Pluto in Aquarius – Dawn of Global Consciousness: 2023 – 2044

I discuss the astrology of the transit of Pluto through Aquarius which will commence starting in 2023.

This major shift in energies will profoundly transform many aspects of society and our lives. As far as I am concerned it will be a very significant step in our journey into the dawning Age of Aquarius.

I also discuss Pluto transiting through Capricorn – which has been occurring since 2008 – and how that has shaped our world.

Personally, I have been anticipating Pluto entering Aquarius for well over a decade.

Find out why. Enjoy!

This is a transcript of an episode I published on my YouTube channel on February 14, 2022.

Episode transcript:

Welcome to Aquarian Diary where we discuss issues around the emerging Age of Aquarius. I’m your host, John Irving. Thank you for joining me!

Greetings all it is February 14, 2022.

I’ve been working on this for over a week, so please accept my apologies for theinconsist ent audio and recording which you will notice. It’s amazing how much your voice can change hour to hour, and day to day.

But this is a really fascinating subject I am very excited to be able to talk about and share with you. These times that we are in have to be one of the most interesting periods in all of human history. I sincerely hope you find the following interesting enlightening and worthwhile. I am looking forward to returning to more spiritually oriented topics after this episode but this transit of Pluto moving into Aquarius soon is one of the critical components of the extraordinary changes that are occurring at this point in the earth’s history.

Today I want to talk about something that to me is of great significance and importance this has been on my mind for well over 10 years. Anticipating this particular transit or ingress of Pluto into Aquarius which will commence in 2023. Coupled with the great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at zero degrees of Aquarius in December of 2020, these transits herald the beginning of a new era. The magnitude and scope of the implications of these transits are extremely significant. To me trying to cover these topics in a condensed form is daunting.

Before I get started I need to make clear that I am not going to be covering every major astrological transit that has occurred in this time period – namely the time period that Pluto was in Capricorn. For example we had a very significant Uranus square Pluto transit, Saturn has been squaring Uranus, we had Saturn and Pluto conjunct in Capricorn, amongst others. It would be very time consuming to cover everything that’s occurred over the past decade or so. However, in the backdrop there’s always which sign Pluto was occupying at the time that shows what themes are up for major or significant transformation, and that is what I will be focusing on here today.

Also when I use terms such as “the powers that be” or “the status quo” they are really just placeholders for world views or paradigms and not necessarily a reference to any specific groups, organizations or individuals.

First of all we need to talk a little bit about the influence or role of Pluto in world affairs. Pluto in its rawest form is like pure power or energy and as it moves through an astrological sign it imbues the qualities of that sign amplifying them, and as far as the world is concerned, bringing those themes or areas to our attention in many profound ways.

Pluto by challenging transit will often bring about periods of metaphorical death rebirth and complete transformation of what it comes in contact with. These periods of crisis can be dramatic and very significant, if not life-altering or destiny altering. As aspects of ourselves, or of states or nations or entities, have to go through a period of significant dissolution before they can be regenerated into something more substantial, whole, meaningful and that is in integrity. It can be akin to a wrecking ball to what is outmoded or no longer valid. Under its influence these periods can be experienced as being very tumultuous and only really actually fully appreciated as being beneficial and transformative with hindsight from some future perspective.

For years I have advised people undergoing Pluto transits to try to not be in resistance to the flow of those energies as being in resistance will make the inevitable process of transformation more difficult and challenging. Pluto’s energies are far too powerful to resist. Unfortunately when I observe what is going on in the world these days I see a tremendous amount of resistance. Thus I expect that this current period will continue to be challenging and tumultuous and even more difficult than it needs to be.

People are desperately clinging to outmoded structures, paradigms and worldviews, and resisting the call to evolve. Those in positions of power and privilege are not readily inclined to release their grip and Saturn is very resistant to change as I will explain shortly.

When we understand Pluto and how it works we can see how it influenced periods of history in various ways. Like I said it can empower people, places and situations and give them a great deal of intensity, for better or for worse. For example many world leaders or very powerful figures in world history have had strongly placed Pluto’s in their natal charts. Although this grants them a lot of power, there is often a significant comeuppance or retribution eventually if they choose to abuse that power. This can lead to dramatic and sometimes very public and humiliating downfalls and the destruction of all that they have aspired to. Pluto can be utterly devastating to an inflated ego which naively and mistakenly believes that it is the source of true power. It has an intensely karmic aspect to it.

When Pluto was in Sagittarius between 1995 and 2008 we saw really the dawn of the internet and global communications. Sagittarius rules all things international as well as philosophy, religion higher education, broadcasting and the media. There were revolutions in publishing, broadcasting, the media and communications technologies, which profoundly changed the world. Without question the dawn of the internet has completely changed every aspect or sphere of human activity. We went from being disparately and periodically connected to being constantly connected and aware of what was going on around the world at any moment in time. The world also saw the darker expression of this energy through religious fanaticism, extremism and fundamentalism, including brutal acts of ideologically motivated terrorism, wars, subjugation and oppression. Also during this time president Bill Clinton brought China into the world trade organization. Some American business interests eagerly imagined a new marketplace of a billion plus consumers for their products. Although that never materialized it set the stage for profound changes in global trade and manufacturing which would mark a critical turning point in human history.

Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008 and will be there roughly until 2024. Traditionally, in mundane astrology, the 10th house rules government, rulers, leaders of governments, kings queens, CEO’s, the seat of power… the top of hierarchical structures. It deals with the nation’s reputation status, credit… the state of the nation in terms of public employment. Saturn – the ruler of Capricorn and the tenth house – governs things like karma, responsibility, duty, obligations, long lasting structures and foundations. The tenth house is where we strive for achievement and status, often through concentrated and deliberate effort over time. It represents the culmination of our efforts to be recognized. To be at the top of the heap, or at least to try. Saturn a very masculine energy. When negatively expressed or aspected, or taken to extremes, can express itself very darkly by being cruel, dominating, repressive, controlling, authoritarian, punitive, rigid, inflexible, demanding, obstinate, restrictive, narrow-minded uncompromising, unforgiving, judgmental, harsh, patriarchal, intolerant, narrow-minded, excessively conservative, fearful, paranoid, defensive, oppressive, reactionary. And of course these attitudes can result in issues with repressed anger and resentment as well as fear of change, or threats to its status, dominance or any perceived threats to conformity or the status quo. To be clear this is not Saturn itself acting in this way it is the individual, entity, group or organization which is expressing the negative aspects of Saturnian energy.

We can see why the combination of the intense powerful and deep energies of Pluto combined with the rigid and controlling energies of Saturn have produced many of the trends we have been observing in recent social and political history. Saturn and Pluto conjuncted in Capricorn in January of 2020. The fact that this occurred in Saturn’s own sign lended great potency and emphasis to this alignment, and especially all themes Saturnian. Although Saturn and Pluto conjunct about every 33 to 38 years this was the first time it had occurred in Capricorn since the year 1518, over 500 years ago.

I made a list of some of the major issues that have come up during this period while Pluto has been transiting Capricorn. This is by no means exhaustive but they certainly fit within the themes one would expect to materialize during such a transit. I will put these items on the screen as well. It’s quite remarkable when you consider it, really.

  • At the very beginning one of the major events that occurred was the 2008 financial crisis and the bailout of the banks at taxpayer expense – without repercussions for the offenders. Followed by record low interest rates and quantitative easing to stimulate economic activity and avoid a global depression akin to what occurred in the 1930’s.
  • The election of Barack Obama, which triggered a reactionary and often racially motivated backlash.
  • The Fukushima nuclear disaster which was a gross regulatory failure.
  • The Panama Papers which disclosed how wealthy individuals were hiding their assets and wealth in offshore tax shelters.
  • The Edward Snowden revelations which exposed the absolute extent of government surveillance of all manner of communications.
  • The geopolitical ascendancy of China – a non-democratic autocratic nation.
  • The offshoring of manufacturing to countries with cheap labor, minimalist worker rights and environmental regulations.
  • A dramatic increase in social and political polarization.
  • The rise of right-wing, illiberal, autocratic and populist leaders.
  • The erosion of democratic and electoral norms and institutions.
  • The rise of misinformation and disinformation through social media and other platforms including some major news networks devoted to right-wing ideologies.
  • Rates of income and wealth disparity reached obscene levels during this period where a handful of billionaires own as much wealth as half of the world’s population.
  • The increasing consolidation of many key business sectors by a small number of corporate entities.
  • The specter of fascism, racism and right-wing extremism.
  • Brexit, which was a populist backlash largely based on misinformation and wishful thinking.
  • Foreign actors interfering with and undermining liberal democracies.
  • A significant lack of action to combat the climate change and global environmental crisis. It was for the most part business as usual despite growing alarm and consensus on the part of the world’s scientists and esteemed scientific bodies.
  • Displacement and disruption due to changing climatic patterns and severe weather events.
  • The adoption of the term anthropocene to define a new geologic epoch in earth’s planetary history in which human activity and its byproducts are the dominant factor or influence.
  • Increasingly extremist social and political movements with primarily caucasian right-wing domestic threats identified as a dominant concern.
  • An alarming erosion and undermining of democratic institutions protocols and safeguards by illiberal forces.
  • Significant efforts to suppress and interfere with voting access rights and privileges.
  • Insurrectionists attempted to overthrow democratically elected governments.
  • Scientists, academics, experts, journalists, public officials and even private citizens were harassed, attacked and intimidated in the so-called culture wars.
  • A global pandemic on a scale not seen in a hundred years affecting trade, supply chains, employment and living routines.
  • Social unrest due to pandemic protocols and medical misinformation. The rise of the anti-vaxxer movement.
  • Increasing tensions between the United States and China and the United States, Europe and Russia.
  • Growing concerns about significant bubbles in the stock market and real estate markets triggered by historically low interest rates.
  • Historic levels of inflation resulting in spiraling costs of living particularly for those with marginal incomes, which fueled resentment even further.
  • Legitimate concerns about social breakdowns and even civil war in leading democracies, particularly in America.
  • Increasing concerns about the state of the global economy due to the aforementioned issues.

And so while Pluto has been transiting through Capricorn we have become very aware of how these areas of life have been influencing us, how they’ve been abused – because again Pluto is power and power can be easily corrupted. Even if there are karmic consequences for that they may not be experienced immediately. So Pluto has been enhancing all of these areas of life. We’ve all been witnessing this play out through these years commencing in 2008 and we’ve all become very aware of the potential for these powers to be misused and then therefore how those areas of society and life need to be renewed, regenerated or reformed.

Now when Pluto goes into Aquarius this is in a completely different energy and area of life that will be emphasized. Aquarius rules the 11th house which is a very different energy. It is fixed air versus cardinal earth. Its modern ruler is Uranus, its traditional ruler is Saturn (which never made sense to me). Uranus is the planet of change revolution and innovation. It breaks up stagnant or outmoded or redundant structures or patterns and it can do so quite dramatically.

Aquarius is visionary, egalitarian, future-oriented, progressive, independent, individualistic, logical, rational, and intelligent. It disdains hypocrisy and injustice and is willing to make sacrifices for core beliefs or principles. Aquarians are rebellious and will not accept arbitrary power or authority at face value. Respect must be earned and maintained. They do not adhere to dogma for the sake of dogma, or tradition alone. This does not bode well for institutions such as organized religion or people wedded to archaic dogmatic ideologies, for example, which are legacies of the Piscean Age energies.

The 11th house, the house of Aquarius and Uranus, governs society at large, the people, community, community engagement, involvement and collaboration. Organizations that deal with humanitarian and egalitarian issues that deal with the transformation and evolution of society. So we can see that the energies of the 11th house are very different. The 10th house deals with power and power structures, and the attempt to consolidate and impose power. Whereas the 11th house seeks to revolutionize systems and is more concerned with distributing power and the welfare of society and the people. Very, very different energies.

Pluto’s orbit is elliptical – it will spend shorter or longer periods of time in each sign depending on where it is so it’s going to be in Aquarius for almost 20 years commencing in 2023 all the way through 2044. And we can think of what this transit will herald as the dawn of collective consciousness or global consciousness. Where we extend beyond the boundaries of our own limited reality and take into account brighter societal implications and the welfare of others. It is not prone to things like conspiracy theories or BS because that’s just not what Aquarius is all about. It’s very rational, very intelligent, scientifically oriented, forward-looking. It’s not about just immediate benefit or gain, or like I said the consolidation of power. It will make sacrifices for the betterment of society.

I briefly mentioned the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn in December of 2020. Now that’s significant because those conjunctions occur roughly every 20 years. But since 1802 these Great Conjunctions have been occurring in earth signs and the Great Conjunction in December of 2020 was one of the first conjunctions in air signs. And that pattern will now continue uninterrupted in air signs for almost 200 years, the last one occurring in 2199. These conjunctions of Jupiter and Saturn mark very significant periods of time. The previous cycle of Jupiter and Saturn in air signs ended in the year 1405, some 600 years ago. The collective energy is shifting more from earth to air, and air is a mental, intellectual or rational energy.

We have Pluto soon to move into Aquarius where it’ll transform society from a very different perspective than it has while it was in Capricorn. This will have very profound implications for humanity. I will put all of these dates in greater detail on the screen. The first ingress or the first time that Pluto will go into Aquarius will be on March 23, 2023 through June 11 of 2023. It will retrograde back into Capricorn and then it’ll move into Aquarius again in January of 2024 through September of 2024 and then it will move more permanently into Aquarius in November of 2024 all the way through 2043.

A couple notable historical events in history that occurred the last time that Pluto was in Aquarius were the French Revolution in 1789 and the American revolution of 1776. In the early 1780’s Massachusetts abolished slavery.

As I’ve said Aquarius is very revolutionary energy and it doesn’t put up with or abuses of power, authority or idiocy. Those who will be welcome energies indeed, from our perspective now. When Pluto goes into Aquarius in 2023 we will start to see people in a sense revolt against abusive power structures that put power into the hands of a few people versus the masses. That can also apply to any other tyrannical or abusive power structures, could be corporate could be in banking or finance or with industries that are abusive.

Aquarian energy would also be much more concerned about environmental issues, human rights issues and justice and fairness for all. So we can expect to see those who hold those kinds of energies or views to become much more prominent than the sort of patriarchal top-down power structures we have been confronted with so intensely over recent years. And let’s face it there are many aspects of society that are in profound need of those kinds of transformational energies. The status quo or the power structures that seem to be controlling us at this point in time are literally unsustainable for our planet.

Uranus can bring sharp and sudden and dramatic shifts in your life or in the course of your life if you have a strong Uranus transit affecting your natal chart. And they can be very surprising and dramatic, like I said. So I expect that when we see Pluto begin to move into Aquarius we will see very sharp and sudden and dramatic actions and reactions to outmoded forms of control and power. Aquarius is not about the me, it’s about the us.

There’s a lot of interesting things to consider here because Uranus can be very revolutionary and challenging to existing structures – those that are corrupt or defunct. Uranus is so different that is actually tilted on its side, it has a very different rotational axis from any other planet in our solar system.

And like I said it is evidence-based and generally rational. A lot of the issues that we see playing out in the world at the time of this recording are reactionary because I think these institutions and individuals recognize a looming period where they will lose control and their privilege with it. Now of course we have the technology so that we can all be connected and aware of everything that’s happening around the world, almost in real time. So there is no way to fully control or put that genie back in the bottle. There will be kind of a collective uprising against those forms of tyrannical control and power and dominance.

One of the truisms about Uranus is that because it can be so surprising is that we can never fully predict how it will play out. There always seems to be some kind of element of events that we didn’t anticipate, that are surprising to us. It can often deal with things that are outside of her beyond our experience or awareness and that are only appreciated in hindsight after events have transpired.

I would anticipate events to occur that are outside of our past experience. If there was a time where humanity was going to encounter other forms of intelligent life, for example, this would be when it would occur. That would be something that is radically outside of our past experience and these energies would be conducive to things like that. The 11th house governs society and Uranus can completely change the way we understand our role in society and how we are connected to other beings even possibly beyond our own earth. If humanity is going to go beyond the boundaries of our planetary limitations this would be the time where at the very least those seeds would be planted.

What follows is conjecture on my part, of course. However, if what I suggest do not fully materialize I do believe that many of these changes or concepts will at least begin to germinate during this period.

