Episode transcript:

Greetings all, welcome to Aquarian Diary.

I’m your host, John Irving.

It is February 17th, 2024.

Wow. Just wow. This recent period has just been astonishing.

I thought I would talk a little bit about that because I have made a number of posts on my community tab and been discussing some of the themes that have been coming up for me, and it turns out that they resonate with others as well.

We went through a little period recently that was kind of a mixture of complete exhaustion and then coupled with dramatic bursts of energy, like the energy would fluctuate and vacillate pretty dramatically.

That’s kind of a hallmark of Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius, where Pluto recently ingressed on January 20th. So we may need to be prepared overall for pretty dramatic and wild swings of energy insights, themes, and so forth.

I spent some time personally reflecting on this, like why am I completely exhausted one day and then hypercharged the next? And this is what I think is going on.

For me, this period from 2008 until just recently, when Pluto was in Capricorn, was energetically really heavy and it felt oppressive and stifling and confining and restricting and limiting. It even included a degree of fear.

And if we look at what was happening in the world, that’s understandable. We had these oppressive reactionary forces within the power structures of our societies who were threatening to repress us or force their worldview onto us, contain us, control us, dominate us.

And so it’s kind of like we were walking around hunched over, you know, thinking we’re going to get whacked, either on the material or energetic levels. So it’s kind of like there was a barrage of energy shooting down upon us and we had to put up our shields to protect ourselves and keep kind of like a stiff upper lip, be very sort of stalwart and stoic as we’ve been going through this period.

And then after a while, we got used to that. So we’ve been in this very kind of defensive posture for like 16 years.

And let’s face it, many of us have been brutally persecuted in past lifetimes for sticking our necks out. So we have good reason intuitively to be cautious or reserved about expressing our true identities and beliefs.

This frequently shows up in the natal charts of people I do readings for. And I’ve heard stories of people’s past lives that are truly shocking and deeply disturbing.

At the same time, recently, just recently, and a bit last year, when Pluto was in Aquarius for a few months, there was a heightening of the energy. So I also sense right now that there is this heightened energy. It’s resonating on a higher frequency.

But at the same time, we still have that kind of lingering residue of heavy energy that we have been fighting with, which has been exhausting for so many years.

So although the energy has shifted, we haven’t quite acclimated to it yet. And there’s still that lingering kind of fear and hesitation and reservation because we were in the Pluto and Capricorn energy for so long.

Five days ago, I published an episode about this really remarkable conjunction of Mars, Venus, and Pluto at the first degree of Aquarius. And of course, out of curiosity, I wanted to see how events might take place in the world that would reflect those energies.

So I’ve been checking the news, and of course, there’s been a lot of dramatic developments this week, like some really stunning developments that very much fit within those themes, some of which I posted on my community tab here.

The problem, in fact, wasn’t that I couldn’t find them, correlations I mean, the problem was that there was just too many of them. And I can’t just flood my community tab with all this stuff, it would just overwhelm people. So I kind of got like, “Whoa, it’s just overwhelming.”

But, there’s a really interesting theme playing out here, which is that a lot of the kind of karmic reckoning that I had predicted going back a year ago or more is starting to occur. And that gives me hope for this new phase that we’re entering, that justice for all the crimes and abuses of power that occurred with Pluto and Capricorn are now starting to play out.

So this gives us hope that this insanely crazy period that we just went through over the past 16 years is over. It’s coming to an end.

And there’s going to be a comeuppance, and to some degree, things are going to be more normal and hopefully, people will be a lot less inclined to go off the deep end with the batshit crazy stuff once they see other people being held accountable for these kinds of things.

And I expect that over the next few years, we’re going to see a lot of people facing things like prosecution for their actions and misdeeds, much of it of a criminal nature, if it wasn’t organized crime.

There was a weird thing going on while Pluto was in Capricorn where people just thought that they could get away with some of the most outrageous things. And they just kept upping the ante and raising the bar because they were getting away with it.

But that, like I said, seems to be coming to an end, thank God.

So there’s going to be a lot of drama around that, but for a change, it’s going to be good drama because those of us who are based in reality and uphold higher moral and ethical standards are going to be buoyed by that. We’re going to find this very uplifting because at least we now know that there is some justice, that there are limits and constraints that will keep us from going off the deep end completely.

It’s interesting because I often do prayers or set intentions for exactly these kinds of things, and I published a whole bunch of them here as shorts on my YouTube channel. This stuff is real, it’s really happening. Finally, right, because the energy is now conducive to that.

So the initial phase of this is going to be just putting things back into order and back into place.

Then the next phase will be how do we move forward beyond and into new realms of exploring how this energy flows and manifests out into society and the world. That’s when we get into the real phase of progress.

First we have to restore order from the chaos, then we can start being more proactive, and that’s where we come into play.

People like you, if you’re listening to me, you’re probably ahead of your time. You’re a change agent. You came here to help move humanity forward into this new age, and we’ve been being battered and hammered for quite some time now.

And so, like I said, we’ve developed this defensive posture, but soon we will be in creation mode instead of defense mode.

There’s going to be a lot of people who are going to need guidance and direction and instruction on how to work with and handle these kinds of energies, because this is a paradigm shift, which is another thing I’ve talked a lot about here, and paradigm shifts can be very disorienting initially.

It’s a whole new reality. This is a shift of Ages. It’s something that humanity hasn’t experienced for over 2,000 years. It’s huge. It’s virtually unprecedented, especially now that we have all this technology that we can utilize to communicate at the speed of light, which is, again, Pluto in Aquarius ruled by Uranus.

So I find this all tremendously exciting, although lately it has been exhausting.

I would encourage people in their spiritual practice to be clearing energies, and thought forms and beliefs, that were relevant between 2008 and 2024, but that no longer fit into this paradigm we’re moving into.

It’s probably going to take us a bit of time to trust that, but overall we need to do some housecleaning internally so that we can embrace and embody this new energy that is actually here right now. We’re in the hangover stage of this shift of phases of energies. So that’s the good news.

I think that seeing people held accountable for all their misdeeds, what we’ve seen recently is just the beginning.

Watch what happens over the next while. We have another period of Pluto dipping back into 29 degrees of Capricorn for 10 weeks in the fall of this year. That’s the last shot of that energy where people who are not tuned in are likely to make some really big mistakes that they will regret later. If they think for a minute that that is the status quo, they are wrong. So I think that’s the final test of this period of shifting energies.

I want to point out one other thing too, which is something that’s just come to my attention recently.

For some reason I was drawn to go and listen to some of the episodes that I published here a long time ago. I have stuff on here that goes back over two years now. And I don’t normally do that. I don’t go listen to old episodes, especially of my own.

But I was pretty blown away by how spot on I was, how accurately prescient or prophetic I was. Go back and listen to some of my older episodes.

What I publish here has a lasting kind of quality. It’s not all just about in the moment.

And I was quite impressed with how accurately predictive a lot of those themes I’ve talked about are.

In fact, I was listening to someone else a few days ago and they were talking about all this stuff and I was thinking, I did an episode on that like a year and a half ago. And I was kind of like “What is with that?”. You know, I feel like I’m really ahead of my time.

So if you’re bored, and I know everyone is super busy and overwhelmed these days, but a lot of the content I have published here, even going back a long time, is very much accurate about what’s happening here now and what themes are going to be in play.

And that was always my intention, was to build a body of work that was foundational and that would be relevant for a long time.

I know that the trend right now is for people to be very much into immediate gratification and hyper-stimulation, constantly going from one thing to the next. In other words, being ungrounded.

But there’s overriding patterns and themes that are at play here that are really important in terms of understanding what’s going on, on a bigger level.

So in short, we’re in this shift of energies. We have to kind of let go of that past energy. We don’t need to be fearful or anxious in the same way that we used to. So we need to clear out that kind of energy, which will allow us to make this shift more easily.

The tide has turned. A lot of people are going to be held accountable for how they abused their power while Pluto was in Capricorn. Fantastic.

