a lot of empathy for that having gone through that transit myself. And I thought, “Oh, well, I should do an episode on this, because I can share my experience and maybe help others.” And it is one of my sincerest heart’s desires to be of meaningful service to others.

What I described in the Neptune transit Ares episode may have sounded a bit scary, and I didn’t want to go too far down that rabbit hole in terms of my own personal experience because it would be time consuming. I did not intend on leaving an overly negative impression of Neptune transits, so I want to delve into that more deeply.

What I’m going to discuss here today will also apply if someone has a powerfully placed Neptune, or for example sun in Pisces, or 12th house. Strong moon aspects, likewise. Pisces moon, moon in 12th. Strong aspects between the moon and Neptune. Powerfully placed moons, etc. The moon is very sensitive and receptive.

Many, many people with strong psychic abilities have powerfully placed Neptunes. Neptune on the Midheaven, for example, is associated with people who can channel. Neptune is a gateway to the non-material realms of consciousness and other non-physical or non-material dimensions. There are too many possible combinations to mention here and keep this brief at the same time.

Most of the significant spiritual periods or experiences I have had personally have coincided with Neptune transits. Absolutely without doubt, no question. But there are some caveats. There always seems to be caveats with Neptune transits.

In evolutionary astrology, there is a fascinating concept which, briefly, states that astrology and astrological transits will play out and be experienced differently depending on the evolutionary state of the person in question. So somebody who is more highly evolved may experience things differently than someone who isn’t. The following may resonate with some people and to others not at all.

These are very spiritualizing influences. They’re not about material reality. On the spiritual dimensions, there is no time, there is no money, there is no job or career, there are no limitations, as far as we would commonly understand them here anyway. Physicality is optional, it’s not about tangible material things.

Of course pragmatically we have to deal with such constraints while we are incarnate on Earth, and Earth does not actually reflect the higher dimensions accurately, in very many ways at all. That is why these kinds of influences can be so inscrutable, confusing, and challenging, because we are dealing with radically different dimensions. And that is why a lot of people under these influences can seek out forms of escapism. It’s entirely understandable.

So here’s a few pragmatic suggestions if you’re going through a challenging Neptune transit. Like a square conjunction or opposition, like a square to your sun or a square to one of your personal planets, or even a trine or a sextile.

Number one, recognize that you will likely be much more psychically open than normal. You may be much more sensitive energetically to influences around you. That includes people, places, and things. Because of that, you can also be more vulnerable. I honestly think that we experience these kinds of things all the time. It’s just that under a Neptune transit you can be much more sensitive to it because you’re aware of it on some level. So it behooves you to avoid negative people and negative places and negative situations if you can.

There’s also a tendency to be more gullible because you are more open. So you want to be careful about being around people who will abuse your trust, mislead you, lie to you, deceive you, and so on. It’s a good idea if possible, say you have to – I don’t know, sign a contract – get someone who’s in a more grounded state, someone like a Capricorn, to look it over for you. Because on the spiritual dimensions there is no theft or lies or deceit. But in practical reality that happens all the time.

Spiritual practice can really be elevated under these kinds of influences. So if you meditate or do some form of yoga or have some kind of spiritual discipline, it’s an excellent time to engage in those kinds of activities.

Your psychic and intuitive powers will also be amplified, most likely. So you can do things like keep a dream journal, you might practice divination, tarot card readings, something like that.

Again, you have to be careful not to over-idealize certain types of people, like spiritual figures or leaders. You want to be careful not to give away your power too much and later on find out that you went too far down some rabbit hole with something like an ideology.

Being grounded is extremely helpful. Being in nature, walking on the earth, being in the water, taking salt baths, taking showers to help cleanse your energy field. Very helpful.

You may want to get some grounding crystals like tourmaline or some protective crystals like various forms of quartz that you can wear or carry in your pocket.

Again, you want to try and make sure that the people who you are around are sincere and caring, honest and kind, good-hearted people as much as possible.