  • I would anticipate very significant revolutions in the area of science and technology.
  • Using my imagination some areas where we may see some significant or revolutionary advancements include:
  • New forms of non-polluting renewable energy.
  • New forms of energy which allow people to produce their own energy independent of centralized energy sources (off-grid so-to-speak).
  • Green energy and distributed, decentralized energy production and significant advancements in how we store energy – battery technology and the like.
  • The end of the fossil fuel era and the transition to electric vehicles and transportation.
  • Significantly more advanced forms of transportation which allow us to traverse the globe more efficiently and quickly.
  • Significant advancements in computing and quantum computing.
  • Decentralized communications, telecommunications and networking.
  • Significant advancements in all the sciences and engineering, including new materials.
  • Significant advancements in artificial intelligence and robotics, emancipating people from the drudgery of routine labor so they can focus on more intellectual pursuits.
  • Significant advancements in gene therapy as a form of medicine and healing as well as a means of combating chronic and contagious diseases and illnesses.
  • The end of paper currency and the widespread use of some form of digital currency – probably sanctioned by government
  • The adoption and implementation of some form of universal basic income, socialized medicine and health care.
  • More readily accessible and affordable higher education.
  • Stricter laws and regulations concerning corporate rights versus individual or collective rights.
  • Stricter regulations on corporations versus the rights of the individual or society.
  • Systems to control or limit the damage caused by disinformation and misinformation including in broadcasting and the media.
  • Significant advancements with respect to electoral systems – the adoption and implementation of some form of proportional representation as an electoral system versus the archaic first-past-the-post electoral systems many countries still use. As proportional representation – or some form of it – as it yields a much more accurate representation of the will of the people. It is also likely we will see more multi-party systems.
  • Political campaign finance laws to limit or restrict the rights of corporations to have undue influence over electoral outcomes.
  • The new economy is likely to become increasingly more knowledge-based.
  • Greater decentralization of work habits – in other words more freedom to work remotely or from distant locations and probably a shorter work week and greater worker rights.
  • A general recognition and appreciation for those who are learned or who have high levels of expertise or that are well educated as opposed to the current emphasis on people who are of high status and wealth.
  • A clamp down on things like predatory lending.
  • Expanded social safety nets including greater support for child care and child rearing.
  • Greater recognition for teachers and the important role they play in society (strong chills there, I’ve always… I’ve known quite a few teachers – they really deserve our support).
  • Much stricter environmental regulations for carbon emissions, pollution, chemicals and the like.
  • Possible significant advancements with fusion as a form of grid-based energy which is renewable.
  • And, of course, an emphasis on education and learning which will be lifelong activities.
  • Overall I expect it to be akin to the Industrial Revolution in scope but this revolution will be a technological, scientific, intellectual and societal revolution. We can also expect to see tremendous political and social reform.
  • Aquarian energy is completely comfortable with people expressing their unique individuality. That would relate to gender identity through sexual expression and liberation or whether they are of different ethnicity or race or color or culture doesn’t matter. The Aquarius energy welcomes diversity, individuality and unique expression. it will not recognize artificial, dogmatic or irrational boundaries or borders between people be they racial, economic or socio-political. Like I said it has kind of a disdain for patriarchal top-down rules that only exist to serve a structure and not humanity itself.
  • I would not be surprised to see greater international and global communication and cooperation to address transnational issues such as the climate crisis and the environmental crisis, as well as humanitarian issues such as hunger, poverty, health care and lack of education.
  • Sustainable agriculture will almost certainly be addressed and probably we will see a shift to more vegetarian eating and less consumption of meat due to its exceptionally high carbon footprint and low yield of calories for energy invested, and its highly inefficient use of vast tracts of land.
  • Finally I almost certainly think we will see – with a very high degree of certainty – that the astonishing levels of income disparity inequality and unfair taxation will be finally addressed. Fairness will be the mantra. That you can pretty much bank on.

People who have significant points in their natal chart that are in air or fire will probably benefit most from this transit as the energies of Aquarius are more in tune with air and fire.

Leo’s will have Pluto oppose their Sun. Scorpios and Taurus will have Pluto square their Sun. And of course Aquarius will have Pluto conjunct their Sun at some point during this transit (which is a very long transit).

Pluto will be opposing Leo ruled by the Sun so this will present challenges for those who are overly self-oriented, egotistical or narcissistic. It may also affect the way we deal or have to deal with children.

It will be squaring Scorpio so there may be significant issues or changes that need to be made in the areas of psychology, sexuality, reproduction, child rearing, deep interpersonal relationships, mental health and well-being – dealing with trauma, grief and abuse, etc.

As well Pluto will be squaring Taurus, which is ruled by Venus, and relates to issues around property, real estate and money, and the harvest, so there could be issues with food production and availability during this time. And I would not be surprised if we saw major issues with the banking and finance sector at some point during this transit. There could be significant disruptions to our economy the stock market and real estate and things like that. Those areas are all up for very significant change and transformation during this 20-year long period.

I personally feel that this shift of Pluto into Aquarius, in close conjunction to the great Saturn and Jupiter conjunction at the very beginning of Aquarius – literally at zero degrees Aquarius, are hallmarks of the major shifting or stepping stones or turning points or gateways into the age of Aquarius.

Like I said I have been looking forward to this for well over a decade. It’s probably self-evident but if you’ve listened to my videos you can see that i’m very progressive. And I do not really understand or resonate with selfish, self-centered, acquisitive or very materialistic behaviors or patterns or paradigms. This shift of energies into Aquarius would certainly benefit someone with a perspective like mine. And I presume that many of the people who are listening to my channel would be similarly inclined.

We will get a first taste of this at the end of March of 2023 and it’ll take a year and a half for those energies to fully settle in. There’ll be a dance back and forth between Aquarius and Capricorn through 2023 into the latter half of 2024 when the energies fully settle into Aquarius.

Again because Uranus can manifest quickly and dramatically I think we’re going to start to see how this is going to play out very quickly and so those of us who are very concerned about how we’re facing the threat of what appears to be fascism in many regards right now – populism which is based on a lot of lies and disinformation and misinformation – all that kind of crap will be laid to rest very quickly when Pluto moves into Aquarius. It will favor things like democratic socialism and progressivism. As opposed to the rule of the many by the few it’ll be the rule of the many for the many.

So this should really help us deal with, say for example, the environmental crisis, climate change and things like that because Aquarians do not put up with BS and they are very socially responsible and socially concerned and the environment will certainly play a role in that.

This energy will also help us develop technologies that can get us off fossil-fuel-based energy systems or energy systems that are detrimental to our health or welfare or well-being in the long run because it is so socially concerned and aware. It will take a long view of the impacts of industrial activity like that.

This will be tremendously exciting and inspiring and rational… thank God.

I’ve been wanting to produce this for a very long time now. The dramas that have been playing out as a result of Pluto transiting Capricorn will reach a crescendo in particular when Pluto reaches 29 degrees Capricorn – an Anoretic degree. The 29th degree of signs is considered to be a very intense degree because it’s the very last degree of that sign where all of those energies kind of reach a culmination just before a planet moves into the following sign.

Like I said the ingress or when Pluto first moves into Aquarius will be March 23rd of 2023. I’ll put the dates for this on the screen but Pluto will be generally at 29 degrees Capricorn from June until July of 2023, from December of 2023 to January of 2024 and September of 2024 to November of 2024. Again that’s when Pluto will be at 29 degrees Capricorn so we can anticipate some fairly dramatic events around those dates just because of the intensity of both Pluto and the 29th degree or the Anoretic degree.

In fact the last time Pluto will retrograde and then station direct at 29 degrees – again that’s September to November of 2024 – we can anticipate intense or dramatic developments in that time frame. It could even manifest as one last desperate grasp by the powers that be or the status quo to try and maintain or enforce or impose its worldview. Or maybe some very dark and unknown truths come to light at that time which function as the last or final straw or the last nail in the coffin of the status quo or the powers that be. Which then becomes the spark or the fuel which ignites the revolution which will occur when Pluto moves into Aquarius. We shall see.

Now one of the potential downsides of this transit is that Aquarius can be kind of an aloof and detached and sometimes a bit cold sign because they’re very rational and intellectual and they’re a little bit uncomfortable with their emotional side. It all depends on your natal chart and how it’s configured. so there is the potential for doctrines to kind of be imposed upon society in a technocratic kind of way. Most likely left-wing societal structures.

I think that because we will be facing a lot of very significant global challenges – that traditional aspects of society and our economies and so forth are not equipped to deal with – there is that potential of having some kind of a top-down kind of approach to doing things. There could be in that event controls or surveillance over the flow of communications, information and knowledge (which we already have, let’s face it, in the United States, as Snowden revealed to the world.) So I hope we don’t manifest the negative potential of this transit, but it’s something that we should be aware of as this transit approaches.

I will certainly be paying attention to what events transpire during those times when Pluto is at 29 degrees of Capricorn. Pluto will bring to our awareness all of the areas that it touches and put them in our faces so that we can see what is corrupt. So that we can address it and deal with it and then move on.

So often it looks like there are, for example, attempts to control or dominate or impose power or will upon others but this is occurring so that we can see what needs to be fixed essentially or reformed. And so this whole transit of Pluto through Capricorn has really been showing us how our systems of governance and power and leadership are being abused. So that we can reform them or correct them. This whole period from 2008 through 2024 that’s been a major theme globally and for pretty much every country in the world. When Pluto moves into Aquarius is when a lot of those reforms – those needed reforms – where old structures that are no longer actually serving the people will be either obliterated or reformed or new structures will be created that are more in line with the benefit of the masses.

Aquarius will literally fight for its beliefs and if we consider what occurred during the French Revolution and the American Revolution that is quite evident. They will not put up with BS basically and they are willing to lay their lives on the line to make whatever changes are needed. So I would not want to be somebody who is heavily invested in the status quo if that status quo is corrupted or exploitive.

On a spiritual level for those who are so engaged we can anticipate things like being very aware of the collective on an energetic level and this could include psychic phenomenon and telepathy. As we gain the ability to bridge what were formerly impenetrable borders, the boundaries and definitions and limitations of three-dimensional time and space will begin to be dissolved. And I also wouldn’t be surprised if we find that science starts to identify discernibly how some of these mechanisms work. How we are all connected on subtle energetic levels that we formerly did not perceive or understand. So you can expect that like I said what were borders or boundaries between us as individuals and us as collective beings – and even possibly us in relation to other forms of intelligent life in the universe – that those borders or boundaries will be overcome and we will have direct experience that transcend time space and three dimensions. Our understanding and definition of life itself and what is alive, or what is conscious, may also be significantly expanded. Although it’s possible the complete understanding of that may not occur until we are further into the age of Aquarius.

I’m not suggesting that all of humanity is going to experience those kinds of things profoundly but people in the vanguard I certainly think they will. That would be people who are at a more advanced level of spiritual development and consciousness.

All in all tremendously exciting and for those of us who are completely fed up with the paradigms that currently dominate our world. This will be a period of tremendous revolution and the endings of a lot of structures that have limited us in the past. We can anticipate very dramatic and rapid advancements during this time – things that we could not even or did not even predict.

It’s interesting that I am here commenting on this subject – one of the biggest subjects of all I think – I have had my progressed Sun in Aquarius for a few years and I have had Pluto enter my 11th house not too long ago for probably the rest of my life.

So stay tuned. This period that we’re going to be entering in the not too distant future is going to be incredibly powerful.

Again, we’ve got the Pluto moving to 29 degrees Capricorn in 2023 through early 2024 – until it fully settles in at the end of 2024 – until 2044. So this is kind of like the dawn of collective or global consciousness and the end of abusive and corrupted patriarchal power structures.

I’ll leave you with one other thought which I had as I was finishing up editing this and that’s this: I think that nations that resonate with this Aquarian energy with Pluto and Aquarius are the ones that will fare the best in the coming times. Think about that because it’s kind of like being in a group where you don’t fit in. You know you don’t just jive with the energy and you’re really awkward and out of place? That’s kind of what it’ll be like in the world as we move further into this Aquarian energy. Nations and peoples that jive with that energy will probably prosper the most. And the same for people too. I hope you’re one of them.

Thanks so much for spending time with me I look forward to doing it again soon.

The Dark Side of Pluto in Aquarius: 2023 – 2044

I discuss what we can expect from the dark or more challenging aspects of the upcoming very significant transit of Pluto in Aquarius, from 2023 through 2044.

I recommend that you watch or listen to the episode I published on February 14, 2022 titled Pluto in Aquarius – Dawn of Global Consciousness prior to viewing this episode, as it is more thorough in many respects.

This is a transcript of an episode of Aquarian Diary I published on October 4, 2022.

Episode transcript:

Welcome to Aquarian Diary, where we discuss issues around the emerging Age of Aquarius. I’m your host John Irving. Thank you for joining me.

Greetings all. It is October 3rd 2022.

On February 14th of this year I published one of my most time intensive videos to produce titled Pluto in Aquarius – Dawn of Global Consciousness. That episode was almost an hour long and at that time I was quite concerned about producing an episode that would be too lengthy. I felt like an hour was pushing it, so I didn’t go into a lot of detail about the darker or more challenging side of Pluto transiting Aquarius, and I want to do that here.

As I said I went into a fair amount of detail about how Pluto transiting Aquarius, commencing in 2023 through 2044, was going to affect society and our experience, and I also discussed how it had been manifesting as it transited Capricorn, which is what we’re experiencing right now. So I’m not going to revisit all of that detail here, obviously that would be redundant. So I strongly encourage you to listen to that episode prior to listening to this one, if you haven’t already. I’ll put a link to it in the description of this episode.

Now during this over 20-year transit there will of course be many other transits occurring during that time any one of which if it’s significant could have dramatic implications in the world so don’t think that Pluto transiting Aquarius is the only thing that’s going to be going on. There is always a constantly changing astrological climate, so to speak, at play. So this will just be one of the important backdrops to all of that, one of the major themes.

In brief the way Pluto works is that it will, through experiences and awareness, draw your attention to wherever there is darkness. Darkness meaning things like trauma, fear, grief, anger, resentment, empowerment versus disempowerment, control, domination… those kinds of things. So when people are going through a significant Pluto transit, and they happen to know anything about astrology, some fear around that can arise because you know you’re dealing with darker aspects of yourself. And we all have them.

If you have Karma whatsoever, or you need to incarnate here, I would argue that you have darkness that needs to be healed, resolved, understood, integrated or whatever. And I myself, because I’ve been here for a reasonably long time, have had several major Pluto transits. And also because I am generally engaged in doing spiritual work, I deliberately and consciously make an effort to do my shadow work. (Shadow work: Pluto.) And as a result I have some familiarity and experience of dealing with the kinds of issues that Pluto will put in your face when you go through a challenging Pluto Transit. And Pluto is so intense and deep and powerful that you can’t really avoid, you know, dealing with whatever comes up. If you don’t confront it consciously and deliberately it’ll be put into your experience – and sometimes quite dramatically – through outer events that seem to be conspiring against you. In fact, what Pluto is trying to do is to get you to purge your darkness. They can be extremely difficult in challenging transits but they can also be the most enlightening and the most liberating transits, if you work with these energies.

For example, I had Pluto square my Moon for several years. Pluto is a very slow moving Planet. Its orbit is roughly 248 years. So generally transits to personal planets or points can take several years to transpire. And when Pluto squared my Moon it brought to my awareness a tremendous amount of subconscious stuff that at times was shocking because I wasn’t even aware that I had all of that stuff within me. And some of it can be kind of dark, you know. And that’s Pluto’s role: Lord of the Underworld. And it can manifest in your outward experience as well, where aspects of your life can go through dramatic and significant changes.

So, so far I’ve just given you kind of a brief synopsis or overview of why Plutonian transits are so powerful, and deep, and significant. And if it’s transiting a house it can take many years to transit through one of your houses in your chart. Transits to planets or points, like I said, generally take a few years depending on retrogrades and so on.

And so now globally we’ve been dealing with Pluto transiting Capricorn. And Capricorn rules the structures, and governance, and institutions, and power centers of our society. And we have been seeing how many of those aspects of society, and our governance, and things like that – and corporate realms – we have been seeing how many of them are corrupt, defunct, out of step with current reality. There have been abuses of power that are just obscene. I mean Putin’s invasion of Ukraine is a great example. It’s just completely over the top.

The benefit to all this though is that it’s showing us where we need to rejuvenate, restore, revisit, revise and update a lot of those structures of our world. New policies. How do we prevent these kinds of things from happening? How do we stop idiots like Putin from even being in a position to do what he’s doing? And it’ll take many years to integrate all that stuff. But as Pluto transits Capricorn we’re becoming extremely aware of all of the dark aspects of those areas of life so that we can transform and heal them. Pluto is often described as being like the Phoenix that rises from the flames of destruction. So we destroy all of these defunct and decrepit means of governance, and leadership, and authority, and then we renew them. And they get to be born again in a much better, healthier way. It’s kind of like clearing out the deadwood. if you’ve ever pruned a tree it can look quite scary. But then after a year or two it is amazing how much new growth comes back. And some trees and shrubs really benefit from a good pruning, when you know what you’re doing. That’s the positive side of all this. You know, we’re still in the middle of all this crazy insanity so we haven’t yet seen – and we probably won’t for years yet – but we haven’t yet seen the benefit of these horrible experiences. These very challenging and difficult experiences.

So now Aquarius, or the 11th house, where Pluto is going to begin transiting in 2023… it’ll make some forays into Aquarius and then it’ll retrograde back into Capricorn. And so this transition from Capricorn into Aquarius is going to take about a year and a half or so until Pluto finally settles in there. But we’ll start to get a sense of how this is going to play out fairly quickly. Now I’m using the house and the sign interchangeably here, they are not exactly the same thing. But for the purposes of this exercise it’ll suffice. This isn’t an astrology class.

And Aquarius, the 11th house, is very different energy from the tenth. The tenth is these structures and institutions and the 11th or Aquarius is how society and the people benefit from all of the stuff that precedes it, because societies and people are actually more important than institutions and power brokers, and stuff like that. Aquarius is really about all of us. And in the contemporary context it literally means all of us in the sense that it’s global. And I have also talked a lot about this Age of Aquarius and how that’s going to play out. It’s about society and egalitarianism. Ultimately part of this Pluto transiting Aquarius though is going to be showing us how those areas of life and those areas of our society are defunct and decrepit. We’re going to become aware of how things are broken or how things are not valid or in the highest good of all. Or that where things aren’t egalitarian. So we’re probably going to very quickly start to become aware of where corruption exists within the context of broader societal values and human rights. And how some nations hoard while others are starving. I mean think about all the humanitarian stuff, right? I mean ideally everything we’re doing really is about, or should be about, making a better world for everybody. But along the way power, and wealth, and resources, and influence gets corrupted because it gets concentrated in the hands of a few. That doesn’t really fit into the Aquarian energy at all. And so all of that stuff, wherever things are broken, wherever things, like I said, are defunct, or limited, or need to be renewed… or destroyed so that we can build better systems.