And in the not too distant future – probably more actually in the time frame of when Pluto really settles into Aquarius for the next 20 years, which is in the fall – and I’ll put the dates on the screen, that’s when the real moving forward energy really kicks in and we can completely leave behind all of the fears, apprehensions, dotes, and the defensive posture we had to assume while Pluto was in Capricorn.

Also, a lot of what I’ve been saying here has been coming up very powerfully in the readings I’ve been doing for people lately. It’s showing up in their charts and in their transits.

Like literally I did a reading for someone the other day and I saw these signatures in their transits about how they were coming into this period of time where they would kind of be awakened and come into their mission, their sole mission for this lifetime. There’s trigger points that indicate that they are stepping into action.

Like there’s a lot of us who have been kind of like sleeper agents and over the next year or two, a lot of those people who have been laying low, living their day-to-day lives, are going to start being activated so that they can play a role in bringing in this New Age, the energies of this New Age.

And I’m getting really strong energy as I say this. I couldn’t be more thrilled about predicting that, honestly.

The kind of people who listen to me are like that in a lot of ways. I’ve seen that come up a lot in readings lately, like I said, that there’s a lot of people who are going to be kicked into action.

A lot of people had to be in that kind of dormant state because it was too dangerous for them to come forward and express their full potential and full being. The energies wouldn’t allow it. It was too heavy.

Very interesting, the timing of all of this and how it coincides with Pluto in Aquarius, which I talked about over two years ago here.

So I find this very exciting. I’m not saying we’re completely out of the woods. We’re not, but the energy is shifting very fast.

And that’s another characteristic of Pluto in Aquarius. The energies in Aquarius, because it’s ruled by Uranus, can move phenomenally fast and suddenly.

I also want to make a point that I think that one of the themes here as well in terms of accountability is going to be corporate malfeasance with respect to things like price gouging.

Powerful corporations, especially like monopolies, and there are way too many of those these days, they fit within the Pluto, Transit, and Capricorn umbrella.

And I think that we’re going to find that there’s going to be a lot of comeuppances in the corporate sector as well.

And let’s face it, many of them have been also lobbying and supporting a lot of the policies that we would consider to be anti-liberal or anti-democratic. And there’s going to have to be some accountability there.

Way too much power has been consolidated into the hands of a few.

And often it is these monied corporate interests who are actually driving the agenda, if not literally crafting policies, and financing and lobbying the politicians, who are effectively in many cases puppets or mouthpieces for these vested interests.

So the corporate sector is going to be in for a bit of a rude awakening as these energies shift because clearly they have abused their power and their influence for reasons relating to unfettered greed and narcissism without taking the welfare of society at large into account. And they’re going to have to be put in their place, and there may be some hard lessons learned there.

People keep talking about how the economy is great, but corporate profits have been stratospheric recently, and that accounts for a lot of the economic activity. Meanwhile, a lot of people have been struggling to survive.

Robert Reich published a chart the other day, which I shared on my YouTube channel, which showcases this in very dramatic terms. I’ll put that on the screen as well.

And if we’ve learned anything during this period, it is that we must be constantly engaged and vigilant about issues like social or economic justice or protecting liberal democracies. We can never take our rights or freedoms for granted.

One other point.

There’s some weird things which I’ve talked about before with YouTube comments. Comments sometimes go into like a Bermuda Triangle.

And it bothers me because a lot of people on my channel write these amazing comments, very thoughtful comments.

And I really respect that, you know, that people take the time to do that and that they do so eloquently.

So when comments just aren’t visible or don’t show up or nobody can see them or whatever, it bothers me because I feel bad because people, like I said, take all this time to do this and then nobody sees it.

So if that happens to you, just understand that it’s not me. I don’t have control over this.

I think some comments get flagged for some weird reason, even though I have very rarely seen comments that were truly offensive.

So don’t take it personally is what I’m trying to say. And I apologize for that, but it’s completely beyond my control.

There’s a lot of really weird quirks with the YouTube commenting system. Some people know this, but some people may not.

I just want you to know that I really respect and appreciate your effort. So please accept my apologies if that’s happened to you.

Again, for more detail, check the episode description for other episodes or articles that are related or that I mentioned.

And if you’re interested in a reading with me, I’ll put a link to that as well. I have a 20% off special on currently.

Many sincere thanks to everyone who supports me, especially my YouTube members.

Thank you very much.

Take care, all the best, and I’ll talk to you again soon.

Mars, Pluto and Venus conjunct in Aquarius – Trauma of the Divine Feminine

I discuss the potent and remarkable astrology of the conjunction of Mars, Pluto and Venus at the very first degree of Aquarius in mid-February of 2024.

This has significant implications for society and with respect to the Divine Feminine.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all, welcome to Aquarian Diary.

I’m your host, John Irving.

It is February 12th, 2024.

Dates mentioned in this episode are calculated for the Eastern North America time zone. As usual, see the description for links to related episodes.

As I mentioned in my recent Pre-Equinox Astrology episode, which I published very early on February 11th, Mars enters Aquarius at 1:05 AM tomorrow morning, February 13th.

Mars will conjunct Pluto exactly at 1:06 AM on February 14th [at 0° 46′ 07″ Aquarius]. They will be within a very tight 2 degree orb through February 16th, and within a 5 degree orb through February 20th.

This is one of the most volatile and potent combinations of energies, especially if it occurs in close proximity or aspect to a significant point in your natal chart. With this aspect, it is not uncommon for pent up anger, resentment, or even rage or violence to burst forward in surprising and dramatic ways.

It could originate from within yourself, or it could be externally expressed by others.

This can be related to people, organizations, or institutions that attempt to forcibly dominate or control us, or even harm us. Needless to say, conflict can result.

Bear this in mind in your dealings with others and avoid risky or dangerous situations, people, or places during this time if possible. Also beware of expressing yourself or acting in rash ways that you may regret later when this energy subsides.

A good way to express this energy is through physical activity, being careful to avoid injury or accidents resulting from overconfidence or rashness, especially with sharp implements or tools.

Another way to benefit from this transit is to pay close attention to the nature and condition of any anger, resentment, or sense of injustice or victimization that arise or that this triggers within your psyche. Much of this may have been formerly unexpressed or not totally conscious. Make notes of this as it can point to shadow work or therapy that you can focus on later when the energies settle down. This can be extremely helpful in releasing yourself from past traumas.

Venus will enter Aries [Correction: Venus will enter Aquarius, of course, not Aries!] at 11:06 AM on February 16th and will conjunct Pluto exactly at 3:48 AM on February 17th [at 0° 51′ 41″ Aquarius], thus forming a very potent stellium with Mars and Pluto.

It would not be surprising if what is triggered relates to sexual trauma from this life or past lives.

Again, this is occurring at the very first degree of Aquarius, which Pluto just re-entered on January 20th of this year.

Aquarius deals with society at large – that’s broader society – social justice, causes and groups and organizations related to those kinds of activities, our dreams and hopes for the future, and technology, including the Internet.

Regrettably, with the involvement of Venus, this combination likely deals with violent abuses of the feminine, whether in the past or in the present.

Pluto can represent abuses of power, control, domination, oppression, victimization and subjugation. In Aquarius, it may represent systemic abuses or human rights abuses resulting from state or military action or warfare.

It would not surprise this astrologer if these themes arise or come to light during this period and they may be shocking.

It behooves humanity to confront and reconcile traumas and injustices, whether recent or from the distant past. They fester within our collective unconscious or psyche and our past, from generation to generation, whether we are aware of this or acknowledge this or not. To stop unconsciously perpetuating this and other vicious cycles, we must confront them honestly, sincerely and responsibly. We must do this for ourselves, for society and for future generations.

On February 19th, at 4.30am, the North Node conjuncts Chiron at 16 degrees and 45 minutes of Aries. Aries is ruled by Mars, of course. Again, the theme of trauma related to the masculine.

Chironic energies are never easy to confront, but this aspect speaks to bringing deep wounding to our conscious awareness and self-expression. It implies that the timing of this is fated.

The South Node, which speaks to the past, is transiting Libra. Libra seeks peace and harmony and is ruled by loving and compassionate Venus.