It is a very dematerializing kind of energy, so if possible don’t worry too much about excessively materialistic things like career and wealth generation, I’m not saying to stop pursuing your career, I’m just saying that this energy is not about the material realms. So ideally you’re living a simple life where you have your essentials, you can focus on your spiritual practice, your inner work, and your own spiritual evolution.

Because another aspect of this is that it’s not particularly supportive of physical drive, ambition, and energy. You may find that you need to sleep a lot more than you normally do, and dream time can be amazing, so you need lots of rest and rejuvenation and to, if possible, minimize the stress and physical demands as much as possible.

If you do creative work, say you’re an artist of some kind, or a creator, this can be a very inspired influence. You can channel ideas and expressions that may go beyond what you normally could do. So it’s an excellent influence for any kind of creative endeavors.

It is an excellent time to be doing any kind of selfless service. Because on the spiritual dimensions, that’s a core principle. Selfless love, volunteering, or working with people who are struggling in some way, charitable activities and those kinds of things, it can be extremely rewarding. And good karma.

I found personally that I used a lot of techniques with Kundalini Yoga and many other forms of energetic hygiene, reinforcement and protection that I employed on a daily basis during that time, and still do often. Ages ago I did an episode on this, it’s not very polished, but you can find that early on in my channel. There are tons of techniques and methods out there for doing energetic clearing and protection, and I highly recommend that. Because you’re kind of energetically porous when you’re open like this, and you can collect psychic impressions and influences from your environment and from other people that you need to be constantly clearing from your energy field.

You can actually kind of get confused at times about which energies are yours. Are they yours or someone else’s? Did you absorb them from your environment? So clearing your energy field and clearing the energy field of your immediate environment like your apartment or your house is highly advised as far as I’m concerned.

You may find it difficult to be in environments where there’s too much energy like busy streetscapes or crowded places or concerts or something like that or even things like shopping malls because you will just pick up way too much energy that can be difficult to manage. That is one of the reasons the 12th house, which Neptune rules, is associated with seclusion, because often people who pursue a spiritual path find it too difficult to deal with all of the energies of the world, so they go off and try and seek a place where that energy and external influences are minimized. I’m not saying you need to become a monk or a hermit, but just think about that in the context of your own experience.

I personally found that even excessive noise was very irritating to me, and of course there’s a lot of that in the city. For example, you may find it easier to live in a more rural area. When I was going through this experience, I remember leaving the city and coming back, and I could feel the energy of the city from about 40 miles away. And as I approached the city the energy intensified. And the inverse was true. I could feel that when I got about 30 or 40 miles outside the city the energy was much calmer. Again, I’m not saying go move to the country, but you will be feeling whatever energies are around you.

I would also recommend keeping as clean and healthy a diet as you possibly can. I’m not suggesting everyone needs to become vegetarian, but you are more sensitive than normal to any kind of substances. So things like sugar and caffeine or even things like meat or fish or poultry may affect you more than normal because you absorb the energy of anything you consume.

Also I found personally that I was more sensitive to chemicals, you know, chemical perfumes, cleaning chemicals, anything harsh or strong, I found quite repulsive.

Also, I think it’s very important to be aware of what your mind is focused on, because you are operating in more subtle realms. Your thoughts tend to have more power or influence over your experience. So if you focus on something dark or negative, it’s amplified. And we have the capacity to draw things to us based on our energetic state or consciousness. And that could be something as simple as what you’re reading, a movie that you’re watching, or whatever. Again, your mind is operating on a much bigger level. There are no borders or boundaries on the spiritual dimensions. Time and space do not exist.

I would be misleading you and it wouldn’t be honest if I did not state that the challenging aspects can be challenging for money. I think based on everything I’ve said that should be fairly self-evident. However, this is a dematerializing, anti-egoic, spiritual influence. I’m not suggesting you’re going to go broke.