We’re going to start thinking about and questioning why are things the way they are? What is preventing us from having a truly egalitarian world? Why do people have to pay for what are effectively essential things? I’m just making things up but… to give you some food for thought… but why do people have to pay for things that are essential for survival? That could be food, water, medicine, health care, education… Wherever there is a lack of egalitarianism that stuff is going to be put in our faces very powerfully, directly and probably dramatically. So organizations like the United Nations or other humanitarian organizations, or the policies of governments, the hoarding of power of wealth, of influence, how we don’t act in each other’s highest good, all of that stuff is going to become very apparent to us. And it’s going to need to be addressed. And at times we’re probably going to be shocked by what we see about how corrupt and unfair things are. But the benefit of that is that we will then get to – during this transit through 2044 – fix all that stuff, and make it better… make it work.

The way this kind of works is that if we don’t do the work, if we don’t transform those things in the way that meshes with the energies of Aquarius, we’re going to have some real problems. Like you can’t be in resistance to this energy or it can become very destructive. But we have quite a bit of time to do this.

So those of us, and I really believe, it seems to me, that many of the people who listen to me are very egalitarian, very high-minded, sincere and spiritual seekers and thinkers, we really all have this almost kind of corny vision of the world and how how it should be. But I think that’s rooted in our connection with our spiritual higher selves because on the spiritual dimension there is no separation, or need, or lack… we all are equal and we all have everything we need to exist. And we want to see that manifested here on Earth. And that’s what we’re going to be going through, is what is limiting us, what’s blocking us, what’s interfering with us, what is causing pain and suffering. And, you know, like the fact that people are starving when there’s more than enough food for everyone on the planet it… it’s obscene and it’s stupid and it’s ridiculous. It’s… it’s really gross, Right? When you think about it. So that’s the kind of stuff we’re going to be dealing with, is all the darkness that doesn’t reflect those kinds of higher Aquarian ideals.

Now Aquarius also deals with things like communication and technology. For example, I would not be in the least bit surprised if we were to find out that the extent of government surveillance and logging of our digital footprints is far more extensive and creepy than we already know. And what we know already is very Orwellian. So we will probably become aware of stuff about, you know, things like social media and technology and how it may harm us in some ways. Well we’re already kind of aware of that but I would say that those sectors are going to be kind of in for a bruising. If they aren’t really serving the highest good of all, and if they are actually consciously, or knowingly, or at least aware of the fact, that their methodologies are harming people. That’s not to say they shouldn’t exist. It’s just to say that their values will be questioned and they may need to make a lot of adjustments. Now there may be some companies out there, tech companies, who are actually motivated by very high ideals. And they will rise to the top. Their energies will flow very powerfully. So we could see a lot of changes in the area of technology and Communications and the internet.

The 11th house also covers hopes, and dreams, and wishes. We can expect that in many ways we will collectively experience a reality check and become clear about what our true motivations are, and whether they are in the collective highest good or not. And this may be rather painful and difficult as we come to realize what actually motivates us… whether it’s sustainable, desirable, or realistic. But by the time this transit is through we will likely have transformed our ambitions and desires fairly dramatically. And from my perspective this is something that we need to do desperately because the path that we have been on is literally unsustainable. Again I’ve talked a lot about that kind of stuff in the Pluto and Aquarius – Dawn of Global Consciousness video. so I don’t really want to go into that here.

Aquarius can also be aloof and detached… more mental than heart oriented. So, as I discussed in my prior episode on this topic, there can be issues with not being heart centered. Leading to things like technocratic ways of handling problems. I just want to, like I said, make you aware of of the drama and how Pluto will force us to do the shadow work that relates to Aquarian and 11th house kind of issues. It’s going to be very exciting.

Now, like I said, I don’t fear shadow work. I personally confront it very directly and head on because I think that we grow and evolve very quickly when we do that. When we don’t try and pretend that we don’t have the shadow stuff to do, and that we take responsibility for it. I want to get it out of the way so that I can have a more enlightened experience. But there will be people who will be in resistance to this. And there will be people who are moving society forward in a positive way with respect to 11th house and Aquarian principles. And those people are going to become fairly prominent in a positive way. The people who are doing the very good social and egalitarian type work – and who are affiliated with Aquarian type causes – are going to come into much more prominence.

We will also see the media starting to reflect and discuss and talk about Aquarian type values. It’s just like this energy comes into our global consciousness on a mundane level. “Mundane” is the term we use when we speak about astrology and how it affects the world, as opposed to us personally. And so on a mundane level we’re going to see all of these kinds of energies and influences come into play much more broadly. The shift can be such that you don’t even recognize it happening. It just kind of takes place and sometimes you need to look at it in hindsight before you can really fully appreciate it.

But yeah, the darkness is going to be exposing all of the unconscious ways in which Aquarian and Eleventh House values are corrupted or distorted. So there you go.

Uranus square Pluto and Far-Right Extremism: 1930’s and 2010’s

Here I discuss the astrology of right-wing extremism and the role of the astrology of the Uranus square Pluto cycle in recent history.

Such astrological transits have been associated with the rise of radical right-wing extremism, populism, fascism and authoritarianism.

This is a transcript of an episode of Aquarian Diary I published at 9:11am on June 15, 2023

Episode transcript:

Greetings all, welcome to Aquarian Diary.

I’m your host, John Irving.

It is June 15th, 2023.

This topic has been on my to-do list for a very long time.

I’ll be displaying many dates on the screen, so if you’re interested in those kinds of things, you may want to watch this on YouTube.

It took me many hours to calculate and verify all these states. You can’t just go copy them off the internet somewhere, because often there will be mistakes. That’s not to say that I haven’t made any, but I tried not to. With so many numbers, it’s quite possible to make a typo or something like that, or to omit something.

There’s a few reasons why what I want to talk about today is very important.

One, it helps explain recent trends, namely the rise of fascism and far-right extremism, which threatens liberal democracies around the world currently, including the United States, the most powerful country on the planet. Who’d have thought that would ever happen?

And it also of course explains the rise of populist demagogues, people who are typically extremely unqualified to be in the positions they’re in, and not just because of their blatant lack of expertise, but their abhorrently poor moral and ethical character as well.

At the very least, recent history has been shocking and disturbing.

Let’s not forget that a few generations ago, millions of people around the world rallied to defend democracy against the threat of tyranny and fascist dictators. Our ancestors made tremendous sacrifices to protect our cherished way of life and our freedoms. Anyone with even a superficial understanding of history knows that nobody benefits ultimately from those sorts of tyrannies except a very small handful of people. Anyone who thinks that that form of governance will provide them with some form of safe harbor is profoundly mistaken.

The other main reason that prompted me to talk about this now is that it’s just been stuck in my mind for a few weeks. And I have, very gradually, learned that when things stick in my mind, I need to talk about them, that they’re important. And I have a feeling that if I explain what is going on astrologically, it might help some people wrap their heads around this and give them another perspective that might be helpful.

Have you ever had the experience where a song is stuck in your head, an earworm, sometimes for days, until suddenly you stop and you think about the lyrics and it makes perfect sense. It’s that kind of thing.

What I want to demonstrate here today is the role of the Pluto-Uranus cycle in recent history.

As I worked on this, I realized that you could easily do a full documentary on this one topic. I’m going to keep it fairly simple because I would like people who are not highly skilled at astrology to understand the important role that these two outer planets play and how the timing might be affecting us.

The Uranus-Pluto cycle varies a lot because Pluto’s orbit is very elliptical, so it will appear to spend a lot more time in some signs than others.

When Pluto and Uranus conjunct, or when these two planets meet at the same degree, it tends to mark very important points in world history. To give you a sense of scale, Pluto and Uranus conjuncted around 1850, 1966, and the next one will occur in 2104.

Pluto represents deep and powerful transformation, metaphorical death and rebirth, the energy of raw power, which can be used for both good and bad, bringing to the conscious what is subconscious. Pluto rules the underworld.

And Uranus represents sudden insights, dramatic events, changes in perspective or circumstances, and it has a very revolutionary energy about it.

So when these two planets meet, depending on the sign, it can mark very potent and significant periods of change and transformation that can be very dramatic.

Just after the conjunction in Aries in 1850 and 1851, within a few years, the first oil well was drilled in Pennsylvania in the United States. Now when we look back to the effects of the industrial revolution on atmospheric concentrations of carbon dioxide, 1850 is often used as a starting point, and prior to then is effectively a baseline for the effects of human activity.

The internal combustion engine changed every aspect of life on Earth for humanity. Imagine if we still lived in a world where it took weeks or months to traverse the globe.

The era of industrialization officially began in the year 1850 through 1938. Charles Darwin would soon publish The Origin of Species, and The Science of Epidemiology would soon be born.

All of these completely reshaped history, as well as the entire biosphere of Earth.

No aspect of human experience was left untouched.

To illustrate the potency of the Uranus-Pluto conjunction in more contemporary terms, let’s consider the 1960s.

Like I said, Pluto and Uranus conjuncted in Virgo around 1965-66. Now those are the dates when the conjunction was exact, but these two planets would have been within a few degrees of each other for some time before then and for some time after then.

So that period of the 1960s is considered to be an extremely important point in modern history. And if we look at the kinds of events that occurred in the United States as a case in point, it represented a very radical shift in many, many ways.

There was the entire counter-cultural movement, feminism, many people rejected the dogmatic cultural approach from the preceding years in the 1950s. There was a very active student movement, protests against the war in Vietnam, clashes over civil rights, the moon landing, widespread concerns about nuclear annihilation – Pluto was discovered in 1930 and the first atomic bomb was used in the second world war. There were powerful movements on the part of minorities and to address segregation. The Voting Rights Act was implemented, the assassination of President Kennedy, Martin Luther King, and Malcolm X. There were revolutionary changes in areas like fashion, music, art, popular culture, relationships, and sexuality. People explored different kinds of lifestyles and Eastern spirituality.

Virgo is an earth sign ruled by Mercury. Many people even explored doing things like going back to the land, rejecting modern society. Rachel Carson’s book Silent Spring was published, which many attribute to the birth of the environmental movement. And of course there was a whole movement of people who were, like I said, exploring things like eating and living naturally, exploring alternative forms of medicine. They rejected many aspects of modern society.

I mean, it goes on and on and on. It was enormously powerful and transformative.

And society was quite polarized, much like today in some ways. The effects of that period lasted for decades if they’re not still playing out. Huge changes which also sparked a lot of resistance from the status quo. The powers that be went to great lengths to try and discredit all of this because, of course, it threatened them and their privilege and they’ve been trying to put that genie back in the bottle ever since.

In fact, I have argued here before that that explains why education is so astronomically expensive now because young people are much less likely to rebel if they are in inescapable debt up to their eyeballs.

The next significant milestone in this story is the period around 2012 to 2015 when Uranus in Aries squared Pluto in Capricorn.

So think of the conjunction that occurred in the mid-1960s as the beginning and the first square, some 40 or 50 years later, is a test of the energies or consciousness that were being born in the conjunction back in the mid-1960s.

Even today there are still reactionary and conservative forces who are very much opposed to all of that progress.

The period between 2012 and 2015, give or take a few years on either side, was extremely dynamic.

Again, this was the period when Uranus and Aries was squaring Pluto and Capricorn, during which time we had the Arab Spring, ISIS, Occupy Wall Street, Black Lives Matter, #MeToo and the LGBTQ rights movement. Barack Obama was president during this time. Social media, mobile phones and the internet were in their heyday. There was Hurricane Sandy, the Paris Climate Accord was signed, the BRIC nations including China and India began a rapid ascent, the negative impact of dark money really started to become clear, Edward Snowden revealed details of a vast and unprecedented surveillance network, WikiLeaks was active, the news and publishing industries were radically changing. Everything was going online, including entertainment platforms, the anti-austerity movements, there was a lot of tumult and rebellious activity that occurred during this time.

The square is like a testy, challenging aspect where the two forces are kind of at odds with each other and there’s no real clear or easy resolution. And the energies, like I said, that are unleashed from these events can take quite some time to play out.

Donald Trump began to rise to prominence around this time and was first elected in 2016. That was an extremely radical outcome.

We have also seen the rise of a lot of far-right extremism, populists and demagogues, the rising threat of fascism, liberal democracy under attack, in ways that are entirely unprecedented in modern history, concerns about civil unrest, and even the possibility of civil war. We saw Brexit, the post-truth era, rampant conspiracy theories and conspiracy-theorism, extreme forms of fundamentalism, Christian nationalism, and all of these kinds of things.

To put that in a bit of historical context, as I mentioned earlier, Uranus and Pluto conjuncted in 1850-1851, they squared each other in 1932-1934, again with some give and take on either side.

At that time, in the 1930s, Pluto was in Cancer and Uranus was in Aries. Again, that very fiery Mars ruled energy. Cancer can be very protective of home and family, or on a mundane level, the nation.

During that time, of course, we saw the rise of Hitler, which led to World War II, in following years. But it wasn’t just Germany, there were fascistic movements in other countries as well, such as Spain and Italy. Very intense and dark stuff.

Of course, the world was in the midst of a great depression, and programs such as the New Deal under Roosevelt were initiated to try and address that.

The failure of the investment, banking and finance industries created the conditions which led to the rise of far-right extremism and ultimately the Second World War.

The period of the early 2010s, of course, followed closely on the heels of the great housing market and bank failures of 2007 and 2008. The parallels between the early 1930s and the 2010s are eerie.

So we went through another square between Pluto and Uranus, like I said, around the period of 2012 to 2015, and at that time as well, I recall things like Golden Dawn in Greece, which was very fascistic, and these kinds of trends started to show up around that time. And polarization really started to take off then as well. And we saw the spread of propaganda and disinformation.

Many have said that if the US government hadn’t bailed out the banks, there would have certainly been another global depression. There’s many parallels to what happened in the 1930s.

Astrology never repeats exactly twice, because all of the other planets are moving at different speeds. So, for example, in the 1930s Neptune was in Virgo, up until the early to mid-1940s, and in the 2010s Neptune was in Pisces. And of course, Pluto has been in Capricorn more recently, whereas in the 1930s it was in Cancer.

So these are different energies and things played out differently, but there’s a lot of parallels and similarities between these periods and these events and the timing of them,

And that is what I want to make people understand. Because I have heard people make reference to, “Oh, astrology explains this, what’s going on.” And a lot of it can be explained by this cycle.

So to some degree, and again I’ll be putting dates on the screen – I’m not going to state them all here because there’s just too many of them and it’ll bore people – but the whole time that Pluto and Uranus are in squaring signs, they are kind of at each other in a somewhat antagonistic relationship.

So, for example, when Pluto was in Capricorn and Uranus was in Aries, there was that tension there.

As of now, at the time of this recording, Uranus is in Taurus, Pluto just retrograded back into Capricorn until early 2024, then it will resume its journey through Aquarius through the mid-2040s.

So Uranus and Pluto aren’t actually squaring each other anymore, in effect, is what I’m getting at.

So there was a period when Pluto was in Capricorn and Uranus was in Aries. These are both cardinal signs. And Aries is very fiery and can be assertive and aggressive and even violent in its lower expression.

And Capricorn represents the institutions and power structures of our society, everything from corporate to the law and government and so forth.

So we’ve seen tremendous amount of activity in those areas where there’s been people fighting for their freedom and independence against what they perceive as tyranny, or trying to, conversely, impose tyranny on others.

The energy can go either way. It’s kind of up to us how we express it.

But the bigger point of all of this is that we’re out of that square energy. Uranus left Aries on March 6th of 2019.

So there will be some spillover of these energies into subsequent years. But the really intense phase of that, or the triggering phase, is over. It may not look like it because things are still playing out.

Like for example, in the United States, a lot of people who abused their power or broke the law are starting to be held accountable for actions that they committed years ago. Hopefully as they are prosecuted and held accountable and brought to justice, that will put a damper on things.

Another example is it looks like Putin’s days are numbered because of his failures in Ukraine. Reality is coming to bear on all of these people and all of their actions.

Saturn is currently transiting Pisces through 2026. Pisces rules the 12th house.

One of the things the 12th house was traditionally associated with was imprisonment. Both Saturn and the 12th house are karmic. It is where we are held accountable for our karma.

During part of this cycle there was a conjunction of Pluto and Saturn on January 12th of 2020, which was significant as well because Pluto was conjuncting Saturn in its own domain. And the Saturn-Pluto cycle is a whole other subject, but that is considered to be an important development that is also often linked to the rise of the far right. Authoritarianism, fascism, and those kinds of things.

So it’ll take some time for these things to play out, but overall my point is that we are through the worst of it.

The next major aspect between these two planets will occur between 2046 and 2048, which will be the opposition, with Pluto in Pisces and Uranus in Virgo. That is a very polarizing energy as well, and that should be a very dynamic and important milestone. That’s over 20 years from now. But those of you who are younger, take note. There will be a lot of major developments at that time.

I know there’s a lot of dates and terminology. Just to summarize, the main point I wanted to make was that we can look at the conjunction of Uranus and Pluto as the beginning of major new cycles or developments, and often they move us forward to a new level.

Then there’s the squares, which challenge whatever occurred during the conjunction. It tests it. In the case of 2010s, it was questioning how far have we come with respect to what was brought forward in the 1960s, those new ways of being, there was kind of a battle between the two opposing forces.

That gets settled out, the next one will be the opposition in the 2040s when Pluto has essentially begun its transit of Pisces, which that in and of itself should be huge, because Pisces can on a higher level represent spirituality, the non-material realms, and things like psychic phenomenon, but it can also represent major endings and letting go, to create space for the new.

Pisces rules the 12th house. It’s not about ego or materialism.

So we went through a lot of tumultuous times in the 2010s and we’re still dealing with that now. But like I said, those energies aren’t really directly square to each other anymore. We have other issues going on.

Pluto in Aquarius I have talked a lot about here on my channel. I’ll put links to some of those episodes here as well, which I would encourage you to listen to. A lot of the things I predicted actually came to pass within fairly short order of Pluto moving into Aquarius. It’s just at the very beginning though, so it will take some time for that to really fully manifest.