Given that this is occurring very near the recent ingress of Pluto in Aquarius, I predict that this will be a theme for years to come. The reconciliation of, and social justice pertaining to, abuses and subjugation of the Divine Feminine.

Venus can also represent the natural world and the nature spirit realms, which I have also talked about here before, and which have been subject to rapacious and unbridled opportunistic destruction by humans for millennia. Such acts are clearly a manifestation of the lower aspects of the divine masculine. Thus, the themes I have discussed extend to our precious and vulnerable natural world as well.

Uranus, the ruler of Aquarius, is currently transiting Taurus, as is Jupiter. Venus rules Taurus as well as Libra, again drawing our awareness to the natural realms and the land.

Again we must heal and transform our relationship with feminine principles, including the natural world, which provides us with incredible bounty and sustenance.

Those who seek to oppress or harm the divine feminine expression are acting against their own interests. Ultimately, it is unnatural, self-defeating, and nihilistic.

Events that transpire during this time may be quite disturbing and unwelcome. However, in the long run, they may initiate a cycle of much-needed awareness, heart-based healing and transformation. Healing that will help us transform and regenerate our collective psyche in critically important ways.

As we can see, a tremendous amount of powerful and important information can be deduced from astrological transits, on both the personal and collective level.

In the age of Aquarius, we will begin to learn and master collective consciousness. Consciousness that profoundly affects us in ways we barely understand. It is our destiny.

Mastery begins with conscious awareness. Denial of truth is not an option.

If during this time, the Divine Feminine is attacked by lower expressions of masculine energy, know that this is not the way. It is merely an expression of their own unresolved wounding, vulnerability, and weakness.

There are a lot of major, major changes occurring right now astrologically and over the next couple years.

We’re going to have Neptune changing signs. We’re going to have Uranus changing signs. We’re going to have Saturn changing signs. Pluto changing signs recently alone is huge.

And so, this is a really good time to get a lay of the land before these things happen, with your own personal astrology. I know from a lot of people I’m talking to that there are major changes taking place.

Often as expected, people tend to request readings when major things are happening that they don’t understand. But I would highly encourage you to be proactive and get a reading beforehand so that you have some mental preparation for what might be coming up. It can be extremely helpful. You don’t want to leave it to the last minute. And I do have a special going on right now for readings.

Again, for more detail, check the episode description for other episodes or articles that are related or that I mentioned.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all, welcome to Aquarian Diary.

I’m your host, John Irving.

It is February 11th, 2024.

There are a lot of major, major changes occurring right now astrologically and over the next couple years. We’re going to have Neptune changing signs. We’re going to have Uranus changing signs. We’re going to have Saturn changing signs. Pluto changing signs alone is huge.

And so this is a really good time to get a lay of the land before these things happen with your own personal astrology.

I know from a lot of people I’m talking to that there are major changes taking place. Often, as expected, people tend to request readings when major things are happening that they don’t understand.

But I would highly encourage you to be proactive and get a reading beforehand so that you have some mental preparation for what might be coming up. It can be extremely helpful. You don’t want to leave it to the last minute. And I do have a special going on right now for readings.

Today I’m going to be talking about some near-term astrology.

I’m going to look at most of the major shifts that occur between now and the Equinox. That’s March 19th or 20th, depending on where you live.

For my calculations I’m using the Eastern Time Zone, and I’m in the Northern Hemisphere.

I have Pisces in the 12th, and so Saturn is transiting my 12th house now. And the 12th house, which I’ve talked a lot about here before, can involve very challenging energies, because in the case of Saturn, for me, it is finishing up a cycle of 28-29 years.

The end of cycles always brings endings, because we are about to begin a new cycle.

So while Saturn has been transiting my 12th, it has been making these challenging aspects to numerous points in my natal chart.

But then recently I was talking to a few people and other people were expressing that they found this period recently very hard. And then I thought, well maybe it’s not just entirely me.

Plus we recently had the shift of Pluto into Aquarius on January 20th, which brings us out of that Pluto in Capricorn energy, which is very hard, because Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and Saturn is not easy or fun or light.

You would naturally expect that the energies would be lighter. And in some ways they have been.

I myself have noticed that kind of on the intuitive and psychic and spiritual levels, the energy is faster and higher. But on the material plane it feels kind of dense.

And I think what’s happening here is that we went through this period of Pluto in Capricorn, which was, and still is in some ways, very traumatic, frightening and disturbing.

And I’ve had the experience before when after going through a very stressful, challenging period, you kind of go through a decompression and you’ve been on edge and in a state of anxiety for a long time. You’re almost like in a state of exhaustion and there’s grief and there’s still lingering fear and trepidation and stuff like that.

Now one of the important things I want to say about this is that with Pluto under the right circumstances can give certain people a lot of power. But there’s also a catch to it. If you abuse that power, it will eventually boomerang upon you. And I did a whole episode on that subtitled “A Karmic Reckoning”.

Most really powerful people in the world have strongly placed Plutos. And if you look at them, a lot of them eventually do have a very dramatic comeuppance or fall from grace.

But that may not happen immediately as soon as say, for example, Pluto shifts into Aquarius.

We have to go through this period of reorientation and then the energies have to kind of settle and we have to get into a new momentum before things really start moving forward.

I anticipate that a lot of people, organizations and groups are going to have a karmic comeuppance over the next year or two and probably starting in 2024.

We have one more period where Pluto will retrograde back into Capricorn from September 1st until November 19th of 2024. So we’re not quite out of the woods yet.

And remember, Capricorn rules those power structures that are part of our reality. So watch over the next year or two or maybe even three. I expect to see that there will be a lot of falls from grace, so to speak.

Now we also have Saturn transiting Pisces for the most part through February of 2026. And this is also a karmic cycle. I did an episode on this and the subtitle of that was “Reality Check”.

This is where we have to get really real about our illusions, delusions, ground our spirituality and clear up any outstanding karma before we begin a new cycle when Saturn moves into Aries.

A lot of this kind of stuff happens on the internal level or on the psychic or intuitive levels.

Contrary to what a lot of people believe, there is a huge amount of what is happening here on Earth that is actually happening in non-material dimensions as well.

And given my recent experiences with my own Saturn transits as it goes through my 12th house, I will have a lot more to say about that soon, but I’ll leave that for another episode.

So let’s look a little bit at some of the near-term events.

I posted on my community tab Friday night about the fact that the Moon will conjunct Saturn February 10th because I wanted people to know a little bit about that. And then I also stated that the Moon would move into Aries on Monday morning, local time, and that that should put a bit of a spring in people’s step. I just wanted to give people a little sense of timing.

But there’s more to this because we’re going to also have the Sun transit Pisces from February 18th. And this is a very internalizing period as well. The Sun is going to be in Pisces where Saturn is transiting now.

And it’s easier to understand this in the Northern Hemisphere, but this is kind of like the deep of winter when we go inwards, we lay low, we regenerate, we recuperate, we process everything that’s happened in the past year. It’s very introspective.

And it’s also more of a dreamy time too. It’s a good time for doing creative things, for doing spiritual work, for doing forms of divination, for renewal and regeneration, for letting go.

Because when the Sun moves into Aries, we get very busy and we need the energy that we can recoup and rejuvenate with during this cycle.

So it’s also a period of endings because it’s the end of an annual cycle.

It’s best not to have a lot of external pressures or stress if it’s possible during this time. Ideally, you’re laying in bed and you’re reading a book. You’re taking it easy. You’re doing self-care. That’s what this period is really about or that’s how it’s best to get through it.

If you’re a creative person, like I said, that energy can be wonderful too because you can channel energies and thoughts and ideas that are very tapped into the zeitgeist.

The 12th house is very much tapped into the global unconscious. But it’s not associated with going out and doing things like weightlifting or something or highly strenuous activities. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t exercise. You probably should, but be easy on yourself.

And let’s look at a few other key points here along the way.

If any of these transits or events are very near or in strong aspect to any of your personal planets or key points, you may want to study them in more detail.