However, in my own case, I had a very strong impression for months before Neptune squared my sun that I should change my lifestyle and I should go zen, get a small little apartment somewhere, very simple, very clean, all white, everything clean, simple. And to do that I would have had to downsize and get rid of a lot of stuff. And at the time my intellect was arguing with me going like, “Well, you’re really successful, why would you need to do that?” “What difference does it make?” “It doesn’t make sense.” And I even had discussions with friends where I told them what I was feeling. I said repeatedly, “I’m getting this impression I should just really go Zen.” Ugh, I, being an idiot, I didn’t trust or listen to my intuition. And it was a disaster. But it all worked out in the end.

And I want to say on that subject that because this is a spiritualizing influence, my experience, and I’m getting chills here, my experience is that you get what you need. Like the universe is not going to abandon you and let you starve to death or something like that. So you have to have trust. You know, you knew before you incarnated that you were going to have this transit at this time.

And a lot of it has to do with breaking down your ego so that you can become more spiritually evolved and so that you can operate on higher levels. To do that, we have to let go of all of our attachments, all of our egoic crap that binds us to the lower dimensions. There’s nothing necessarily wrong with the lower dimensions. As long as we’re not attached to it and that we don’t identify with them, that’s the problem. The problem is not the material stuff itself, it’s our egoic attachment to them and that our identity is fixed to those objects, states of being, possessions, or whatever they… or status, or whatever the case may be. On a higher level we know that we need to transcend that, but our ego clings desperately to these things because it’s safety, security, identity. Again, on the higher dimensions we don’t need any material objects whatsoever. We are infinite and timeless. So I thought I should explain that. Don’t panic. The universe is going to take care of you if you trust in it.

Another thing is that because this can kind of zap our physical energy, there is the potential for people to have sort of weird health problems where it’s not really clear what’s causing it. Like maybe, you know, you go to the doctor and you say, “I’m tired all the time,” and they can’t figure out what’s wrong with you. And then suddenly it goes away at some point down the road, and it would often be around when the transit is coming out of orb. But that’s just a physical vitality thing. That’s again why it’s so important to eat well, get lots of rest, don’t stress yourself out too much, don’t over-exert yourself physically, stuff like that.

These transits typically tend to take a couple years, depending on your chart and retrogrades. So let’s say you have a sun in Pisces, Gemini, Virgo or Sag. The whole time that Neptune is in Pisces, in challenging aspect, you will be under this influence. That can be many years, although the transit is most intense when it is within a tighter orb like 2 degrees. The house that this aspect is occurring in, let’s say your son is in the ninth house, will influence what areas of life this is going to show up the most in.

But also pay attention to if Neptune is transiting one of the angles. Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven, IC. Trust me, those are potent transits, and each point has different meaning. The Ascendant is about you, how you initially and superficially present to the world. The IC is more about home and family and your immediate personal environment and the people you’re associated with. The Descendant is more about relationships and significant others. The Midheaven is how you express yourself in the world. It includes things like career, your status, the transits over the angles, especially with the major outer planets, are very significant. In fact, we can use those to help us rectify birth times. That is how potent they are.

So to summarize:

• Be more aware of your immediate environment, the people that you’re associated with, the places that you’re in, what you ingest physically into your body,

• Put more attention or energy or effort into staying grounded,

• Deploy and maintain a routine for good energetic hygiene and protection. Learn those skills if you do not already have them.

• Engage in spiritual practice if possible.

• Be willing to let go of attachments to material things and material reality.

• Simplify your life.

• Express your creative potential if you have that.

• Beware of self-delusion and being deluded by others. And that includes things like illusions fantasies. I mean that can be fun, but just don’t get too attached to it.

• Be careful with drugs and stimulants.

• You may find that psychic experiences are amplified during this time.

• Avoid negative people, places, and things.

• Study metaphysical subjects.

• Trust that the universe will give you everything you need, and that anything you don’t have you don’t need.

• Engage in selfless service, like volunteering and charities, or helping those in need,

• and this is an excellent time to expand your consciousness,

• and to find out where your egoic attachments are, and how to release them.

Anyway, I think that’s it for now. I hope this is helpful to someone.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to put them in the comments section, and I try and keep up with that, although it can be a bit challenging sometimes.

Take care, all the best, and I’ll talk to you again soon.