And now we are also starting to become aware – and I think this occurred just after Pluto went into Aquarius – he masses are starting to realize the implications of the climate and environmental crisis. It’s now in everyone’s faces. And people are having direct experience with it.

Aquarius is very global in scope. It’s about all of us. And the only way to solve those problems is for countries to cooperate. Otherwise, we’re in deep trouble, if we’re not already.

So, humanity is becoming aware of global consciousness, just as I predicted.

Pluto moving into Aquarius, when it settles in there, is really about the people. It’s not about the people at the top of the pyramid. So that’s the really important thing to know.

And Aquarius is very egalitarian, and also very rational and intellectual. Whereas a lot of the far-right stuff seems to be driven based on emotion and grievance and things. That is not an Aquarian energy, typically. I don’t see that stuff persisting.

I think we’ll experience that kind of stuff probably from now until early 2024. It’ll make a bit of a comeback. But after that, and Pluto really starts moving into Aquarius, it’s like, forget it, people aren’t going to do that crap.

Aquarius is very progressive, rational, intelligent, and independent. It doesn’t bode well for dogmatic belief systems, trust me on that.

So I hope this is helpful. It’s a huge topic to try and cover in a short period of time, but I wanted to just paint a broad brush, big picture view of this for people so that they could understand what’s going on, why, and what the timing is essentially.

I’ll put links in the episode description to any related content, and if you’re interested in a reading with me, I’ll put a link to that as well.

Many sincere thanks to everyone who supports me, especially my YouTube members.

Thank you very much.

Take care, all the best, and I’ll talk to you again soon.

Bye for now.

The Astrology of Mass Delusion: 2011-2026

I discuss the astrological influences which are contributing to the current and disturbing levels of mass delusion and extremism which humanity has not experienced since the 1930’s.

This is a transcript of an episode of Aquarian Diary I published at 5:02am on June 21, 2023.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all, welcome to Aquarian Diary. I’m your host, John Irving. It is June 21, 2023.

Today I want to give people a general sense of when the insanity and all of the extreme and unhinged behavior we have been witnessing, socially and politically, will draw to a close, or at least begin winding down, as it often takes time for these forces to dissipate.

I’ll be displaying quite a few dates on the screen, you may want to watch this on YouTube if that matters to you.

On June 15th, I published an episode on the Uranus-Pluto square and the rise of far-right extremism, where I focused just on that one aspect and its parallels to the 1930s.

There’s another parallel which I didn’t specifically talk about in that episode, which is the transit of Uranus through Taurus.

Uranus transited Taurus from roughly 1934 until 1942, and is currently transiting Taurus again right now from 2018 through 2026.

The previous transit of Taurus occurred during the Great Depression, which ran from 1929 through 1939, it was ended by the war effort, and World War II, which commenced in 1939 through 1945.

Uranus is the modern ruler of Aquarius, or the 11th house.

Aquarius is fixed air. Taurus is ruled by Venus and is fixed earth.

These signs are in a square or antagonistic relationship to each other. Uranus is in its fall in Taurus. It’s a challenging sign for Uranus to be in. So these energies do not mix well. Uranus is all about change and revolution, and Taurus is all about security and predictability. So Uranus transiting Taurus is challenging.

All signs and planets have positive and negative expressions, and Taurus can be very conservative because it desires security, stability and predictability, and Uranus is anything but predictable.

Like I said, more recently, Uranus has been transiting Taurus since 2018 and will continue to do so through the end of April of 2026.

So we have seen a tremendous amount of change, revolution and instability around Taurian themes like real estate, property, money, investments, where people live, we went through lockdowns, where people were confined to their homes. Many people relocated, they moved from the city to the country or suburbs or even to other countries. People en masse began working from home… Taurus.

There were unprecedented supply chain disruptions, we’ve now been dealing with rapid inflation and greedflation, income disparity and the concentration of wealth in the hands of a few is even more extreme, and so on.

Taurus also rules what we value, so we have seen a tremendous amount of changes occurring around people’s values and a lot of conflicts around values like the culture wars.

Uranus can be quite radical, so we have seen the rise of reactionary conservatism to alarming degrees, such as far-right extremism, authoritarian and fascistic movements who want to impose radically conservative, patriarchal, and hierarchical structures on other people in many of the same ways we saw through 1934 and 1942. In that case, we had an actual World War. Extremely radical behavior and very polarizing social movements.

There are currently ultra-right and openly fascistic movements occurring in countries around the world. These forces are often anti-intellectual, they reject evidence and science, try and rewrite history, they attack and undermine the media, education systems and all manner of institutions, they are frequently misogynistic, racist, bigoted and xenophobic.

They define themselves based on their enemies and create them if they don’t exist. Fascists always need scapegoats, usually the most vulnerable members of society, such as trans children. What could possibly be more cowardly and despicable than picking on vulnerable children?

Propaganda and disinformation are frequently deployed, as are threats, bullying and intimidation.

As we can clearly see, there are many parallels between when Uranus transited Taurus in the late 1930s and early 1940s and recent years.

We have also had Neptune transiting Pisces from April 2011 which will continue through 2025 and 2026. Neptune is extra potent while transiting its own sign.

The lower expression of Neptune can be delusion/illusion/fantasy being detached from reality, escapism, alternative realities.

We have seen cult-like behavior where people have fallen under the spell of demagogues, con men, grifters, while being completely unable to perceive all of their flaws and there’s a lot of projection and illusion going on.

But that also will be wrapping up around 2025/2026, roughly around the same time that Uranus leaves Taurus.

So those are two really important things right there.

Again, check the screen for dates.

So Neptune, transiting Pisces, all of the mass delusion, rampant and observed conspiracy theories, the inability to distinguish truth from lies, willful, if not belligerent, ignorance, denial of facts, evidence, and reality, falling for lies and propaganda and shameless con man grifter criminals. Extreme expressions of victimhood, think Donald Trump or the incel movement, or people constantly whining about the crisis of privileged white male masculinity, being completely detached from objectifiable truth or reality, the post-truth era, all of that.

Uranus transiting Taurus, radical conservatism, radical traditional cultural values – so distorted that it’s almost grotesque, extreme resistance to progress or evolution, the rejection of historical facts pertaining to the oppression of minorities, various racial and ethnic groups, deference to authoritarian and strongman leaders, despite their highly flawed moral character and complete lack of credentials.

Neptune in Pisces and Uranus in Taurus at the same time?

The United States has been the focal point of a lot of the absolute batshit crazy stuff because it has been going through its Pluto return – which I have also done episodes on – from February 2021 and will continue through January of 2024, which is when it was within a tight two degree orb.

Pluto transits are actually in effect for a wider orb than that. That is just the most intense phase. But the most intense phase will be winding down by early next year.

There has been a lot of crazy stuff going on, but there’s no question that the United States has been the focal point globally for the insanity. Just look at how radical and extreme and crazy the Republican Party and the former president and his hapless sycophants have been acting, many of whom may end up incarcerated.

In 2025-2026, Saturn will move into Aries, beginning a whole new 28-29 year cycle. This all points to 2025-2026 as being the end of the post-truth, batshit crazy era.

As much as the reactionary conservative forces are trying to put the genie back in the bottle, you cannot resist these major transits of, like, Pluto shifting into Aquarius, Neptune moving out Pisces, Uranus moving out of Taurus.

If you are in resistance to these outer planetary energies, the transits manifest as being extremely challenging and disruptive. You cannot be in resistance to these energies, they are much more powerful than you are as an individual. So the more liberal or more progressive forces are in a much better position to deal with these changing and shifting energies because they are more comfortable with change and evolution, they are more adaptable and open-minded.

When Uranus moves into Gemini in 2025-2026, it will be in a trine aspect to the sign of Aquarius, where Pluto is beginning its major 20-year long transit. This is power, Pluto, in very harmonious, easy-flowing aspect to Uranus in Gemini.

Again, Aquarius, which Uranus rules, is fixed air, Gemini is mutable air. So that relationship, when Uranus enters Gemini, commencing in 2025 and 2026, speaks of very rapid change and evolution in an air sign. Air signs are intellectual and rational. They are very fast moving energies. These are not slow energies. And like I said, that is a trine aspect that will occur for about seven years.

Again, it all points to 2025, 2026 being the end of the post-truth, bat-shit-crazy, reactionary conservative period with this insane polarization. All of the complete detachment from reality on the political right drawing to a close. So that’s the time frame. We have another two to three years of craziness to go through.

Although, as I’ve said in other episodes, Saturn transiting Pisces is a reality check and Pluto transiting Aquarius is also a reality check in many ways.

So the tide has started to turn, but we should be completely out of all of this craziness in 2025 and 2026. At least the kind of craziness we’re dealing with now.

I have been focusing here on all of the negative expressions of these energies. It goes without saying that the opposite is true as well. In fact, the majority of the people have not been expressing the negative aspects of these things. There are still many people who are very grounded in reality and who are able to differentiate between BS and reality.

So without question, it is clear that these energies are experienced differently depending on the person. Now why some people are predisposed to the negative expressions and others are not probably relates a lot to their own particular astrological natal chart.

And there are many people in the middle who aren’t quite sure where they stand. But for the purposes of this episode, I am just trying to explain why so many people are going crazy and how long it will last, and when it will mercifully end.

Finally, let’s be clear about one important thing. The dark side lies, manipulates, deceives, and engages in criminal activity. The light does not lie, cheat, or steal, just to be clear.

And yes, I am proudly biased in favor of truth and reality.

I understand that much of what’s happening is fueled by grievance, but the answer is not to burn the place down.

It’s funny, when I’m editing this audio, I often stop and think “Oh, I’m being hyperbolic.” and I’ll reflect for a moment, and only a moment, before I realize that I can provide credible examples of what I’m describing, things that have actually happened or are happening right now. I’m not being hyperbolic, this is all actually happening just as I’m describing it. In other words, it really is this bad, currently.

For a fuller and more detailed analysis, I will link multiple other episodes that are related in the episode description, which I encourage you to review.

I’m going to share a few podcasts simply as a public service.

The first is my favorite, and I’ve mentioned it here before. It is Background Briefing with Ian Masters.

I listen to this podcast every day. As far as I’m concerned, this is the best podcast. One of the most amazing things about it is that there’s nothing else like it, and I find that hard to believe. God knows what we’ll do when Ian Masters retires.

The second is a new podcast by the BBC. It is called Mariana in Conspiracyland.

One of the most disturbing things about this podcast is she documents how many people who would have been traditionally progressive are falling into the right wing rabbit hole as a result of conspiracy theories. Anyway, it’s new, check it out.

I personally find it very interesting. It makes me think about the phenomenon of the RFK campaign in the United States. He is being promoted by many libertarian right-wing nut jobs and has the potential to siphon off absolutely critical votes that could help prevent the Republicans from winning the next election. The Republicans winning would be one of the worst possible things that could happen.

Even people in the progressive community are falling under the spell of propaganda, lies and disinformation, and even overtly and transparently racist ones.

It has eerie parallels with the whole MAGA movement and QAnon and things like that. Which to me seems to be a psyop campaign, like something the Russians would do.

I find that quite disturbing. It’s like some kind of weird mind virus, like a mental illness that is being spread around. It’s very creepy and dark.

Many of us have lost people or even loved ones to conspiracy theories. It can be heartbreaking.

The dark side can be very subtle and devious. We need to be constantly vigilant to inoculate us against its poison.

Conspirituality is another podcast in the same vein. It’s intellectually rigorous and does not pull any punches. So set your ego aside.

Another podcast I have been listening to now for quite some time is The Bulwark with Charlie Sykes.

This is coming from a never Trump perspective. So it’s quite unusual for me to listen to something like this, but the quality of the analysis around what’s going on with Republicans and the former guy is very good and very intelligent. So it gives a different perspective than what I normally would listen to.

I subscribe to many, many podcasts, but those are a few that I thought would be relevant to this episode.

I’ll put links in the episode description to any related content and if you’re interested in a reading with me, I’ll put a link to that as well.

Many sincere thanks to everyone who supports me, especially my YouTube members. Thank you very much.

Take care, all the best, and I’ll talk to you again soon.

Bye for now.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all!

Welcome to Aquarian Diary.

I’m your host, John Irving. It is July 6th, 2023.

On January 17th of 2023, yes, almost six months ago, it’s hard to believe that’s how things roll around here, but on January 17th I got this very strange download. It just came to me extremely clearly.

Now, don’t jump to conclusions, but the download was 2028, 40 percent, and I stopped, and I’m like, 2028, 40 percent what? That was all I got. I’m not like some of the psychics who can have conversations with their guides.

So I believe that was in the evening, and then the next day I started looking at the astrology, and I saw something in 2028 that really jumped out at me, as I hadn’t looked at it before. Sure enough, there is a truly remarkable alignment in June of 2028, and I was kind of like, wow, this is big.

One of the reasons I didn’t do an episode on this is because I intended to fully look into this in a great deal of detail. That’s one of my problems.

I’m a bit of a perfectionist, and I can go down rabbit holes when I start looking into things. And it becomes like a huge task because, you know, you could, for example, look at all the natal charts for the various big players out there, the big countries and things, and see what’s happening, and analyze it. And you know, like that’s like an insane amount of work, which I just don’t have that kind of time, or haven’t.

And of course, there’s also a lot of other things going on all the time, every day almost, that are really big, that need to be talked about as well. So it’s overwhelming.

And then I just recently did a big long episode with Scott Becker, and I did a conversation with Irish Granny Tarot (links in the description) and I did another little episode that I haven’t published yet, and blah, blah, blah.

Around that time, not long after I first got the download, I did discuss it with one person though, and I sent them the chart. She knows who she is.

But then this whole 2028 thing has been on my mind again, at the forefront of my mind for a few weeks, and I’ve just been kind of like, I got to get that done, I got to get that done.

So what I’m going to do is I’m going to give you the charts and the dates, and I will briefly describe what’s going on astrologically.

One of the things about astrology that irks me, not so much astrology, but astrologers, is if you go back in time and you actually listen to other people’s forecasts, where they state that specific things are going to happen in such and such a time frame, there’s a very low success rate from my perspective.

Astrology can indicate themes, for sure, like it’s incredibly useful and important, but it’s very hard to predict specific events in the future. And so I kind of refrain from doing that. I will describe themes and situations and general conditions, but how it’s going to play out specifically is very, very difficult to predict.

And like I said, that’s borne out by the evidence if you go back and listen to other people’s predictions. So I just refrain from doing that.

And another thing is when people talk about astrology, when they’re looking back at history, is they will often cherry pick certain things like, “Okay, this is an example of that aspect at that time.”

But the truth is that the world is very big and there are events of all kinds happening everywhere all the time. So it’s really easy to go back in time and say, “Oh, that event is linked with this transit.” They’re not talking about the events that contradict that. That’s to me kind of cherry picking.

Yes, there are certain historical events that affect the whole world, like world wars and things like that, or a depression, or the invention of some technology that completely changes the future. Those are really big deals. But we have to be careful, like I said, that we’re not cherry picking.

This aspect will be in tight orb for some time. But around June 24th of 2028, Pluto in Aquarius, and I’ve done episodes on that topic alone, it’s a big deal, squares Saturn and Chiron in Taurus, around seven or eight degrees of Taurus.

And at the same time, there is a triple conjunction in Gemini in very close orb, Uranus, Mercury, and Mars.

And there’s one other point here, which is that the North Node is at 23 degrees of Capricorn. And the very significant Saturn-Pluto conjunction, which occurred on January 12th of 2020, was at just under 23 degrees of Capricorn.

So the North Node, which is this faded kind of karmic point, is basically conjunct where the Pluto and Saturn conjunction occurred in 2020.

So we have Pluto squaring a conjunction of Saturn and Chiron in Taurus, a triple conjunction of Uranus, Mercury, and Mars in Gemini at 11 and a half degrees. And the North Node is at the same point as the Saturn-Pluto conjunction of January 2020.

That is an awful lot of major synchronicity. The odds of all of these things occurring at the same time must be minuscule.

The June 24, 2028 Saturn square Pluto, and Gemini stellium, North Node at 23 degrees Capricorn, astrology chart.

Above graphic: The June 24, 2028 Saturn square Pluto, and Gemini stellium, North Node at 23 degrees Capricorn, astrology chart.

In astrology, really significant events tend to occur when we have multiple outer planet activity, typically in heavy aspect, occurring at the same time. And here we have a whole slew of things happening simultaneously, any one of which would be challenging.

Saturn and Chiron transiting Taurus on a mundane level, Taurus rules finances, money, property, investments, and banking.

Typically when Saturn transits Taurus, because Saturn is restricting and limiting and karmic, that period of time tends to mark challenging economic or financial circumstances for humanity, because the energy of Taurus is being restricted.

But there’s also that energy of Chiron there and Chiron deals with wounding, usually in our formative years and often dealing with past lives. So there’s wounding and restriction and limitation occurring in the financial sector.

Now Pluto square Saturn is a really challenging aspect. These are very heavy hitting, powerful and intense energies at cross purposes with each other. Squares are no joke, especially when they involve heavy hitters like this.

And the conjunction of Saturn and Pluto, which occurred in 2020, was the beginning of this kind of dark cycle. You know, Pluto deals with power, power which can go either way, it can be abused, power control, domination, and things like that.

The Jan 12, 2020 Saturn, Pluto, Sun, Mercury conjunction in Capricorn and Capricorn stellium astrology chart.

Above graphic: The Jan 12, 2020 Saturn, Pluto, Sun, Mercury conjunction in Capricorn and Capricorn stellium astrology chart.

And because of the involvement of Chiron, it’s an especially challenging aspect.

Now we’re dealing with Pluto and Saturn and in that equation, Pluto is more of the heavy hitter because it’s the more distant planet, its orbit is much slower than Saturn’s. If there’s an argument, Pluto tends to have its way.