I will be publishing a transcript of this on my website, which I do typically these days. If you want to go through and extract specific dates or information, you can do it there. I will usually put the transcript up within an hour or so of publishing the episode.

First of all, no retrogrades. That’s notable. It’s a bit unusual. This means that things are going to be moving forward very quickly whether we realize it or not. And it may feel like time has sped up a bit.

On February 14th, Mars will conjunct Pluto at the first degree of Aquarius. Mars combined with Pluto are one of the more dangerous aspects in astrology. This is probably a good time to stay home and not do anything risky or dangerous or put yourself in dangerous situations, or places for that matter.

We may also see some events take place in the world that involve a lot of violence or warfare or something like that because those two energies together are very intense. The power of Pluto and the aggressiveness and warlike energy of Mars. This is brief. This is just probably from the period of around February 12th to 16th.

Then on February 16th, Venus enters Aquarius. This will help lighten all of this heavy energy a bit and bring a bit of that love energy of Venus, that softer energy of Venus, into social concerns.

I’m moving fairly quickly because of time.

On February 18th, the Sun enters Pisces.

On February 19th, the North Node will conjunct Chiron at 16° 45′ of Aries. I’m not going to get into a huge explanation of Chiron here, but it has to do with wounding and in this masculine energy of Aries and the North Node amplifying those energies. This is kind of reflective of what I have been talking about people experiencing. There’s always grief and trauma and pain associated with Chiron.

On February 22nd, Venus conjuncts Mars at 6° 57′ of Aquarius. This can be kind of great sexual energy if that matters to you. It’s the masculine and the feminine coming together.

On February 23rd, Mercury enters Pisces. That amplifies this Pisces energy I’ve been talking about that is emphasized during this period.

On February 24th, there’s a full Moon at 5 degrees 23 minutes of Virgo.

On the same day, Venus will square Jupiter and Taurus, both at 10 degrees 30 minutes.

On the 27th, Mars will square Jupiter at 10° 52′.

Venus and Mars square Jupiter basically really ramps up their energy. There’s the potential for people to go overboard, for things to be over the top. So just watch that you don’t do things that later on you go like, “Oh, what was I thinking or why did I do that?” because the energy can be very exaggerated and not necessarily in a contained way.

On February 28th, Mercury will conjunct the Sun. That brings the mind and the being very closely together. The identity of the two kind of become one, almost indistinguishable, for better or worse.

On the same day at 9° 46′ of Pisces, the Sun will conjunct Saturn. So this period of around the 27th, 28th of February is probably going to be a little period where things feel a little bit more challenging or we feel limited or like we can’t just do what we want to do. We might have to deal with things like responsibilities or duties or attend to affairs we’d rather not attend to. It’s not a great time for doing expansive things. It’s a better time for focus and concentration. This is generally not a fun energy. So around the 27th, 28th, 29th, just be prepared for a bit of that heavier, more responsible and duty-oriented energy.

So then we’re kind of in the clear a bit until March 8th, where Mercury conjuncts Neptune at 27 degrees of Pisces. This can be a very creative and dreamy kind of energy involving our minds and how we think and communicate. But just be aware that whatever you’re thinking or doing at that time may not be particularly grounded and or even based in reality. So it’s a great time for doing something like writing a science fiction novel or writing poetry. But it’s not a good time for being pragmatic or making significant decisions around things like money or signing contracts, because you’ll probably find out later on that it wasn’t based in reality. Also, communications can be a little muddled or confused at this time as well.

On March 9th, the next day, the Sun will sextile Uranus. This is kind of a good energy if you want to shake things up or introduce ideas or thoughts that take you outside the boundaries of the status quo. That’s happening at 19° 51′ of Pisces and Taurus.

On March 9th, Mercury enters Aries. This is the beginning of a new cycle for Mercury. Mercury kind of comes out of that dreamy, fantastical Piscean energy and into the energy of Aries, which is all about doing things and starting things and being bold and self-assertive. It’s kind of like going from neutral into overdrive very quickly with mind and communication type things.

On March 10th, there’s a New Moon at 20 degrees of Pisces. If this New Moon hits a personal planet very closely, it can be quite significant. New Moons are about the very, very beginning stages of new cycles and new beginnings.

On March 11th, Venus enters Pisces where it is exalted. This means that the energy of Venus really likes to be in Pisces and it is a wonderful time for self-care, enjoyment, a bit of self-indulgence, positive expression, embodying very loving kind of energy. Venus rules love and love can be very easily expressed in this Piscean energy because there’s very few boundaries. That’s one of the downsides is that you have to be careful with your boundaries in the 12th house. But this is overall a lovely energy, especially for the things that I’ve already described Pisces being beneficial for.

On March 17th, the Sun conjuncts Neptune at 27° 21′ of Pisces. Similar to the Mercury conjunct Neptune transit I already talked about a few minutes ago, with Sun-Neptune aspects, we can lose our sense of identity.

These things happen every year. These aren’t necessarily life-changing transits I’m talking about here. But just be aware that one can kind of lose themselves a bit when the Sun conjuncts Neptune, say from March 16th to the 18th. It’d be a great time for doing spiritual work or dissolving egoic attachments or completely revising or revamping one’s sense of identity.

But this isn’t typically a good transit for getting things done. It’s not about work, work, work. It’s just about being. And like I said, maybe tapping into the higher dimensions. It’s not about physical vitality and energy.

If you’re at all intuitive or psychic with the Sun and other planets transiting Pisces, we tend to be more open psychically during this time. Myself, I have a daily energetic hygiene regimen that I practice. And I just want to make this comment that it’s probably a good idea to be doing something like that to protect yourself energetically simply because we are just more vulnerable. We’re more open psychically during this time.

On March 19th, the Sun enters Aries and this is the beginning of a new cycle. So don’t expect things to happen instantly, but you’ll feel the vitality of the Sun as it moves into Aries. And it’s a great time to start things or to start implementing things or taking action. In the world at large, things should start picking up steam.

The gist of all this is that energies and things are really going to start picking up and moving forward in an active way come March 19th. So we shouldn’t be expecting too much of ourselves between now and then.

If you’re creative, if you’re an artist or a musician or a writer, this could be a fantastic time for those kinds of activities. Or if you’re involved in spiritual activities or if you do things like divination, absolutely. Just do your best practices for staying grounded and keeping your energy clear.

One more comment on all of this. There’s an awful lot of calculations I made here. If it turns out that any of them proved to be off or wrong, or I made a typo, I will make a note in the comments section or my Errata page. I wouldn’t be surprised if I screwed up somewhere, but we’ll see.

AI and the Death of the Internet

I discuss how AI (Artificial Intelligence) poses a clear and present danger to the way the Internet has worked for decades. The implications are profound and disturbing.

This may be related to the transit of Pluto in Aquarius (2023-2044). Pluto, death and rebirth, and power. Aquarius – or the 11th house – signifying society, broader social aims and causes, technology and dramatic or radical technological developments.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all, welcome to Aquarian Diary.

I’m your host, John Irving.

It is February 1st, 2024.

I have a bit of a throat cold thing going on, so I apologize for that. There’s a lot of weird things going around right now.

What I want to talk about today is really heartbreaking for me personally.

Just to give a bit of background, back in the late 90’s, I co-founded a technology company that was effectively a social media platform geared towards K-12 education, which is kindergarten through grade 12. So elementary, middle, high school.

This was when Pluto was in Sagittarius, and I’m a Sag, so you can see the connections to education. And in fact, what I’m doing here right now is educational, very 9th house kind of stuff.

And I loved that. It was fantastic. It was very early.

I actually got online before the Internet. I bought my first computer in 1986. This was very early days of personal computing.

And then bulletin boards came along where you dialed in with a modem and you could connect to a local community, and I was involved in that.

And then the Internet came along and supplanted bulletin boards.

And then, like I said, in the 1990’s, I started a tech company, which operationally was headquartered in Ottawa, Canada. And Ottawa was a high-tech center. There was a lot of high-tech companies based there. And that was a fantastic experience.

And then the dot-com crash happened, and that took out 90%, nine-zero percent of the tech companies in Ottawa.