But nonetheless, there will be consequences for humanity. It’s like there’s a conflict between our social needs collectively, this very egalitarian energy of Aquarius and pragmatic reality having to do with the economic system and finances. You know, that alone is a big deal.

And the square of Pluto and Saturn relates to what occurred in 2020 when the cycle began. This is the first real challenge.

Whatever came up at that time, and let’s face it, a lot has occurred since 2020, and we know the kinds of topics. This square brings all of that stuff back into our awareness and we need to look at how we have handled things between then and 2028.

And then we have this extremely unpredictable energy of Uranus, which, you know, in times can actually create trauma because it can be so shocking. It can completely destabilize things and introduce things into the mix that are, like I said, completely unpredictable and surprising. It breaks up structures and we have that kind of energy, which is, Uranus is incredibly intense and very sharp and focused in time, combined with Mars and Mercury. Mars, we know, the god of war, and Mercury, the mind and communication, the intellect, the messenger.

So, that triple conjunction right there is like, you know, you think Gemini, you think words and communication, or at the very least, some very shocking and dramatic news or information that maybe pertains to conflict or the military or accidents or acts of violence, Mars. And I mean really shocking, really surprising and even traumatic.

Another thing I thought about was Taiwan, because I believe China even stated that they want reunification by 2028.

But it’s happening at the same time as this Pluto-Saturn square, with the North Node being conjunct, the Pluto-Saturn conjunction point from 2020.

The major incident that changed the world, I have to be very careful what words I use so as not to trigger the platform to penalize me or censor me. But let’s just say, a lot of people had to stay home for a significant amount of time and, you know, wear something on their face and stuff like that. And no, I’m not recording this from Beijing or Moscow or Florida.

Anyway, that disease that started in China really started coming to our attention in very early 2020. The Pluto-Saturn conjunction was in January of 2020. So that seems to be a clue, because the square is linked to that.

Like I said, we can’t predict exactly what’s going to happen, but I can fairly safely say that it will involve economics and finances, and maybe even the Earth, because Taurus is an Earth sign. And Taurus also governs a lot of aspects of nature and the harvest and agriculture.

So I don’t know if it’s environmental. I don’t know if it’s economic. I don’t know if it represents conflict, like war or something, or a widespread contagious disease.

Neptune is in Aries at this point. Aries is a fire sign, and Neptune in the past has been associated with diseases, large-scale ones. But it’s been in Aries for a few years by this point.

The chart I’m using here, I just set the Ascendant to be Aries, so it would have a natural house system, just to make it easier to look at. So you can kind of ignore the Midheaven and the Ascendant, because they will vary depending on where you are.

And I wouldn’t give too much attention to the other more personal planets, because they move and change signs very quickly. It’s more the outer planets and their involvement with the inner planets that I think we should focus on here.

Like I said, I’m not going to speculate on exactly how this manifests, because I just know from years of experience that that is probably a fool’s errand. But you know, the big major issue we had in recent years where people had to stay home, a lot of them, 2020, where Pluto and Saturn conjuncted in Capricorn, the square could relate to those kinds of events.

And the 40% figure I mentioned that came to me in my download, I don’t know what that pertains to. It could be economic, it could have something to do with the population, and I could just be completely wrong about that. But I have to be honest, it literally came through that figure, 40%.

We do and are facing extremely challenging environmental issues. And by then, I think by 2028, they will probably be much worse.

So, you know, one of the ways that civilization might get through that is to lessen its footprint. I’m not saying that’s going to happen, but it would help us cope with those kinds of things.

I don’t want that to happen at all, by any means. I don’t think we need a disorderly situation. I would prefer that we do things orderly.

There’s also the timeline split, which I have talked about here before. And according to Dolores Cannon, that process was to occur in the early to mid-2020s. 2028 would probably be at the end of that cycle.

And finally, one other point which has been on my mind now for a few weeks, which is that if there was a very major event that was going to occur on Earth, that was outside of our control, as individuals at least, would Spirit tell us about that?

I suspect not, because what purpose would that serve? It would only create a lot of stress and anxiety for no reason. And I know for a fact that they don’t tell us everything. I know that from personal experience. Some things are on a need-to-know basis only. So, I’m not convinced that we would have a lot of warning about certain things.

Some people might, just before an event, like I had some experiences at the very beginning of 2020 that only made sense to me after things unfolded more, that I was actually in a lot of resistance to. But nonetheless, in hindsight, I’m glad it worked out that way. But I wasn’t told explicitly what was going to happen, if you understand what I’m getting at.

So, as we get closer to that time, some more information might start to come out. But I don’t think the general public is going to be given a lot of details about something like this, if it proves to be something significant. And I think that’s just something we have to accept, that we’re not supposed to know everything, especially if it doesn’t serve a beneficial purpose.

Needless to say, if you have significant points or planets at, say, 7, 8, 9 degrees of Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo, or Taurus, or, say, 10, 11, 12 of Gemini, Virgo, Sag, or Pisces, you’ll want to pay attention to this. Obviously, it’s not for 5 years, but these are pretty intense energies.

And if you’re Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo, or Taurus, you’re going to be getting this square of Pluto and Saturn hitting those points at the same time.

Or, like I said, if you have planets or points at 10, 11, 12 Gemini, Virgo, Sag, or Pisces, you’re going to get that triple conjunction.

It’s probably more the square that I’d be most concerned about.

But Uranus-Mars, you have to be careful with, because Mars can manifest as accidents, injuries, acts of violence, those kinds of things. And Mars moves pretty fast, so it would only be for a few days, typically.

But Pluto and Saturn are going to be in square for a while.

That’s just a quick look at it, without me having to spend days and days and days working on this, producing graphics and charts, and getting into all the minutiae of all the aspects and details.

Anybody who studies astrology can look at this in more depth, compare it to natal charts of countries, and so forth.

But it’s been on my to-do list for 6 months. So there you go, I’ll leave it there. I’ll leave it for you to speculate about, and think about, and ponder.

On July 3rd, I had a very nice and interesting, long conversation with the fabulous Irish Granny Tarot. I’ll put a link in the description to that as well, in case you haven’t already listened to that.

Thank you very much, Helen, for having me on your excellent channel, and for all of the wonderful work you have done, on behalf of our community. Very important.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all, welcome to Aquarian Diary. I’m your host, John Irving.

It is November 19th, 2023. The bulk of this was recorded on November 18th.

As I often do, I will be displaying some graphics or articles on the screen that will only be visible in the video version of this episode, in case that matters to you.

It’s been a while since I’ve recorded anything, and my absence may seem a little odd. I’ve certainly thought a lot about recording at various times.

But this period has been very weird and peculiar. It started with an eclipse in October that was right on one of my key points in my astrology chart. This is a life-altering event.

On top of that, my ruling planet Jupiter has been retrograde, and Saturn has been squaring my sun. Not only that, but it retrograded and then basically stationed direct right as it was squaring my sun, which really extended that aspect in terms of time. One of the things about a transit like this with Saturn is that your physical energy and vitality can be quite low, and that’s probably coming through in my presentation right now. Another reason to lay low.

I’ll probably do an episode on that Saturn aspect once it’s complete, because I have a lot of observations that may help other people who are grappling with that transit. I’ve been paying a lot of attention to what has been coming up, both internally and externally, during this time. And I have a lot to say about that, which, like I said, I’ll get to at a later date. I don’t like to talk about things too much when I’m in the midst of it, because, based on my experience, you need to be able to see it in hindsight to fully appreciate it, or articulate it.

Of course, there’s an awful lot going on in the world these days, much of which I would like to comment on.

I still have been doing an awful lot of reading, and I listen to podcasts from around the world, so I have a lot of opinions about things, quite strong ones actually. But I still have this sense, which I have articulated here before, that this is kind of a time to lay low and not stick your head above the trenches too much.

I think as is clear, we can see that there’s a lot of people who have been getting into a lot of trouble lately by expressing their opinions in ways which might have been avoided if they had taken a little bit of time to think about what they were saying.

Also, a lot of what is occurring is exactly what I was describing in the episode that I did titled Pluto at 29 degrees of Capricorn, a karmic reckoning. We are seeing things very clearly. Much of it is not pleasant, but that’s not unexpected.

It’s just that world events are forcing people into positions, and they can be very stark and dramatic. Whether we agree with them or not.

So it’s like the light is shining on everyone and everything, and it is causing people to question their beliefs and their assumptions and their allegiances. And to me, from that perspective, it’s a good thing because we’re seeing things as they are. It’s like we’re cutting through the fog.

Like I said, that may not be pleasant, and we may not like it, but at least we are seeing the truth about who people are, where they stand, what their intentions are, and so forth.

There’s a lot of criticism about people in various camps right now, especially about what’s happening in the Middle East. And young people in particular are taking a lot of heat for their perspectives.

I am in no way advocating disinformation, conspiracy theories, propaganda, or such. If you’ve listened to me before, you know how much I disdain that.

However, I do think that it is good that people are strongly expressing their views, because that is what we need. Strong chills here. That is what we need for society and democracy to function properly. We need people to be engaged and vocal.

And so I think the fact that young people are taking stands, even if they’re not necessarily fully informed or accurately informed, is a good thing. Yay! I’ve been for years saying that the key to our future lies in getting young people engaged. I think that’s fantastic.

So I had a bit of time where it’s quiet here, relatively, and there’s not a lot of stuff I can do because we’re in the midst of a big rainstorm here today. And I was thinking, how do I get on and talk about what I want to talk about or say what I need to say, which is a lot of things that have been on my mind lately, without alienating a lot of people or becoming a target myself.

And as I was contemplating this, something that happened in my youth came to my mind, a memory. And as I reflected on this, I realized that that is perfect. So I don’t know where this came from. It’s not something I think about very often, but it was a striking experience in my younger years.

And it goes like this:

Back in 1980, I was still a teenager. My very first job.

I used to do all kinds of things to make money when I was a teenager, like everything from painting people’s houses to doing yard maintenance to whatever, you know, short term things. But this was my first legitimate job with a paycheck and so on.

And I was an usher at a movie theater, briefly, as it would turn out. Remember, this is 1980, so it’s well before the days of the internet.

And the movie at this time was The Elephant Man. Fantastic movie, if you’ve never seen it. It’s slow and it’s black and white, but it was groundbreaking at the time.

So the movie was playing and I was in the lobby sweeping up popcorn from the floor or whatever in my really ill-fitting, cheap suit that they gave me, which was really ugly. This is an absolutely true story. And a couple comes into the lobby. They’re very upset.

They explain that there’s been a car accident, that there’s someone in the theater that they need to get ahold of because they need to go to the hospital to approve an emergency surgery on someone who has been severely injured in this accident.

And I’m a teenager, remember, at this time. And my first reaction was like, holy shit.

So I go to the manager and I say, we need to stop the movie and make an announcement. There’s a serious life-threatening situation. And I explained to him what’s going on.

And he refuses to do this. He says, we can’t interrupt the movie. They’ll have to wait.

And I was dumbfounded.

I didn’t know what to do, but I thought about it very quickly. And I’m like, someone could die if we don’t do this. This is crazy. You’re putting one screening of this movie ahead of this life-threatening situation.

And I’m sure everybody in the audience will understand why we’re doing this if we do it. So I go back to the manager and I say, we have to do something about this. Then the people were very upset and understandably so.

So he still refuses to do it.

And I look at the people and I think to myself, oh my God, what do I do?

So right there on the spot, I made a decision.

I walked into the theater. It was dark. I go in front of the screen and the movie’s still playing.

And I say very loudly, there’s an emergency.

Would so-and-so please come to the lobby if you’re here?

Please everyone pay attention.

If so-and-so is here, please come to the lobby. It’s urgent.

And then I go back to the lobby.

I take off my jacket. I hang it up and I walk out of the theater and I never go back.

That was my first job.

I was put in this incredibly important ethical and moral dilemma where I had to make a really snap decision.

And I basically walked away from my first job because I had to do the right thing.

So the moral of this story is that sometimes we have to make sacrifices to do the right thing.

And when situations are very clear cut and we weigh the pros and the cons, in that scenario, yes, that whole audience was inconvenienced by my interruption and some of them might have even been upset.

And I lost my job by defying the manager, but I had to do the right thing.

And so in this situation that’s occurring in the world right now, there is no justification for harming or endangering the lives of innocent civilians. Every possible measure and step should be taken to avoid doing that. Period.

Yes, we have the right to protect ourselves, but we do not have the right to harm innocent bystanders.

If something really terrible happened in the United States and the police had to go after an individual or even a group of individuals to bring them to justice, and in the course of doing that, they killed many innocent people to get their hands on a few guilty ones, the moral outrage, which would be entirely justified, would be of epic proportions.

Even if somebody has done something heinous, you cannot harm tens, hundreds, thousands of innocent people in seeking justice, because that is not justice. You are creating more injustice by doing that. And there is karma associated with that. It’s a very fine line.

Sometimes in conflicts innocent people get harmed. That happens. But every possible measure to avoid that occurring has to be taken.

It is simply not ethical to intentionally harm innocent people or bystanders. It’s black and white. It’s really simple. I challenge anyone to question that fundamental premise.

For example, how can a child or an infant be guilty of heinous crimes?

So, people who are calling for a ceasefire or a humanitarian pause are justified. It doesn’t mean that the guilty cannot be found and prosecuted or rooted out. It’s a question of how you do it.

And there is no moral justification for engaging in activity that harms thousands of innocent men, women, and children, that is disproportionate to the crimes that instigated the conflict in the first place. We have to hold ourselves to a higher standard than the criminals.

That’s why we have very complex legal and judicial systems. We go to great lengths to protect the innocent and to ensure that the guilty are actually guilty before they are charged.

It’s not a perfect system, but just think about the legal system, for example, in the United States, how complex it is. How many hoops you have to go through.

And we really go out of our way to make sure that justice is applied fairly accurately and reasonably, the thought of, for example, executing somebody who is innocent is horrific, and everyone agrees that we want to avoid that.

Now, I know a bit about the history here, and I know that there are grievances on all sides, and I’m not going to get into the history of it because that is a Pandora’s box. That’s not my point.

My point is that morally and ethically we have to hold ourselves to the highest possible standards, period.

One of the things I’ve been witnessing is that there’s a tremendous amount of tribalism at play. And to me, tribalism is very low consciousness. It is old paradigm.

There really is only one tribe. There isn’t many. We have different cultures and religious groups and so forth. Fair enough. That’s what makes life on earth interesting.

But fundamentally, we are all human beings, and we all have the same rights and privileges. It doesn’t matter about our ethnicity, culture, religion, country of origin, and so forth. Those are completely secondary to that.

So we should never unequivocally support any group, organization, or cause if what they’re doing is wrong.

And that is the moral of my story about the theater, is that what the manager was asking me to do was unethical and immoral, and I had to make a sacrifice to put my foot down and make a decision on the spot, without a lot of time to think about it, to do the right thing.

It’s black and white when you simplify it to its basic moral dilemma, as far as I’m concerned.

I also want to add that from my perspective, there is a fair amount of bias in politics and in the media, where we’re often not really hearing a lot of balance.

It seems to me that more people are speaking out about the disproportionate response and the consequences of that, but often you will also hear that a lot of people who express those kinds of concerns pay significant prices for doing so.

It is entirely legitimate to criticize military action that appears to be inappropriate. That is completely legitimate.

And I often see a lot of cases where, for example, criticism is conflated with anti-semitism, and they’re not necessarily the same thing.

I’m not talking about supporting the group that initiated the attack on October 7th.

But people being censured or losing their jobs, or being persecuted or blocked from advocating for a humanitarian pause or a ceasefire, is completely unconscionable if you actually think about it.

These are peace protesters. Not all of them, but the majority of them.

This is not the same situation as Ukraine, where one country tried to illegally steal another country. This is a totally different situation.

I will put in the description several links that describe how aides and people who work on foreign policy are critical of the Biden administration for not promoting a ceasefire.

And the reason I’m sharing that is because it validates that there are reasonable people within the administration itself who are dissenting voices, who are speaking out about this.

These are well-informed, intelligent people who are questioning these policies and the unquestioning support for what is occurring now. That simply validates my point or my perspective. The people who are questioning this are not just fringe, far-left people. These are advisors to the current administration. These are trusted advisors.

So yes, we should be debating this and its merits, or lack thereof, and that is completely 100% legitimate, and we should always do that. Whenever there’s war or conflict, we need a very balanced approach and perspective.

And one of the things that really concerns me about this the most is that it seems to me that, like I said, there is a bias, and that people who are questioning what’s happening are being targeted and even attacked. Just because you don’t support the tactics that are currently being employed doesn’t mean you’re anti-semitic.

I really encourage people, especially Americans, to read the news from other countries. Canada, the UK, Europe, Germany, Australia, wherever.

I remember very vividly during the Gulf War, I was traveling in Europe, and I would watch CNN at night just to catch up on what was happening. And I was shocked, it was jaw-dropping, how different the European CNN broadcasts were compared to what was broadcast in the United States.

It may be different now, but back then, they had their own reporters and hosts who were based in Europe. It was really something to behold.

I was so struck by this that I couldn’t stop talking about it. It’s like two different universes from the same network.

So American news has a particular style and presentation that is very different from what you get, for example, in Europe. Places like The Guardian, which is one of the top news publications in the world by traffic, has a very different style and presentation than, say, The Washington Post or The New York Times.

So again, I just really encourage people to check out different perspectives to make sure that you’re not stuck in an information bubble.

I also want to take this opportunity to express one more point of concern. Clearly, there is an awful lot of darkness being expressed in the world right now. A lot of us, I think, feel like we are being yanked back into some old paradigm that is very ugly in many ways. And this can be quite disturbing.

I myself have not read many of the details about what’s happening on the ground in the Middle East since October 7th. I follow it at a high level, but I find it very difficult to focus on the trauma that is being experienced on the ground. It’s very dark.

And there are many other things going on politically and environmentally that are also very disconcerting.