Our company survived, but it was brutal. To get through that was just unbelievable, and it practically killed me.

But the company never fully recovered from that, because for years after the dot-com crash, it was extremely hard to get any kind of investment or support to keep your company going.

Now, of course, we all know that the Internet went on to become huge, like Google, Facebook, all of these companies became enormous. We now have YouTube, and so on.

So the long-term vision from the 1990’s was right. It just took longer to play out than people realized it was going to.

And that brings me to today, which, like I said, is heartbreaking for me.

Now, there’s a lot of things about the Internet currently that have really bothered me, and I have wanted to talk about this for a long time.

Primarily it has to do with how all of the major tech companies have consolidated so much power and influence that they basically are controlling the Internet. And I always thought that was a bad thing.

…the major tech companies have consolidated so much power and influence that they basically are controlling the Internet.

I had one of the first [of] 1,100 websites on the Internet, and I kind of longed for those days where people could create things, put them up, and stuff would happen.

You didn’t need to rely on any platforms to do this. You didn’t need Substack. You didn’t need Patreon. You didn’t need YouTube or Spotify. You didn’t need Shopify. No third parties. Anybody could create a website independently.

Now Google doesn’t work as well as it used to. It’s littered with all kinds of junk.

It’s very hard for people to find new websites or to connect with people independently.

You have to have almost a computer science degree to code websites now. It’s gotten extremely complicated. That’s a huge barrier for entry for a lot of people. If people can’t find your content, you don’t exist.

And these huge companies have basically bought up all these smaller players and consolidated that technology, the rights to that technology, and so forth.

So I’ve been battling that myself. In fact, there’s a huge thing going on now where a lot of people on YouTube, for example, are leaving the platform or they’re reducing their content creation, because YouTube has made pretty dramatic changes to the way the system works. And they can just do that arbitrarily at any time with no justification to the creators.

And so content creators these days are having huge issues with all of the changes that are occurring that they have no control over. It’s like they don’t really control their own destiny.

This is what happens when too much power gets concentrated in the hands of a few players. It’s bad.

Again, I long for the days of the Internet when it was much more simple and it was a much more level playing field. But those days are gone.

But the really heartbreaking part of all this right now is something else that I have been wanting to talk about for a long time, which is artificial intelligence. I did mention this in a discussion I had with Irish Granny Tarot back in December.

But it’s this.

The way these AI models work is they basically go out and they scoop up everything that’s on the Internet. They take all of this content, all of this information, all of this data. They conglomerate it and they will regurgitate it.

And when people use artificial intelligence to create things, the models will actually go through all this data they’ve compiled and regurgitate information to the user. The problem with this is that the people who created the content don’t get any credit for it.

So right now if you go onto Google and you search for something, you will get a list of links that you will click on and go to the source and read that information. With the new AI search engines, you completely bypass that.

Why is this such a dramatic problem?

It’s because the content creators don’t get any credit for the content they produced that the AI engines are using to feed people information.

So it used to be that people would search for something on Google, they would click on a link, they would go to your website where you would present the information. So Google is like a middleman.

And the content creators could generate money from advertising or from subscriptions or some other way of monetizing their content. But with AI that’s gone. It’s like the content creators don’t even exist.

So it’s kind of like a parasitic relationship where the AI engines are gobbling up everything on the Internet and then feeding it back to people on demand.

…it’s kind of like a parasitic relationship where the AI engines are gobbling up everything on the Internet and then feeding it back to people on demand.

If content creators aren’t going to get any credit for their work and all the time they put into creating it – and I know because like for example I have a website that I have put countless hours into creating, not to mention the content and the transcripts of them – and basically what I’m doing is I’m feeding these AI engines without getting any credit for it whatsoever.

In fact it’s so bad now that these AI models can take a YouTube video, extract all the information from it, produce a concise summary, and provide people with that information without them even having to watch the video.

So there is no longer any incentive for people to create content. And if you take into account everything from the press, the media, blogs on all kinds of different topics and subjects, all kinds of platforms that host content and information, billions and billions of documents and pages and content that are now effectively completely redundant. They are not redundant for the models, but they are redundant in the sense that there is no more incentive for people to create this content.

And that is what made the Internet so incredible and so amazing, and for me personally, gave me so much joy, entertainment, and education for decades.

So we now are on the cusp of a crisis because why would anybody create content if it can just be sucked up or vacuumed up by some AI search engine such that no one will ever go look at your content directly?

Now you could be thinking that “Well you could paywall this, you know, you could charge people for access to information.” But one of the things that made the Internet great was that you could access free information 24/7 and you could stumble upon things that you never knew existed. You could find communities, you could educate yourself, you could entertain yourself, you could learn and learn and learn, which is what I did for many, many years, and why I love the Internet.

I can go and read the news in Israel or Tokyo or Germany or Italy or Australia or wherever, whenever I want. But there will be no more incentive for people to publish content, unless they have a paywall, and there’s only a small percentage of people that are willing to subscribe to get content or to pay for it.

Not only that, but most people in the world can’t afford these kinds of things, they don’t even have credit cards.

So how will these content creators survive? I just don’t see how it’s possible.

Obviously there’s already been huge layoffs in the media. Places like the LA Times have laid off huge amounts of staff. The Washington Post not too long ago laid off a lot of staff.

This should be very, very concerning to us because the fourth estate, the media, journalism, is a critical component of democracy and keeping power in check.

But if they can’t survive, and even if independent content creators can’t make a living creating content, then this represents a huge problem for humanity, as far as I’m concerned. It’s terrible.

It’s possible that this will get resolved somehow in a way that is equitable and beneficial, but at this point in time I don’t see how that happens.

Like I said, it’s just not realistic to expect that all of these publishers and content creators can survive without being able to monetize their content somehow.

And we’re talking about probably millions of people, whether they’re writers, programmers, website creators, graphic designers, film and video producers and creators, or whatever. Millions of jobs. Good creative people. Intelligent inspired people, in many cases.

…we’re talking about probably millions of people, whether they’re writers, programmers, website creators, graphic designers, film and video producers and creators, or whatever. Millions of jobs.

So like I said, I find this turn of events heartbreaking because to me it’s a major blow to what began in the 1980s and 1990s.

I’ve talked a lot about Pluto transiting Aquarius on my channel. I first published on that topic two years ago, way before most people were talking about this.

Very fundamentally, the 11th house or Aquarius is society at large, technology. Pluto is death and rebirth.

And I see this collapse of these ways of us connecting socially as a global community to be devastating.

Like I said, these AI search engines are parasitic.

There are efforts to try and control this, but I don’t see how they will succeed practically. Because you could set up a search engine in Hungary or Croatia or South Africa or China. How do you apply laws to prevent this from happening around the world?

I personally have made friends as a result of the Internet that I have had for decades. People of like mind, like outlook, like perspective, and so on. People that I would not have met casually in my own local environment because there just weren’t a lot of people who had similar views or interests.

But you can or used to be able to connect with them through social media platforms. Now social media platforms, as I said, have degraded enormously in recent years, but that potential is still there, or at least it was.

So in summary, I think AI represents the death of the Internet as we know it, which, like I said, for me is very sad.

I have to say also that I had a dream about a year ago which alluded to this, but it didn’t make sense to me until now. I had that dream on February 28th of 2023.

And without telling you the dream, my take on it was that the Internet was kind of like barren or just like dead vines, dry, like there was no life in it anymore.

And I took it personally because, like I said, I’ve had such a close and important relationship with the Internet for decades, but it’s only now that I understand what that dream actually represented. Very sad for me.

To give myself as an example, I could create a whole episode on a topic about astrology and then my content could be sucked up by one of these AI search engines and presented to millions of people who would never actually see me as being the source of that.

They’re benefiting. I’m getting nothing out of it.

There’s very little incentive for me to do that as a volunteer effort so that some Silicon Valley financed company can basically profit off my content without even attributing it to me. They might have a tiny little link to me there, but who’s going to read it because they don’t need to. The AI will summarize all of my content and feed it to other people. Gawd…

Another point I want to raise is that right now there’s a huge backlash going on from governments towards social media companies and search engines and the like.