I’m a realist when it comes to what’s happening in the world. And I have been very critical of things like conspiracy theories, the rise of authoritarianism and populism, the move by those on the right into increasingly extreme positions, Christian nationalism, etc.

Now, clearly, there are people who disagree with my perspective, and I don’t typically shy away from expressing my honest opinion about these kinds of things.

One of the tactics that is commonly employed by people who are offended by those kinds of statements or observations is to use ad hominem attacks.

They will say, for example, that you are being dark or excessively negative, even if you’re simply stating facts. And people who use ad hominems do so because they can’t refute your statements with facts or evidence or logic, so they attack the person or their character. It is not a tactic that I respect.

But as truth-tellers, we need to be aware that there are people who are going to be offended by what we state or observe or point out, and that these people will try and undermine us.

To me, it is quite self-evident when this is occurring, and I assume that most reasonable people are capable of identifying when that’s happening. But that may not always be the case, and we need to be vigilant to not allow such attacks to undermine us or cause us to shut up, because that is exactly what the intent is.

The intent is for us to go away, stop speaking our truth, to shut us down, so that the people we are offending can just carry on with whatever it is they’re doing, unchallenged.

Because of everything that’s happening in the world right now, a lot of us can feel like we’re under attack, like our beliefs, our perspectives, our worldviews are being questioned and we’re under attack, and we may even feel hopeless at times.

But I’m urging you to not do that, to maintain your strength, to know yourself, and not allow what’s happening to beat you down, because that is exactly what the dark side wants to happen.

There is a push and a pull going on right now between an old paradigm and a new paradigm, and the new paradigm I have described a lot on my channel, especially in my episodes about Pluto transiting Aquarius, and Pluto will re-enter Aquarius again on January 20th of next year. That’s only about two months from now.

So between now and then, Pluto is going to be hitting 29 degrees of Capricorn. I’ll put the dates on the screen. And this is one of the final battles between these two paradigms.

The energy should shift back more into where we would like it to be probably come January 20th of 2024, the last time Pluto shifted into Aquarius, I felt the shift almost immediately.

So hang in there, and don’t let all of the screams and the agonies of the death throes of this old paradigm cause you to question your core beliefs, values, or positions.

It really is kind of like a spiritual battle that’s going on. The truth will always win in the end, it just may take a bit of time.

I’m not suggesting that on January 20th everything is going to suddenly be resolved, but the tide will have turned, and the momentum will again start moving towards this more egalitarian future that is our destiny.

Pluto will dip back into Capricorn one more time next year, and that is between September 1st and November 19th of 2024. That should be especially interesting because it’s just going to retrograde into 29 degrees of Capricorn and then station direct at 29 degrees just for that 6 or 7 week period. That should be absolutely fascinating to witness.

A quick update on some near-term transits.

I posted on my community tab last night about Mars and the Sun being conjunct most of this week all the way through next weekend really. So watch your temper and think twice before you speak anything contentious or challenging, and watch out for that coming at you the other way, because people can be acting quite aggressively right now without thinking about what they’re saying, and then they may end up regretting it later. Also watch out for rash and impulsive behavior that you may also regret later. You can use this energy to get out and do some physical stuff, like whether it’s chores or exercise, it’s really good for that.

The Sun and Mars are currently in Scorpio. Scorpio is a very intense sign, so that adds to what I’ve been describing.

For example, what’s happening with Elon Musk right now is a classic example of that. Just look at how much his tweet cost him and X, formerly Twitter.

Neptune goes direct on December 6th in Pisces.

Jupiter goes direct on December 30th.

Saturn went direct on November 4th. That’s a good thing.

And the effect of the eclipses back in October are still playing out, as we can clearly see.

Jupiter is continuing its transit of Taurus until May 25th of 2024. I mention this because in terms of the incredible inflation that we’ve been experiencing, and the cost of living crisis that is being felt around the world, things like greedflation and price gouging, financially it’s been crazy lately. The stock market is still doing surprisingly well.

When Jupiter leaves Taurus after May 25th, I believe we should see things start to settle down in those regards. In terms of everything being insanely expensive, paying more for smaller items, reduced packaging size, increased prices, insidious junk fees, corporate profiteering, naked greed, the housing market going berserk, rent prices, all that stuff. Inflationary.

Jupiter is very expansive, and in the money sign of Taurus it tends to exaggerate everything. Taurus also governs things like property and real estate, of course. So like I said, after May 25th, I expect that we should see things start to simmer or calm down a bit in those regards. That will be welcome.

I apologize for my absence, but I’ve really just been following my guidance on that, and I think I’m doing the right thing. I’ve just been keeping busy doing a lot of stuff I’ve been putting off, and that’s been going well. Laying low. Until now.

After this Saturn-square-my-sun transit is over, I’ll probably be back and getting into some other interesting things that have been on my mind.

So I think I’ll just leave it there for now.

Again, for more detail, check the episode description for other episodes or articles that are related or that I mentioned.

And if you’re interested in a reading with me, I’ll put a link to that as well. I have a 20% off Black Friday special on currently. A natal or transit reading makes a great gift, by the way. It’s something people won’t forget.

Many sincere thanks to everyone who supports me, especially my YouTube members. Thank you very much.

Take care, all the best, and I’ll talk to you again soon.

Bye for now.

Drama and Detachment During This Intensely Karmic Cycle

I discuss how I was shown we will benefit from practicing detachment in the near future – or very near future – due to lots of big drama which will be unfolding.

I also discuss how this related to Pluto transiting around 29° Capricorn (the “Anaretic” degree) which I have talked about before, as well as the Timeline Split I have also covered.

Episode transcript:

Greetings, all.

Welcome to Aquarian Diary.

I’m your host, John Irving.

It is August 17, 2023.

This was recorded on August 16.

I will be showing some dates on the screen at various points. If that matters to you, you may want to view this on YouTube.

Something very interesting happened in my spiritual practice a few nights ago, and I felt like I should share it. What happened was that I was shown very clearly how to detach from my emotions or emotional responses to external stimuli. That may sound trivial or trite, but let me explain.

The concept of spiritual detachment is not unfamiliar to me. Anybody who studies or reads about spirituality will come across this idea, which is effectively remaining objective and detached from what is occurring in our lives. And I have experienced that many times in meditation and otherwise.

However, what occurred the other night in my spiritual practice was very unusual, because I felt like I was being shown this very deliberately and intentionally, and it was kind of mechanical.

As anyone who listens to me knows, I’ve stated that I do a lot of reading about current affairs because I’m fascinated with what is happening in the world, I want to know why it’s happening and I want to know what the implications are. So these trends are very important.

But increasingly I’ve been noticing that we’re seeing more and more expressions that are very extreme. Anyone who follows the news will understand what I’m talking about.

And it’s very easy to get into an emotional state when doing this because it can be very disturbing and upsetting. Polarization, as I have stated before, is actually increasing, and I did a whole episode on that. So the darkness in humanity is becoming more and more self-evident, and it can be quite shocking.

I can’t really describe this sort of technique I was shown, but I applied it in my spiritual practice and I found I was able to hold thoughts in my mind while remaining detached from them emotionally. So it wasn’t necessary for me to, for example, turn off my intellect to do that. And that’s the key.

We need to remain aware, but we also need to make sure that it does not take too much of a toll on us emotionally or otherwise.

The reason I’m sharing this is because this experience was very striking to me. Like I said before, these are not new concepts.

After my spiritual practice, I was contemplating why I had that experience, and the next thought I had was, it’s because we’re going to be going through a period where there is going to be a lot of drama. And that is self-evident as well.

So I sense that there’s going to be a lot of things happening that could be quite shocking, and that we need to be prepared for that, and that we need to know how to be aware without being disempowered. And that’s why I’m sharing it, because I suspect that a lot of my listeners are people like me.

And we’re going to need to practice some high-level detachment to get through whatever is going to be occurring in the coming weeks and months or even years.

So it’s a bit ominous because it implies that there may be a lot of rather shocking things that are going to be occurring in the near future.

It’s interesting, since I had that experience, I have been able to read and follow what’s going on and at the same time stay centered and balanced in the face of it.

I still have moments where I go like, “Holy crap, I can’t believe that happened.” This is disturbing. This is shocking. I can’t believe that people can be so dark. But then I can step away from it and detach.

I also think that what’s happening is that this contrast between the light and the dark is becoming increasingly stark, and I feel like there’s a separation occurring, that what this process is doing, and it may very well be related to Pluto’s retrograde back into Capricorn through January 20th of 2024, but that people are kind of choosing their path. People are being divided into two camps, and the current energies are forcing that to occur.

So we are seeing the best and the worst in people, and also situations, governments, leaders, politicians, and so forth. The contrast is so stark and dramatic now that there is no doubt about who is on which side.

How that actually resolves in three-dimensional reality I do not know. There are notions like the timeline split that I have talked about and did a whole episode about, but it’s still a bit of a mystery about how this split actually forms in reality.
What I see is that we are so polarized that we’re not actually going to come back together, because there is no middle ground.

There is right and there is wrong. And if you are allied with the darkness, or even tacitly endorsing it, you have made a decision.

But for now, I think what we need to do, like I said, is be prepared for a lot of drama and ideally have the ability to remain emotionally detached so that we don’t get harmed by that.

We can’t just turn our back on this because the forces of darkness will take advantage of that, but we also have to recognize that things are going to play out the way that they do and that people have picked their sides.

Right and wrong, ethical, unethical, moral, immoral, egocentric, egalitarian, truth versus lies, reality versus illusion, light and darkness.

A lot of people seem to think that people are unwittingly ignorant, that they are merely victims, but I believe now that the contrast is so dramatic that on some level people have consciously chosen their path, that they are culpable for their state of being and their actions. And I think I can make a pretty strong case for that.

This is a major fork in the road. It is an inflection point, so the chips will fall where they may. It’s done.

So that’s what I wanted to share. If anyone is feeling anything similar, please let me know.

I personally felt a huge shift in energy almost the moment that Pluto retrograded back into Capricorn. I was like, “Oh my god, I don’t want to go back into that energy! Here we go again!”

And like I said, Pluto will be back in Capricorn through January 20th. So we have another five more months while Pluto is dancing around the Anaretic 29th degree of Capricorn, which is a very potent degree, and there’s a lot of karma being sorted out there.

I felt much more liberated when Pluto was in Aquarius briefly early this year, and I look forward to that occurring more permanently early next year, but I think this next period of time is going to be particularly intense.

I also want to mention that earlier today I had a regression session with Dr. Nadine Sullivan, who I featured a conversation with on my channel recently, and it was really interesting.

It was not what I was expecting. She has some kind of super power.

We didn’t have a lot of time to debrief after the session because I had another appointment, so I’d like to do that before I comment on it further, but I would highly recommend that you check out her services.

I’ll put a link to her website in the episode description.

It was really amazing.

Someone tried to do this with me years ago and it was very difficult for me to get into a regressed state, but with Nadine it was almost so easy I was a bit shocked.

Definitely check it out. Very interesting.

So thank you very much for that Nadine.

Also just a heads up, Mercury will be retrograding in Virgo in just under a week, August 23rd through September 15th, padding on both ends to allow for stations. I’m sure most people who listen to me know the drill.

I look forward to your comments, feedback, input, and thank you very much for all your support as usual.

I’ll put links in the episode description to any related content, and if you’re interested in a reading with me, I’ll put a link to that as well.

Many sincere thanks to everyone who supports me, especially my YouTube members.

Thank you very much.

Take care, all the best, and I’ll talk to you again soon.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all, welcome to Aquarian Diary. I’m your host, John Irving. It is September 6th, 2023.

As I often do, I will be displaying some graphics on the screen. If you’re listening to this by podcast, you may want to watch it on YouTube if that matters to you.

As usual, I will be putting links in the episode description, which I encourage you to check out and read for yourself.

As I have said before, I do an awful lot of reading every day, especially about the environmental crisis. There are so many things happening now on a daily basis, it’s almost impossible to keep up with it.

And today, in fact yesterday, September 5th, I came across a report that referenced a paper that had just been published in the September 2023 edition of the Lancet Planetary Health Journal.

The reason I’m recording this right now is because this paper effectively validates a of the things I have been saying in my most recent episodes, and it has very striking implications for humanity, for the economy, and of course for the environment.

I haven’t really seen this paper talked about much yet elsewhere. I suspect we will because of the gravity of what it’s saying.

The gist of it goes like this.

For the past decade or so, a lot of the world’s major economies and their politicians have basically been making the argument, and I don’t use the word argument in a negative sense, I mean it as a statement of position.

But back to my point…

This paper does the math and has analyzed this notion that a lot of people in major developed economies have been promulgating, which is that we can basically decouple our economies from greenhouse gas emissions by shifting to green technology and things like that, and that we could continue to have economic growth while we reduced our emissions.

In other words, we could carry on with business as usual, simply by replacing highly polluting technology with green technology. And this analysis basically concludes that that is not happening as remotely fast as it needs to, not even close, despite pledges to do so.

Effectively, the pledges made in the 2015 Paris Climate Accord, which 195 nations are signatories of are all greenwashing and BS. That we are so far off our targets that we are heading towards catastrophe, and that the only way forward based on real-world evidence versus hypothetical or aspirational scenarios is radically changing our economies and lifestyles just as I have been stating in episodes that I have published on this topic.

The Lancet, as I am sure many of you know, is a very highly respected journal.

I could basically quote the whole article here, because it’s all quite jaw-dropping, and I thought about doing that, but basically I would end up reading the whole piece. Because it’s just too much information that’s really important. But here’s a few quotes.

Begin quotes:

At current rates, these countries, these are the major developed countries or economies, would on average take over 200 years to get their emissions close to zero and would emit more than 27 times their fair share of the global carbon budget for 1.5°C.

The scale of the gap between achieved and Paris compliant emissions reductions is dramatic. Among the 11 high-income countries examined, emissions reductions between 2013 and 2019 were on average just 1.6% per year. By contrast, reduction rates of 30% per year are needed by 2025 for countries to comply with their fair shares of the global carbon budget for 1.5°C.

Many major countries, including Belgium, Australia, Austria, Canada, and Germany, will need to reduce their emissions more than 30 times faster than they did between 2013 and 2019 under absolute decoupling.

In light of their findings, the authors say that attempts to pursue “green growth” in high-income countries will not deliver the emissions reductions required to meet the climate targets and fairness principles of the Paris Agreement and argue that a post-growth approach is needed.

They conclude that shifting away from economic growth as a core objective, and instead prioritizing ecological sustainability, well-being, and fairness as development objectives.

Scaling down carbon-intensive and unnecessary forms of production and consumption, for example, SUVs, air travel, industrial, meat and dairy, fast fashion, cruises, mansions, private jets, reducing inequalities in income and wealth, introducing laws to lengthen product lifespans and guarantee rights to repair, shifting away from private cars and improving public transit, bike lanes and walkability.

If we are to prevent even more catastrophic climate breakdown, high-income countries urgently need to pursue post-growth approaches that slash emissions while enhancing well-being and fairness.

End quotes.

Lower income countries will not need to make as radical changes as we do because their emissions per capita are much, much lower than ours.

Quotes:

Politicians and media have been celebrating recent decoupling achievements of high-income countries as ‘green growth,’ claiming this could reconcile economic growth with climate targets.

“There is nothing green about economic growth in high-income countries,” said the lead author Jefim Vogel.

“It is a recipe for climate breakdown and further climate injustice. Calling such highly inefficient emission reductions ‘green growth’ is misleading. It is essentially greenwashing. For growth to be legitimately ‘green’, it must be consistent with the climate targets and fairness principles of the Paris Climate Agreement, but high-income countries have not achieved anything close to this and are highly unlikely to achieve it in the future.”

End quotes.

If you recall, in my recent episodes I have been saying that there is no way that we can carry on with the lifestyles that we currently have, involving so much consumption, pollution, and high energy intensity lifestyles, like what we have been familiar with.

And what this paper demonstrates is that all of the strategies to try and do that in the 2010s were a complete and utter failure. We didn’t even come close to the targets that we need to in order for the world to maintain safe levels of greenhouse gas concentrations, which now are zero, because we blew the budget.

So effectively, it’s validating what I’ve been saying, that our lifestyle is completely unsustainable and not possible based on the laws of physics if we want to maintain a habitable planet.

And even more importantly perhaps, because that’s not entirely surprising, to me at least, is that the policies and the positions of our governments and those who have been promoting the idea that we could continue to increase economic activity while at the same time addressing this crisis are completely wrong and that that logic is completely flawed and untenable, if not deliberately misleading.

If you look at your screen now, I will be displaying a graph which shows where we are headed That’s the red line in a business as usual scenario based on emissions in 2022. The blue line that swoops down and goes really low down to the bottom is where we need to be. As you can see, there is a dramatic difference between the two. This graph comes from the report in the Lancet.

This is really, really important.

It’s one of the most important things I’ve read recently, because now we have the evidence in one paper from a very reputable source that validates that perpetual economic growth is not tenable if we want to maintain our civilization.

And the implications of that are huge.

A few weeks ago I did an episode titled “Our Paradigm is Literally Untenable” and here’s the evidence, a peer-reviewed paper in a highly respected journal.

I’m sharing this because I want people to realize two things. One is that what I’m saying is extremely important. And two is, it’s not just conjecture. We have science and evidence to back up those assertions that I’ve been making. So it gets very real.

This issue is going to persist for decades, if not millennia, and many, many generations. So it has an overriding quality to it.

One of the most remarkable things I read that happened today was that Greece got hit with extreme rainfall. They received 30 inches of rain in the span of a day, effectively.

Can you even imagine what that would be like? That is like having a river everywhere from the sky. And this followed a period of extreme heat and drought and wildfires and then they get slammed with 30 inches of rain.

That’s around 76 centimeters. They normally get half that much in an entire year. It’s almost incomprehensible.