Now my gut instinct on this is that it’s not what it seems.

A lot of people have a lot of valid concerns about disinformation, foreign covert electoral interference, which let’s face it, the US has been doing for generations. Stuff that’s inappropriate for children and the like. Fair enough, we should do something about that. However, I do not trust the government to regulate the Internet.

And this is happening here in Canada and I think it’s going to be happening in the States.

The reason we should be concerned is, is that these politicians are heavily influenced by lobby groups and special interests who have hidden agendas. They want to control the flow of information.

And what we’ll see is that buried in a lot of this legislation will be loopholes and unintended consequences that we can’t foresee yet.

And let’s face it, most of these politicians know absolutely nothing about how the Internet actually works. They tend to be very, very poorly informed.

This has been playing out in Canada, where we have members of Parliament and Senators who are typically old and they don’t really understand how things work. So they misinterpret things and they approach it in completely the wrong way. In counterproductive ways.

Once you give control over this to the Government, watch out. Even if they’re well-intentioned, they don’t know what they’re doing. So we should be very careful.

I also think that the right wing wants to be able to control the flow of information for very obvious reasons.

And they will use social hot button issues to allow this to happen. And then the next thing you know, when you have a Republican president, they will go after left-leaning media. They will go after the left, or people who are critical of their policies or policy agendas.

It is an extremely slippery slope and we should be extremely concerned about this.

It is an extremely slippery slope and we should be extremely concerned about this.

So if you think that shutting down or controlling the Internet is a good idea, you are probably sorely mistaken. And this is not where we want to go.

There have been some utterly ridiculous policies put forward here in Canada, that have fairly broad public support, because the public doesn’t really understand all this technical stuff or the implications of it either.

But I can see the dangers in it. We have to be extremely careful with this.

And I have raised this before in talking about Pluto and Aquarius, which is power abusing the flow of technology and information to the public.

Yes, nobody likes disinformation, especially me. I’ve talked a lot about that here.

We can’t be naive. When you grant extraordinary powers, you have to think what happens when the bad guys get their hands on it. What do they do? How do they abuse it?

We have to think this through very carefully. And I wouldn’t take anything that the right wing says at face value. If they are endorsing it, it probably benefits the plutocrats more than it does us. And that is to control or limit the flow of information. The implications should be terrifying.

So I thought I would share that with you because I’ve been seeing this coming for quite a long time. Talking about AI and the consolidation of power within the tech sector has been on my list of things to talk about for at least a year and a half. But I didn’t really have a context for it before. And now I do.

So I don’t know how it’s all going to shake out.

The most important thing about doing things like what I’m doing right now is the opportunity or ability to connect with other people of like mind.

But how will that happen in the future? Facebook sucks. How are we going to be connected socially?

And that has huge implications politically as well. There are social movements, social justice movements, causes, things like environmental issues and so forth.

How are we going to collaborate and connect, coordinate, organize, strategize? How will that occur in the future? I don’t know.

Twitter is gone. These tech billionaires have so much money they can just buy up any technology or any platform, and if they’re in a bad mood they can just destroy it and nobody can do anything about it.

Now Pluto just re-entered Aquarius on January 20th, less than two weeks ago. So this could be one of the darker expressions of Pluto in Aquarius, is how we are going to deal with this new world of technology and the concentration of power, the monopolies, the plutocrats. The oligarchs who are undermining our means of communicating, collaborating and organizing and becoming active.

The only way around this that I can see would be some kind of open source technology that cannot be bought, influenced or purchased, no matter how much money somebody has. But I have yet to see that happen.

The only way around this that I can see would be some kind of open source technology that cannot be bought, influenced or purchased, no matter how much money somebody has.

There’s too much money at stake. It’s kind of like if somebody came up with a way to generate your own power independently and cleanly. There’s a huge incentive for the status quo players to block or limit that from becoming readily available because it would destroy their business.

So I don’t know what the answer is, but I thought I’d put that out there. Because I do understand all of these implications in ways that maybe some people don’t, because I’ve been using communications and Internet technology since the mid-1980s.

I have been working hard on my website to add quite a few episode transcripts there.

I also encourage you to add yourself to my contact list, which you can do at my website, which is AquarianDiary.com. If you do that, you will receive an email that you need to use to confirm your subscription to my contact list. You won’t be added unless you confirm.

We’re probably going to need to find ways to stay connected, and I’ve talked about that before too, a long time ago.

Please check the episode description as I always put links in there that I think are related or important.

Again, for more detail, check the episode description for other episodes or articles that are related or that I mentioned.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all, welcome to Aquarian Diary.

I’m your host, John Irving.

It is January 28th, 2024.

What I’m going to talk about here today may seem a little bit out of left field.

I actually have a long list of really interesting topics I want to publish. I’ve gotten a lot of downloads recently, many of which are really interesting.

Especially in the last half of 2023, I had a lot of challenging Saturn transits. A whole slew of them. And Saturn is transiting my 12th house, which in and of itself is rather challenging. So it’s been very hard and very interesting at the same time.

Now one of those transits that has been going on has been transiting Saturn conjuncting my natal Chiron. Natal Chiron in Pisces in the 12th. If you’re a student of astrology, you’ll have a sense of what that’s about.

This is an underrated transit in terms of its effects. This is very much a kind of “woe is me” period and it can be very emotionally debilitating. And it can feel like the world is against you.

This only happens every 28 or 29 years. So it’s not common.

Chiron represents our core wounding, whether we are aware of it or not. This wounding is often associated with traumas that occurred in our formative years, typically with family, who we also have a lot of karma with. But it also deals with past life traumas and wounding. It’s a wound that we can never get rid of, but that we can heal.

And as one matures and we have mastered that wounding, there’s the potential for us to help others who have suffered similar wounding, to become the wounded healer. That’s a real nutshell explanation.

One of the things about our core wounding is that we tend not to want to look at it because it is too provocative or triggering. Most of us prefer to have pleasant experiences. Of course. Why would we want to suffer?

And yet, if we don’t confront our wounding, it will victimize us and limit our potential. And it’ll keep getting triggered and showing up in all kinds of weird ways.

And the less conscious we are of our wounding, the less we have mastered it, the more vulnerable we are to it disrupting our life and our potential.

So ultimately, if we want to ascend, we have to confront our wounding or do our shadow work, however you want to phrase it. It’s absolutely critical.

I’ve had that experience many times where I have been cruising along thinking everything is great and then something will trigger me and it will throw me off course.

When Saturn makes aspects to Chiron, it demands that we approach our wounding in a very realistic, practical and mature way. Saturn does not let us off the hook.

Now I’m not young, so I have had this transit occur before.

When Saturn conjuncts your Chiron, it’s not pleasant because a lot of your wounding will be triggered and brought into your conscious awareness. And like I said, most of us don’t like to focus on these kinds of things.

It’s not fun. It’s difficult. It’s threatening. It’s disturbing. It’s uncomfortable. Who wants to be weak and vulnerable?

That’s the core of this experience, is recognizing your weakness and your vulnerability.

But then the question is, what do you do about it?

If you’re more mature, and I am at least by age, then you confront your wounding and your weaknesses and your vulnerabilities honestly and directly. The more confident and fearless you are about doing that, the more you will get done.

Now the 12th house, where this is occurring for me, can deal with a lot of the non-material aspects of reality.

So this can be like tapping into the collective trauma or wounding of society and reality. And there’s a lot of darkness there. There’s a lot of fear. There’s a lot of trauma.

Why am I explaining all this?

Because it’s drawn to my awareness how our society tends to avoid dealing with or confronting or even acknowledging these kinds of matters.

Take for example how we deal with things like homelessness. Right now there are people on the streets who at some point in the past had a family, a career, a three-bedroom home in the suburbs, and then they find themselves in circumstances where they lose everything and they have no choice but to live on the streets.

It could be because, for example, they couldn’t pay medical bills or they got bankrupted because of a health condition or something like that. Or maybe they had psychological problems or drug addiction or whatever it was.