If that were to happen on, say, New York City, it would be a catastrophe, or any highly populated area.

That’s just one event on one day. That was yesterday, September 5th.

So the point of all this is just that here’s hard evidence from a very reputable source that backs up what I’ve been saying for weeks or months and even years now, that our current lifestyles are untenable, literally, and that our institutions, our politicians, the corporate sector, the finance and economic sectors are completely full of BS.

It’s not possible to maintain this way of life anymore, literally. It’d be like trying to defy the laws of physics or gravity or something.

Now, just so you understand, when they talk about decoupling, what they mean is separating emissions from economic growth and lifestyle activities. In other words, we can reduce emissions while we can still have growth and expansion.

And what this study goes on to demonstrate is that in practice not only has that not happened, but we haven’t even come close to the objectives we set in the Paris Climate Accord, which was established in 2015 and to which 195 nations are signatories of currently.

So in effect all of these nations signed up to these pledges and the most developed nations have not come anywhere close to actually keeping them despite everyone claiming that they would. So there’s a huge difference between what countries said they would do versus what they’ve actually done.

And this is really important because if we don’t meet those targets we are going to exceed extremely dangerous thresholds that will threaten the viability of civilization, which is another topic I have discussed here a lot on my channel.

It’s also important to understand what de-growth means in this context. It means probably just what you think it means, but think about that. When, in modern history, has anyone said we need to reduce growth and been taken seriously?

In a recent episode I stated that no politician would be likely to say that, very few of them at least, but that’s exactly what this study is saying, that the only way out of this scenario is to scale back everything.

This is extremely profound. It’s a concept that probably hasn’t really been applied willfully for millennia. That’s how big of a deal it is.

It flies in the face of the vast majority of conventional thinking about the economy, how societies function and operate, what our expectations are as individuals. It’s diametrically opposed to the prevailing paradigm, and yet that’s exactly what we have to do. I’m not exaggerating when I say this is huge.

This idea has been put forward by some people, primarily environmentalists, but not at high levels of government or on any kind of significant policy level. I myself have advocated this for decades, but of course nobody would take that seriously. They would almost laugh at you if you suggested that as a path or course that we should pursue, And now we have irrefutable evidence that trying to maintain the status quo has been an abject failure, and, like I said, is leading us towards utterly catastrophic outcomes.

So as I said in my most recent episodes, we’re being forced into this. The question is, when do we accept that? And when we do, it’s going to radically transform everything about our world as we know it. I cannot overstate how important this is.

And as I’ve said before as well, there is a huge chunk of the population that either this is completely foreign to, or they are in complete and utter denial about it. They can’t even imagine it or conceive of it. But here it is. This is happening right now.

We have to make fundamental changes on a civilizational level, or we’re screwed. And that is exactly what I have been saying here on my channel, and that very few people are actually recognizing. Very few.

One other point that I think is very important is that it’s fairly safe to assume that the assumptions that underlie these targets are probably conservative. What I mean by that is that, especially based on recent empirical evidence, it appears as if warming is occurring more quickly than people expected or anticipated.

And I presume that they are basing their assumptions on data that was used to formulate the Paris Climate Accord in the years leading up to 2015. Well here in 2023, it’s quite evident that the crisis is accelerating in ways, like I said, that we hadn’t fully anticipated.

Therefore, the targets that they’re referencing are probably inadequate to begin with, meaning that the actual reductions that are required and the rate at which they need to be made are probably greater than what was expected back when the Paris Agreement was formulated.

I expect that in the near term we will be seeing data coming out that will show that we can safely emit fewer carbon emissions than we thought we could.

I recorded most of this yesterday, September 5th. And when I woke this morning, one of the first thoughts in my mind was that this is what Pluto transiting Aquarius represents.

One of the things that Aquarius, which naturally rules the 11th house, covers is hopes and dreams. Our collective paradigm is to achieve independence and prosperity, wealth, riches, comfort, security.

And Pluto, which is frequently referred to as bringing a process of death and rebirth, during its transit of Aquarius is going to completely upend all of our dreams about the future, and it will bring an end to those beliefs and expectations that are fundamentally corrupt or untenable. And it will do so on a collective scale, on a planetary scale.

So here we have this problem, and as individuals we can’t really solve this problem. No amount of recycling, for example, is going to address this problem. It has to be dealt with collectively on a planetary scale with all nations of the world participating.

So in terms of mass consciousness, we are beginning to become aware that all of our fantasies and dreams about what’s possible and what’s realistic and what is achievable are completely defunct.

That our way of being – and remember, Pluto’s orbit is about 248 years, so all of the dreams and ambitions that we have been focused on for the past couple centuries, and that takes us back to the beginning of the industrial revolution, which kicked off this whole crisis – are basically up in smoke, quite literally, if we think about all of the out of control wildfires.

And so humanity is going to go through this process of death, of old ideas, old paradigms, old ways of being, and that can be very upsetting and disconcerting. But we need to go through this process of death so that we can renew ourselves and create something that is much better. That’s the death and rebirth process of Pluto.

But even though I’ve done episodes on this before, I hadn’t fully thought about it in this way about our ecological footprint collectively, which currently far exceeds the boundaries or carrying capacity of the Earth’s biosphere, clearly.

And so yes, many ways of being and thinking and many of our expectations and ambitions and dreams about what the world was going to look like are going to die or collapse, like a house of cards.

And it’s really interesting because this paper I’ve been talking about in The Lancet makes the case very clearly that there’s no way of fixing this problem based on our past paradigm of endless growth. It’s literally untenable.

That’s what I hope people understand, that this isn’t just an abstract conceptual discussion about being more environmentally conscious or aware, it is about fundamental and foundational aspects of our reality that are completely defunct and corrupt, and that that is coming to a complete dead end.

Our governments, our institutions, the economy, the corporate sector, everything is about to hit a major, major wall that we cannot surpass if we try and do so with past thinking, or within a past paradigm that is effectively dead.

The vast majority of people probably do not realize this yet, but there will be a shocking awareness, because at some point we’re going to have to hit the brakes, and we’re going have to hit the brakes really hard. And this is going to be extremely upsetting for millions, if not billions of people.

We don’t have a choice. We can either keep going with business as usual and go right over the edge of the cliff, which would probably lead to the complete collapse of civilization, or we stop.

Who has the will or ability to do that? This is a huge question.

Either our leaders are phenomenally and inexcusably incompetent, or they are malevolent, they just don’t care. And we’ve been being lied to on an unprecedented level. Mass deceit and deception that puts our lives at stake, our future at stake, and the habitability of planet earth at stake.

At best it’s gross incompetence, at worst it is criminally negligent on a scale never before witnessed. And that’s what I would like people to start thinking about. We have been sold a bill of goods that enriches a few at the expense of everyone and everything that constitutes our biosphere.

This is one of the biggest events or periods of time in all of human history. Period.

If you think this through, what I’m saying is not hyperbole. It is very, very real.

And we are starting to see the consequences of that now on a dramatic level, but those consequences are going to continue to get worse and worse and worse from here on in, despite everything that has happened environmentally in 2023, it might be the best year we yet see going forward. It’s going to get worse from here on in.

This is a paradigm shift unfolding, and paradigm shifts are really dramatic, and once you go through the shift, your entire perspective and understanding about everything changes, And that is what we are at the early stages of experiencing on a collective level.

Some of us are way ahead of the curve, the vast majority of people haven’t even started to experience it yet, but that’s coming. And there’s going to be a lot of people who are in shock when they find out that everything they believed was a lie, that many of the things they took for granted are simply not true.

On Monday, September 4th, I had a great chat with Irish Granny Tarot. The discussion is on her channel. I’ll put a link to that in the episode description as well.

We had a nice long chat about a whole wide variety of issues. You may find that interesting. Check it out.

Finally, I still have my 20% sale on readings that are longer than one hour. There’ll be a link to that in the description too.

I’ll put links in the episode description to any related content, and if you’re interested in a reading with me, I’ll put a link to that as well.

Many sincere thanks to everyone who supports me, especially my YouTube members.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all!

Welcome to Aquarian Diary. I’m your host, John Irving.

It is December 12th, 2023.

This episode was recorded on December 11th and published on December 12th.

We’re having some very unusual weather here today, with wind speeds up to around 100 kilometers an hour, or 60 miles an hour, so if that’s audible in the background, I apologize for that.

I’m at the final stages of some difficult transits, which have kind of caused me to lay low, as I described in my previous episode, which turned out to be very aptly titled “Drawing Lines”. That episode was published on November 19th.

I want to share with you what I’ve been experiencing and feeling in recent weeks and months.

Before I get into that, a quick heads up about the fact that Mercury will be going retrograde on December 13th in early Capricorn, through January 1st in Sagittarius. Most of you, I’m sure, understand the implications of that, with all of the travel plans and purchasing that goes on around this time of year that can introduce some challenges. So be aware of that. I mentioned this in an episode quite some time ago.

One of the main things I want to talk about here today is what has been coming up for all of us, I think, since the powerful eclipses in October. This is going on around the world, and we can see a lot of tumult, politically and socially, pretty much everywhere.

One of the things that I pray for pretty much every day, or set intentions for, actually, is that the light reveal the darkness so that humanity can become aware of what is actually happening, so that we can address those things.

And I particularly focus on people in positions of significant power, authority, privilege, wealth, or influence. And I’ve been doing that for a long time. I actually have a short on that, which provides some text or verbiage that you can use in your own practice for that end.

And that has most certainly been happening.

What is occurring right now in the Middle East, in Gaza, to me is extremely shocking for a number of reasons. The scale and ferocity of it is something that I find profoundly disturbing.

But even more so is the fact that many of the people who, in some ways, not entirely, but in some ways, I looked up to, or referenced as good sources, are promoting the dominating narrative, which is enabling these atrocities to occur.

And there are many scholars who have defined what’s happening as just that, whether it’s war crimes, genocide, or ethnic cleansing. Those are extremely powerful terms, all of them. But in many respects, what’s happening meets those definitions.

And again, one of the most disturbing aspects of this is that this is being cheered on by many people who we look up to, and in some cases, even elected, who not only oppose a ceasefire, but are, in some cases, are providing the weaponry and the technology, or the political cover, which is enabling this to occur.

Meaning that they are actively complicit in this. To me, this is extremely disappointing from a moral and ethical perspective.

There is no justification for what is happening, and the fact that the majority of the victims are innocent men, women, and children, who will be forever traumatized by what is occurring.

And I think we can argue that for those of us who are watching what’s happening, it can be quite traumatizing as well. I can certainly say that’s true in my case.

To add insult to injury, much of the mainstream media is disproportionately favoring the dominant narrative. There are many examples where people who have been questioning what’s happening have been shut down, targeted, attacked, and in some cases, removed from their positions, or fired.

This has been very divisive on the left, as everyone knows, I’m sure, because anyone in good conscience finds what’s happening extremely disturbing. That is simply a fact.

When you think about this whole scenario, it undermines our faith in our institutions, our leaders, and those who are supposed to be representing our values.

And perhaps that trust has been permanently broken. How can you forgive somebody who has been condoning atrocities? It’s very difficult.

Sure, there are some people who are simply misled, but we know that even within the Biden administration, for example, there are people within the State Department and staffers and aides to Democratic politicians who have taken steps to voice their concerns and outrage about this situation. So there are good people with good intentions within these institutions who are expressing their outrage.

Yet, despite a brief ceasefire, the atrocities continue and they are being supported diplomatically and militarily in what they’re doing.

All of the people who listen to me, I’m sure, know that the threat of the right, politically, represents a clear and present danger. The former president of the United States and his acolytes have declared very clearly what their intentions are should they be re-elected, and we should all be terrified about that.

But at the same time, like I said, our trust in the alternative has been tremendously degraded. And this is extremely disturbing because it can leave one feeling a sense of hopelessness that we have to choose the lesser of evils when we don’t want to choose any evil at all.

And so what the light of truth is showing us, chills here, is that our system is corrupt no matter how you look at it. That it requires profound transformation from top to bottom.

Now that pretty much jives with everything I’ve been saying on my channel for a very long time, that we need radical transformation.

But this transit of Pluto through the final degrees of Capricorn as it’s finishing up its devastation since 2008 is making it very clear that it is not black and white. That we have work to do on all sides.

Even in my own country here in Canada, there are things going on politically where the governing Liberal Party, who is supposedly center-left, has been engaging in a wide variety of policies that, if you’re an objective observer, cause you to question whether they’re simply just incredibly inept or incompetent or simply serving the interests of the wealthiest in our society.

It’s dumbfounding to behold, actually. I mean, it’s so inept you have to think sometimes that maybe it’s deliberate.

The alternative to the Liberals, who are likely to win the next federal election when it occurs by quite a significant margin because of the incompetence of the governing Liberal Party, who at the same time seem to be completely oblivious, tone-deaf, and indifferent to the mood of the nation, like they’re completely disconnected in a different reality, and they go out of their way to not listen, so they’re intransigent, which makes them seem so arrogant, and the polling keeps showing them going down and down and down, and this has been happening for months.

It’s a death spiral. But they refuse to change course on critical issues. It’s completely baffling.

The alternative is even worse, but people are so pissed off and fed up with the status quo that they are probably going to vote out of resentment. They’re not voting for something, they’re voting against something.

And I express that simply because that trend is occurring around the world right now. That’s exactly what’s happening from Denmark* to the United States to everywhere.

[*Correction: I inadvertently referenced “Denmark'” here. I intended to mention “Netherlands” (ie the recent election of Geert Wilders).]

People are pissed off, and they should be because the system is basically garbage, and our leaders are not reflecting our values accurately, and that is becoming crystal clear to us.

But back to the unfolding tragedy in the Middle East.

The cowardice and lack of moral compass and moral or ethical spinelessness of some people can be gut-wrenching to behold. How can you respect people who are in positions of leadership who are cowardly?

As I have stated here previously, there is a greater onus on those of us in positions of power or privilege to protect the most vulnerable people. Period. Strong chills here. We have a fundamental duty to protect the most vulnerable people, and if we fail that test, we should not be in positions of power or influence. There should be no exceptions to this rule.

The fact that so many people on the so-called left are willing to allow elected representatives or the government to tell universities and students or academics what they can do and what they can think and what they can say should be utterly terrifying.

And I am appalled that people are casually allowing these kinds of things to happen in so-called democracies. This is the road to totalitarianism or fascism.

The hypocrisy is jaw-dropping. How is that better than what we criticize countries like China or Hungary or Russia for doing?

This plays right into the hands of far-right extremists and their agenda to undermine, control, and discredit all of our institutions, whether it’s journalism, the fourth estate, or higher education. And many people applaud or tacitly condone this. It is incredibly naive and dangerous.

Like I said at these final stages of Pluto, Transit, and Capricorn, which I’ve talked a lot about before, and again I’ll put links in the episode description, Pluto re-enters Aquarius for a longer period of time on January 20th of 2024, and it will be there for a very long time, save for about 11 weeks later in 2024. And that marks kind of the new beginning.

When people talk about Pluto transits, they often refer to things like death and rebirth, or the Phoenix rising from the flames of destruction. And this came to me in my spiritual practice a few days ago. We’re in that destruction phase.

But for those of us who are feeling really disheartened and lost or disillusioned right now, like we have nowhere to place our faith, and that includes me, we need to remember that we’re in the death cycle, but there will be a regeneration, a rebirth cycle that will follow.

The old needs to die before something new can be born. So bear that in mind that all of these things that seem to be crashing down around us, they need to be destroyed in order to create a better future.

So we’re becoming aware of all of the darkness because the light is shining on it. That’s the optimistic conclusion to this.

But I can say that I am disgusted by what I have been seeing occurring over the past few months. So much so that it stopped me. It stopped me in my tracks because I felt like there was nothing positive I could say because the news is really bad.

This situation which is occurring right now in the Middle East that has compromised the integrity of so many people who we had put our faith in, where innocent civilians are being starved to death and being bombed relentlessly.

On that note, I will include in the episode description a link to a speech that Chris Hedges published a day or so ago, which is extremely moving.

He is a phenomenally credible person, a very powerful thinker with a lot of real world experience as a journalist who has frequently reported from war zones, including at one time for the New York Times, which resulted in him receiving a Pulitzer Prize. And he articulates his perspective about this situation in Gaza.

And I encourage everyone to listen to it because our media is failing us on this point. And it’s not failing us because of the journalists, let’s be clear about that. It’s just that a lot of journalists who want to counter the dominant narrative are being shut down.

The LA Times even went so far as to ban a significant number of their journalists from even reporting on this issue because they signed a letter calling for a ceasefire. That’s just one example.

So it’s really important that you make sure that you’re not getting all of your news or information about this incredibly complex and significant situation from only the mainstream traditional media sources. You have to read other sources.

The Guardian does a pretty good job of this. You can check Al Jazeera for a more Middle Eastern perspective. There are a lot of people covering this on platforms like Substack and some smaller independent media sources.

Of course, you want to make sure that you’re not reading propaganda because that is a real problem. So it’s important to make sure that the sources you’re acquiring information from are credible and respected and uphold the highest journalistic standards.

So to close, there’s one other thing I want to point out, which came to me the night after I listened to Chris Hedges’ speech, which is a video. And you can just listen to it because it’s basically just him talking.

So in my spiritual practice, at first I was concerned about the safety of these people because they’re putting themselves at danger potentially.

And so I sort of asked for protection for these brave souls who are speaking out and doing so diligently. And then what I got was that there are bright lights out there.

These are people who are actually putting themselves at risk to promote the truth and to promote perspectives that differ from the dominant mainstream narrative. And that these people are extremely brave and extremely important, but that there’s not a lot of them.

There’s a lot of people who are simply too fearful to talk about this. They would like to, but you know, people have to survive. They have to pay their mortgages, care for their families and so forth. So there’s a lot of people who simply can’t afford to take risks like that. And that must be heartbreaking. But there’s a few people who are willing to do it.