And then our culture in many ways just kind of pretends that this isn’t actually happening, that that can’t happen to me, which is one of the ways that this gets perpetuated – this cycle – because nobody wants to think that that could happen to them.

Or we victim blame, which is a very low consciousness projection.

But my whole point is that at some point a lot of these people were just like us, and then they find themselves in these extremely challenging, difficult, and uncomfortable situations. And we as a society kind of sweep them under the rug, if not criminalize them.

And this is a very profound disservice and injustice to these people. It’s like kicking them when they’re down. It’s horrible.

These are the most vulnerable people in our society. And the true measure of our society is how we treat our most vulnerable people. If we do not treat them with respect and compassion, we are not an evolved society, regardless of what anyone says.

There are many seniors right now who retired thinking that they had enough money to survive through their retirement years. And because of inflation and higher interest rates, the skyrocketing cost of housing and health care, they’re finding that they’re not prepared in a way they thought they were. So these people, in fact, are now becoming vulnerable and marginalized as well. Many of them.

But this also occurs on the spiritual dimensions, where people who have experiences with dark psychic phenomenon are marginalized, rejected, or ostracized.

We portray these kinds of things a lot in film, think the horror genre. And people are fascinated by this, of course.

But in reality, people who experience these kinds of things can’t talk about it because they will be perceived as being crazy or threatened with being locked up in an institution.

Some people are mentally unstable. Let’s be clear about that. But not everyone.

And I myself have had many, many encounters with the darker aspects of reality for whatever reason going back to my childhood. And I have personally taken measures over the years to protect myself from those kinds of situations. I think it’s just simply because I’m psychically open or wired in a lot of ways that allows me to be able to perceive these kinds of things.

So what I’m saying is that sometimes these things are real.

I’m explaining all this because there needs to be a place for people who experience these kinds of things to be able to share those experiences and learn how to manage them without fear of being ostracized or stigmatized.

In fact, the worst thing that can happen here is that these people get increasingly isolated. You do not want to be in a state of fear when you are confronting these kinds of energies. It makes you more vulnerable.

My point is that people these days are more open about psychic phenomenon. This is something that we can’t explain scientifically or completely rationally. The majority of people are in complete denial about this kind of stuff.

Let’s face it, in the not too distant past, if not still to this day, people who experienced these kinds of things would have been thrown into mental institutions if not burned at the stake. That’s how bad it is.

People who are prone to these kinds of things need to learn ways of dealing with them that are constructive and positive. And that is possible. But it’s not likely to occur if our society just completely rejects the reality of this.

I am not in any way condoning darkness or the deliberate pursuit of it at all. I myself have made a solemn oath to be aligned with the path of light and truth. I am unwaveringly committed to that path, period.

However, we are not being of service to our brothers and our sisters if we deny their experiences and stigmatize them.

Now some people are having these kinds of experiences for karmic reasons, but even that can be addressed.

So I’m sharing this today, rather unexpectedly, because it came up for me very clearly and I had some insights into this that I wanted to share with you. It’s an uncomfortable topic, but it’s something that ultimately our society will need to confront in a constructive, compassionate way.

We are all members of the human family, and it behooves us, for all of us, to be uplifted and healed.

There is collective karma and trauma that humanity has to resolve or it will continue to occur, and the vast majority of us do not want to continue experiencing collective trauma, whether it’s through war or on the psychic levels.

Part of our collective upliftment in the Aquarian age will be for those who have the courage and the fortitude and the wisdom to help humanity to constructively move forward on these levels. So we have to help anyone in need, and I have made the point here before that we need to help our most vulnerable people.

Pretending that they don’t exist or that their reality is invalid is choosing ignorance and its folly.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all! Welcome to Aquarian Diary.

I’m your host, John Irving.

It is January 10th, 2024. The bulk of this was recorded on January 8th.

You know, this period we’re going through is just so intense and disturbing and alarming. And I can’t stop thinking about it because there’s aspects of what we’re experiencing right now collectively that are just so dark.

Having said that, I have done several episodes talking about Pluto transiting 29 degrees of Capricorn, this anaretic degree, which is where we are now. And I even did ones that were kind of intuitive, where I talked about how we would be going through this challenging period and that it would be hard for us to kind of maintain perspective.

Pluto will begin its second transit in recent history of Aquarius on January 20th. That’s only 10 days from now. So hopefully that brings about the kind of breath of fresh air that we probably really need.

And as usual, I’ll put links in the episode description to those other episodes as well. Some of them I published quite a while ago.

Here in the Northern Hemisphere, of course, we’re in kind of the darkest days of winter. So that kind of adds to this heaviness of energy as well. And I’ve found lately that my energy can fluctuate a lot. Like one day I feel great and the next day I don’t feel great at all. And I’m tired and, you know, just feel like I have no mojo, you know.

But what I really wanted to talk about here today was how this period of time we’ve gone through, especially in the last eight or nine years or so, has been really shocking in the sense that we’re seeing the darkest aspects of humanity and it can be quite agonizing, as I just described.

And one of the fundamental components of this, I think, is how there seems to be no appreciation of the value of truth itself. And being someone who’s older, I can actually attest, at least in my own experience, that things have been very different in recent history than they were when I was growing up.

To put this in perspective, think about it this way. If you had a good friend or a partner or a wife or husband or something like that, and they lied to you about something significant or important, and then you found out about it, that would fundamentally alter your perception of them and probably the way you dealt with them going forward.

Because typically if somebody lies to you or misrepresents something in a significant way, it increases the likelihood that they will do it again or they’ve done it in other ways that you just don’t know about yet. So we then end up kind of putting barriers around us with respect to our involvement or engagement with these kinds of people.

And it can take a toll on both of us going forward, whether they realize it or not. They’re being penalized for their behavior because they’ve broken trust with you and you because you’re disappointed because somebody important let you down.

I don’t think there’s anybody who wouldn’t feel some remorse or regret in a situation like that. It can literally lead to the breakup of a relationship and even a divorce. So these are really significant implications.

Another example, somebody that you hire or pay for some services or goods performs poorly, you’re much less likely to go back there or to refer other people to them because again, they’ve broken your trust and they’ve let you down.  These are just fundamental examples of human interaction. It makes perfect sense. If somebody lies or cheats or steals, it marks them.

But what we’ve seen happen on a broader scale in recent years is that lying, cheating and stealing on a large scale has been normalized to become much more socially acceptable, or at least more commonplace, than it used to be.  And again, based on my age, I can say that with a high degree of certainty. It’s not a bias of mine. I think most people would agree with that assessment.

And this has really profound implications because what we have seen is that this can result in really significant harm or adverse effects on millions, if not billions of people. Because we don’t have the same kinds of checks and balances around what’s socially acceptable that we used to.

So if you’re like me, you’ve been wondering, why is this? What is going on? What is in the air that has allowed this to reach these new levels?

We have degrees of hypocrisy, especially, for example, with the religious right, that seem to be completely off the charts. And if you’re somebody who places a high value on truth and integrity and honor, this can be really unsettling and disturbing.

This kind of behavior has really profound implications. We have massive numbers of people, for example, in the United States, that believe flat out falsehoods and conspiracy theories that are totally detached from the facts and objective reality. And nonetheless, they are convinced that what they believe is true. And there’s not a lot of hope to change their opinion.

And the widespread use of disinformation and misinformation has caused a lot of people to lose faith in institutions and the media because so much of it is complete BS. And they know this.

That is not to say that there aren’t many credible and trustworthy news organizations and reporters and journalists out there. There are, but they operate in a polluted and toxic ecosystem of misinformation. So the broad public perception of that whole industry is tainted by the conditions of the overall environment, which, like I said, is completely polluted.

And as far as I’m concerned, the fact that things are that way in itself is deliberate. Because if you want to promote or push forward policies or a policy agenda that average people, just based on common sense, would reject, and that experts and qualified people reject – in other words, reality opposes you – then what do you do?  You attempt to undermine reality itself. You discredit the media. You discredit the experts. You discredit the institutions. And you do this subversively and intentionally. And we have tons of evidence that that’s exactly what happens.