And in my spiritual practice, what came to me was that these people are the really bright lights. They are the truth tellers. Getting strong chills saying this.

So we need to support them and we need to look to them because they are the true change agents. There’s not a lot of them.

And it doesn’t matter where it is. Maybe it’s somebody in Russia. Maybe it’s somebody in the United States or in Britain or the Middle East or China or South America or wherever who is speaking truth to power. These are the bright lights of this new age we’re entering into.

There’s a lot of people who simply are really poorly informed or misled and we try not to be one of those.

And there’s a lot of people who are afraid. There’s a lot of people who just don’t care. There’s a lot of people who just want to make money and profit from whatever they’re doing. And they’re not willing to put their ethics ahead of anything else.

But there are a small group of people who are willing to stand up for the truth. And we need to support them and recognize them.

But generally these bright lights are people who are very well informed, very well intentioned, extremely conscientious, and very, very brave. They are the beacons of light.

I look forward as usual to all of your feedback and I thank all of the people who’ve been supportive of me. People have been wondering where have I been? What have I been doing?

I have been actually following what I have published here on my channel in recent months, which is that I just knew and saw, if you look back at what I published, that we were going to be going through a really challenging phase.

I believe the energy should really start shifting January 20th.

Jupiter is also retrograde now too, until the end of the year. That’s a bit of a bummer, especially if you’re a Sag. Or Jupiter is your chart ruler or something like that, or otherwise important to you. So hang in there.

And you know what we need to take away from this is that we need to zero in on the truth and the light and put pressure on people to hold themselves to a higher standard of ethics and morality.

We definitely don’t want something like 45 to win the next election because that would be utterly catastrophic for democracy, but those people that we are aligned with have to hold themselves to a higher standard.

And like I said, I have found that there’s a lot of people who I used to look at in one way, and now I look at them differently. And I recognize that they’re not as aligned with my values as I thought they were.

And so I’m a bit more jaded. I’m a bit more realistic, and I’m a bit more critical than I used to be. And that’s probably a good thing.

This whole period, frankly, has felt like a gut punch to me.

If you happen to agree with the prevailing opinion about this topic, please listen to my prior episode before challenging me.

I am in no way condoning any kind of atrocity against anyone. On the contrary. And I have made that point very clearly previously, as I’ve said.

All of the innocent victims of this terrible tragedy deserve our compassion. It doesn’t matter what side they’re on. All efforts should be made to minimize any further unnecessary harm.

If I am critical of the policies of the United States, and many of us are, including most of my listeners, it doesn’t mean we are prejudiced against all Americans.

Being critical of the state of Israel and its policies does not mean that one is anti-Semitic. We should criticize any country around the world for its failures. It is a fundamental component of a democratic society to be able to openly criticize your government, or any government for that matter.

And this applies to organizations and institutions like religious groups as well.

Again, for more detail, check the episode description for other episodes or articles that are related or that I mentioned.

And if you’re interested in a reading with me, I’ll put a link to that as well. I have a 20% off special on currently. A natal or transit reading makes a great gift, by the way. It’s something people won’t forget.

Many sincere thanks to everyone who supports me, especially my YouTube members. Thank you very much.

Take care, all the best, and I’ll talk to you again soon.

Bye for now.

I discuss the current retrograde dates (many retrogrades are ending soon), the solar and lunar eclipse dates in October 2023 and the Mercury retrograde over the holiday season this year.

I then discuss the societal level lessons for humanity that Pluto – which is finishing its transit of Capricorn (for the most part) – has been teaching us.

Astrological dates mentioned herein are calculated using the Eastern Daylight time zone.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all.

Welcome to Aquarian Diary. I’m your host, John Irving. It is October 1, 2023.

The first 10 minutes or so of this episode are dedicated to near-term astrology, for the most part. After that I get more into the meaning or purpose of the transit of Pluto through Capricorn, which we are at the final stages of as I record this.

If you’re listening to this at a much later date, you may want to skip ahead to about the 10 minute 30 second mark.

I haven’t posted anything since September 6th. This last period of time has been very weird. And for a long time I thought it was just me. But then I did a few transit readings, or updates for people, recently. And in speaking to them, they shared that their experiences have been very similar lately. I’ve been kind of laying low waiting for things to shift.

We’ve had an awful lot of planets retrograde, including Saturn, transiting Pisces, and of course Pluto, which has been retrograde since May 1st, and is now back in Capricorn until January 20th of next year.

As I have commented on before, this period with Pluto around 29 degrees of Capricorn is a very karmic cycle. I did a whole episode on that which I would encourage you to check out.

If we look at what’s been happening in the world lately, for me it shows up so clearly.

Saturn retrograding in Pisces is also a karmic signature. A lot of people are dealing with the consequences of actions that have been occurring in recent history.

There’s a daily barrage of news and developments that are often really striking, and that I think will be a major theme, especially right up through January 20th.

So that explains why some of us really don’t want to stick our heads above the trenches. The sense is that we just have to get through this period as best we can, and in many ways, the skies will start to clear come January.

If you’re interested in specific details, I’ll be putting some dates on the screen.

We have a solar new moon eclipse at 21 degrees of Libra on October 14th and a lunar full moon eclipse at 5 degrees of Taurus on October 28th.

Eclipse energies show up, say, 3 months prior to the event and play out up to 6 months after.

If you have significant planets or points at 21 degrees of Libra or 5 degrees of Taurus, give or take a few degrees or in strong aspect to those degrees, these may be especially important for you.

Now many of those major retrogrades are going to be ending over the next few months.

Pluto goes direct on October 10th in Capricorn. It will enter Aquarius on January 20th.

Saturn turns direct on November 4th.

Neptune goes direct on December 6th.

Jupiter goes direct on December 30th.

Uranus won’t go direct until January 27th of next year.

Mercury will go retrograde again on December 13th and turns direct on January 1st. That’s a bit unfortunate because Mercury will be retrograde throughout the holiday season in many parts of the world.

Not only that, but Mercury will square Neptune in Pisces and conjunct Mars in Sagittarius on December 27th while retrograde, if not almost station retrograde, in other words, it’s going to sit there.

Avoid getting into heated arguments or debates, especially with religiously oriented people. One strategy could just be avoidance, but you’ll probably take heat for that anyway.

Make sure you have receipts. Things could get very confused and heated at the same time.

It’s quite something, especially because of the time of year, with traveling and family and all that stuff.

I don’t really mean to get into exhaustive detail here, but that’s one thing that really jumped out at me. It looks messy.

It’s funny, Apple just released its new iPhone, the iPhone 15, during Mercury retrograde. And they’re having quite a few technical problems with the phone. When it was announced, I thought, “Oh, this isn’t good.” Bad timing.

So if you want to avoid issues with holiday gift giving, for example, you might want to do your shopping before, say, November 25th. A bit of a stretch for a lot of people I know, but especially when it comes to tech items and gifts and travel, Mercury retrograde can introduce some issues. This retrograde will be occurring in the early degrees of Capricorn and late degrees of Sagittarius.

Something else that’s come up lately has been in doing transit readings for people which is really helpful because I can help people become aware of how upcoming transits that they may not be aware of may affect them.

A lot of people are trying to make decisions and planning things now and it’s very helpful to know what kind of influences are going to be at play in the coming year or even further out.

And so when you do a transit reading for somebody it’s quite a bit different than a natal reading. The natal reading focuses more on your basic persona and wiring, you know, who you are, what you came here to do, what your basic strengths and weaknesses are. And a transit reading focuses more on what influences are at play in your world or life now or in the near future.

And it can be extremely helpful to have those insights. There have been occasions where people are considering making major changes or initiating new projects and things like that. And I can help offer a lot of insights into the timing of that. So that can be very valuable.

I’ve also been working with people who do spiritual practice and we’ve been combining their astrology with their spiritual practice because I have over many, many years of practice developed a lot of techniques that can help us clear certain types of blockages or focus in on how we can release things like karma and karmic relationships, karmic contracts, and overcome obstacles that are demonstrated in the natal chart.

I can basically tailor techniques that will work in collaboration with the astrology to help people really move forward, and there have been some examples that are highly effective, and that’s something I find very rewarding.

I often get guidance too for how to help people, what things to focus on. There was a really strong example of that just this week, actually. That requires some discipline and effort for people to take advantage of, but it can be extremely powerful. To bring to people’s awareness where some of their blockages or where shadow work needs to be done.

And that’s something I would like to focus on more, because it’s simply so beneficial and transformative.

The astrology is fantastic for giving us kind of a roadmap, and I’m getting really strong chills saying this, but the spiritual work itself is like the actual trip. The astrology gives us clues about where to go and then we need to do the work to get there. It’s absolutely fantastic. I can’t promote that highly enough.

And these techniques actually work. There’s someone I was working with this week who had almost instant results, the first stages of them at least, from just doing a practice once. It’s phenomenal.

And right now we’re in this very intense, karmic clearing cycle, so doing the shadow work is extremely potent and powerful right now. It has to happen so that we can move forward when the energies start shifting.

We’re sort of like in a new moon phase. Yes, the new moon is a great time to be setting intentions. But what you’re actually doing is planting seeds. It takes the seeds a while to germinate and to grow and develop into tangible results. It’s a process. We plant in the spring, but we don’t see the harvest until the summer usually.

So my sense is that we are going to be moving into a much more potent energy around going forward, really beginning early next year.

Again, see my videos on Pluto and Aquarius, because a lot of the stuff I have said in that episode, which I published over a year and a half ago, are being validated in reality.

And that leads me to the main point I really wanted to make today.

And that is this, that all of this craziness, all of the insanity, the breakdown of all of the social structures, political structures, economic systems, our relationship with nature, all of those things are really indicative of the systemic and endemic failures in our paradigm.

I have made this point countless times in past episodes, but it’s really evident right now, that even if we consider the really radical movements in the world that are frightening a lot of us, and justifiably so, and even if we consider the breakdown of the environment, which I have also talked a lot about here before, which is very scary actually right now, these are all telling us that our paradigm is flawed and that it needs systemic changes.

By systemic, I mean, from the ground up. We’re not talking about changes that are just like band-aid solutions. We need really deep and profound changes from the top to the bottom.

So all of the rage and resentment that we witness particularly on the political right, a lot of the irrational and destructive and nihilistic kind of behavior is symptomatic of how these people have been let down by our political and social and economic systems.

I’m not justifying their anger or rage, but I have stated this here before, that our economic system is severely flawed, and we’re not going to correct that until we fix the social and economic injustice that is inherent in our social and political systems. Period.

And when we look at it from that perspective, even people on the left are guilty for the current circumstances.

Those of us who are in positions of comfort, wealth, better education, better living situations, better childhood experiences, those of us who are more aware politically and socially, we have a duty to protect the most vulnerable people in our society, strong chills here. I have said that before as well.

But those of us who are privileged, and that even includes on the global stage, those of us who are privileged, there is more of an onus on us to be responsible for not only ourselves, but for our brothers and sisters and for the planet and its biosphere.

And so because there’s more of an onus on us, we have to step up and defend the rights of all people, regardless of their education level, their social status, their economic status, or whatever.

And until we do that, we are going to continue to see the breakdown of social and political structures.

Yes, there are some people who try and capitalize on these kinds of social inequalities or economic inequalities, or who try and amplify division for their own gain. They are a crass opportunists. That’s to be expected, but we need fundamental changes.

Using the United States, for example, the manufacturing and industrial heartland was basically hollowed out by corporate interests wanted to offshore manufacturing to foreign jurisdictions where labor was dramatically less expensive and workers didn’t have protection or rights. And that was just opportunism.

But the consequences were you ended up with millions of people who were disenfranchised and who felt like they had been let down abandoned or thrown to the wolves by the political, elite, and in many ways they were.

So it’s not surprising that these people are upset. And this applies in countries around the world. This doesn’t just apply to the United States.

As I have said before, when I was a child, my father worked nine to five Monday to Friday, didn’t work evenings, didn’t work weekends, there were four children and a stay-at-home mother and we lived very well on one income. That isn’t even remotely conceivable anymore, unless you’re rich.

People need to feel that their children’s lives have a chance of being better than theirs, and that is not true for millions and millions of people. Young people today can’t even afford to start families. They’re putting it off. Not only that, they are very concerned about the future environmentally and what prospects the future holds for their potential children.

This is a complete failure on the part of older generations. We have let these people down, and we need to own that and take responsibility for it and do something really traumatic about it. This is the most important thing really socially.

We have been sitting here in awe watching all the craziness and all the insanity since the former guy got elected and going like how can people be so irrational. Well, it’s because they’re angry. They’ve been let down. They’ve been abandoned. That is why. It is really, really simple.

The vast wealth disparity, the plutocrats, the oligarchs, the billionaires, our economic system is fundamentally broken. And the consequence is going to be authoritarianism, if not fascism, if we don’t address this.

And that includes the cost of living, the cost of housing, people are getting increasingly stressed, an unprecedented amount of people are living on the streets, and relying on food banks, this is a travesty.

It’s not just the people in those circumstances now, it’s the people who are afraid that they They may be one paycheck away from being in those circumstances. Millions and millions of people. And if we want to avoid the worst case outcomes, we have to address that period.

I came across something back in early September. Actually, it was September 9th.

Typically I start my day by checking the news media for all the major stories, and there’s a whole slew of publications I read or scan every day. And this day, for some reason, I checked USA Today. It’s not a publication I check all that often. However, just by chance, I check USA Today.

And here’s an article which I’ll link in the description and show on the screen. This completely blew my mind. It’s one of the most shocking things I’ve read in a very long time. And I was also really surprised that I didn’t already know this.

It is this that 130 million Americans read below a sixth grade level. That represents more than half the US adult population, according to the Department of Education. I believe I had to read this three times to make sure I was reading it accurately because it was so shocking.

In fact, and I’m not making this up, I was basically ready to publish this episode and I thought I better check to make sure that that USA Today article is actually accurate. I did, and I found that the statistics were fact-checked by Snopes affirmatively. They verify the statistics.

Now I’m a Canadian and I couldn’t find a direct comparison, but I did find a statistic that 93% of Canadians have completed high school. So obviously, they have a much higher literacy rate than this percentage of Americans who only have a grade 6 reading level.

So I read this and I’m like, “Well, it’s no wonder so many Americans fall for disinformation, conspiracy theories are completely out of touch with reality in a lot of ways because As they lack the knowledge, the critical thinking skills, or ability to do research, etc. That explains something I’ve been trying to understand for years.

How can a country as powerful and rich as the United States have half its population with this level of education? It’s almost incomprehensible.

Half the population is functionally illiterate. It doesn’t mean they’re stupid. It just means they’re uneducated.

You can’t have a functioning democracy with millions of people who are basically illiterate.

The first thing that America should be doing is educating its populace. Not only would that help preserve, for example, democracy, it would benefit the country economically in ways that would be incalculable.

It is just baffling how this situation can even exist. But this illustrates my point about how we have not taken care of and let down people who are the basis of our society, of our economies. It affects our healthcare system. It affects everything.

This is a systemic failure of epic proportions. It’s completely baffling to me. But that makes my point.

Countless hours have gone into trying to understand why America has been experiencing what it’s been experiencing since and before the former guy was elected. And the answer is right there. It’s that simple.

My main point was simply that what we have been experiencing, all the tumult, all the craziness that trends towards extremism and autocracy and fascism can all be explained by how we have failed our people.

And it’s true with the environment as well. It’s the same situation, basically.

So we need to get real. And that means making changes and changing our priorities.

We are to be our brothers keeper. Those of us who are privileged, whether it’s intellectually, financially, economically, by virtue of where you grew up, your power, your influence, your authority, whatever it is.

We need to get real and stop being narcissistic. And I’m not saying that the people who are listening to this are like that. You probably aren’t. That’s probably why you’re listening to me because you’re not like that.

But this is the message we need to get to our leaders, those in positions of power and authority that we need to make radical reforms that benefit everyone in our society and everyone on the planet.

And we need to start with the most vulnerable people. That would be the people on the streets, the people who are homeless, the people with mental health issues, the people that need health care.

We triage. We start with the most vulnerable, the most at risk, and we work our way up.

That is my major insight from this period of time that has been so crazy. The world will continue to get more and more crazy until we fix this.

This fits in perfectly with the themes of Pluto transiting Capricorn, which I have talked about a lot. Pluto is showing us how the structures of our societies, our institutions, banking, finance, political systems are failing people. It’s so clear.

But to distill it down to its essence, it is what I have just been talking about. It’s about how we abuse the most vulnerable members of our society and the price now that we’re paying for that gross negligence. The relationship is very, very clear.

Our security, our stability, democracy itself is in peril because these systems are fundamentally flawed and corrupt and they need to be transformed… Pluto.

See my episode on Pluto transiting Aquarius or Pluto at 29 degrees of Capricorn.

Also, I will add that I personally feel that if people aren’t complaining about this, they are tacitly endorsing it.

This clarity that I have, these insights, are a result of all of the recent retrogrades we’ve been experiencing. So we see the benefit of this perspective from something that many people fear. Retrogrades in their natal chart, retrogrades by transit.

This is how we gain wisdom and insights. And I’m grateful for that.

I have a tremendous amount of clarity on things that had puzzled me for a very long time and I hope that’s That’s true in your case as well.

So that’s what I wanted to share.

I still have a 20% discount on readings going on for a while longer, I’m extending that a little bit. I had some technical problems with my website which wasn’t working for a few days so people couldn’t get through to me.

I’ll put links in the episode description to any related content and if you’re interested in a reading with me I’ll put a link to that as well.

Any sincere thanks to everyone who supports me, especially my YouTube members. Thank you very much.

Take care all the best and I’ll talk to you again soon.

Bye for now.