On the environmental front, Professor Naomi Oreskes wrote a really important book called Merchants of Doubt. In it, she describes how the tobacco industry came up with a public relations playbook that ended up keeping tobacco more readily available and without all the health warnings and so forth. For years and years and years, they managed to stall legislation, which would have negatively affected their profits, through all kinds of propaganda, misinformation, disinformation, and deceit.

She then makes an extremely compelling case that the fossil fuel industry adopted the same playbook to prevent or limit regulations on the use of fossil fuels, which are necessary to combat the global environmental crisis. And again, the tactics – the playbook – are all about deceit, sowing doubt and confusion in the minds of the public, subversively undermining experts, expertise, and institutions, primarily scientists and scientific research. And they literally spent hundreds of millions of dollars to accomplish this, and regrettably, they have been phenomenally successful.

I would take that a step further and say those same techniques that the fossil fuel industry used have been deployed in the political sphere, resulting in the kinds of consequences most of us are dealing with on a daily basis.

My whole point about this is that vested interests have deliberately undermined our faith and trust in institutions, from the media, to politics, to science, higher education, and academia, and of course the government, who might regulate them, and so on. As a means of sowing doubt and confusion and polarization, which then allows them to get away with things that they otherwise wouldn’t be able to because you can’t achieve consensus on any topic anymore.

And then this culture of lying and deceit, aided by prominent news networks, who benefit financially from being aligned with these special interest groups, basically are responsible for this state of societal chaos that we are in the midst of right now. And I can’t emphasize enough how dangerous and significant this is.

You could take any topic, say for example the environment, we have done hardly anything about this, even though we’ve known for decades that it was urgent. Think about the implications and costs of that inaction. Think about the polarization and gridlock in the United States of America, the most powerful country in the world.

It could be any topic, like health care. People go bankrupt because they can’t get health care. Meanwhile most advanced countries in the world, like in Europe or here in Canada, have socialized medicine. Those kinds of things just don’t happen. You’re not going to have to sell your house if you get cancer. Why does this persist? It persists because people are completely misinformed as a result of all the lies and propaganda and the deployment of things like social media campaigns that are specifically engineered to confuse people.

So again I’m making the argument that this is extremely dangerous and costly. We are far too sophisticated technologically to have huge chunks of our population completely misinformed about really important topics. We have military capabilities that could end life on this earth. And we need to recognize that truth does matter, that it’s not as subjective as many people think it is, and that we need to clamp down on those people, groups, and organizations that are deliberately promoting misinformation and disinformation.

One of the greatest threats to humanity is actually disinformation, for those very reasons. If we didn’t have massive numbers of people who were deliberately misinformed about the global environmental emergency, we probably would have started doing something about it decades ago. We’re talking about trillions and trillions of dollars of costs that will result from a lack of timely and adequate response to that existential threat.

Or it could result in something like military conflict on a large scale.

To me, this is the biggest lesson of recent history, is that we need to value and honor truth and integrity and safeguard it. Because the lack of it is literally a direct threat to our survival, and our safety, and our health, and our well-being, and the health and well-being and prosperity of current and future generations, as well as the biosphere, which are literally critical for our survival.

All the lying and deception have brought us to a point of peril environmentally, politically, and socially. And if we don’t recognize that and do something about it, we could go right off the deep end.

So just like in my previous episode, titled “Stop Enabling Nihilistic Culture Warriors,” I’m saying that we have to stand up for and go after those who are promoting mass amounts of disinformation and misinformation. We need new laws, they need to be held accountable. We have to recognize that propaganda, disinformation, and misinformation are weapons of mass destruction. Period.

Think about it. Just think about everything that’s happened that has resulted from all of the high-level lying and deception, misinformation, disinformation, and propaganda that has occurred in recent years. I wouldn’t challenge anyone to argue that the implications of that are not profound and very dangerous.

Of course, we need to have a place for free speech, but misinformation and disinformation is like an infectious disease and it spreads if you do not hold it in check. And that is the lesson of this recent period of human history.

Now hopefully, come January 20th, when we get the energy of Pluto in Aquarius, that’s exactly what will start to happen.

It’s like now we have a significant portion of the population that needs to be deprogrammed, like they’ve fallen under the spell of a cult of lies. And some of it is self-deception, but a lot of it has its roots in these completely immoral and unethical organizations that profit from deceit. It is completely shameful and in many ways these people should be ostracized, but also held accountable.

We just have to decide that we will no longer tolerate that anymore because it is extremely harmful. It’s like the opioid crisis, but even worse, because it’s so widespread.

And that’s just a matter of us setting standards, holding ourselves to high standards, and holding others to similar standards too.

Going back to the beginning, if somebody that you trusted broke your trust by deceiving you about something important, there’s a consequence for that to them. You’re going to feel bad, you’re going to feel hurt, but they’re going to actually suffer more because they’re going to lose opportunities, or your friendship, or your relationship, or whatever the case may be.

Extrapolating from that to the bigger picture, it should be the same process. And if we need to update our laws and our judicial systems, then we should, because the stakes are literally existential.

Did anyone ever think that in the early part of the 21st century, that America’s democracy would literally be in peril? I never thought I would see that. And that’s not just my opinion. There are scores, countless, thinkers, academics, scholars, commentators, journalists, and politicians who are saying the same thing. It’s not hyperbole.

My argument is that this is a cultural problem, and it has to do with our complacency and carelessness about not holding people accountable for their behavior. If someone is spreading lies, or disinformation, or misinformation, at the very least, they should be called out on it and taken to task.

And if it’s a business doing this, they should be held accountable in the courts for any damages that their actions have caused. You can’t run into a theater and yell “fire” if there’s no fire actually occurring. It’s completely irresponsible, and it’s dangerous.

And we have to hold the media and these other organizations that have been doing that for years to the same standard. It’s really that simple. We have to make it socially unacceptable to lie about things that can cause significant harm to society. We do not allow companies to grossly misrepresent their products in ways that can cause harm to people, the public commons, or property.

I’m essentially arguing that we need to criminalize disinformation. Literally, we don’t have a choice. We prosecute people for vastly less consequential crimes on a daily basis.

We need to protect ourselves and society from ruthless and unscrupulous criminals, as well as their accomplices and enablers.

Critically important climate milestones – Jan 8, 2024

Regrettably, but unsurprisingly, it was reported today that 2023 smashed the record for world’s hottest year by huge margin.

Today The Guardian also published some extraordinary and very significant remarks made by Prof James Hansen which I encapsulated in the graphic displayed below. Hansen made these remarkable statements when he was questioned about his recent assertions that we will surpass the 1.5°C threshold of global warming in 2024.

For something like 20 years (at least) I have been making similar arguments about the IPCC – that its projections were too conservative, and thus misleading. Many people who have known me for a long time can attest to this. I have also made many statements to this effect publicly via social media. So, being vindicated is an important but bittersweet milestone for me personally.

Today, when sharing the graphic below, I included with the following preamble:

“These statements by Prof James Hansen finally vindicate what a few of us (myself included) have been adamantly proclaiming for many, many years. The significance of this cannot be overstated. The IPCC has been widely considered to be the definitive source for “credible” data and guidance on this urgently important topic of global concern.”

Text version of this graphic:

Prof James Hansen:

“the 1.5C global warming ceiling has been passed for all practical purposes… Passing through the 1.5C world is a significant milestone because it shows that the story being told by the United Nations, with the acquiescence of its scientific advisory body, the IPCC, is a load of bullshit”

Stop Enabling Nihilistic Culture Warriors

I discuss how the left got played (again!) by nihilistic right wing culture warriors. This is a pattern that keeps repeating over and over. The media needs to start accurately reporting what is happening and stop falling for self-evident ploys which enable events such as what recently happened to ex Harvard President Claudine Gay. The media should be more than capable of handling such situation responsibly by now.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all! Welcome to Aquarian Diary.

I’m your host, John Irving.

It is January 7th, 2024.

I will be displaying some graphics on the screen. If that matters to you, you may prefer to watch this on YouTube if you’re not.

I just want to comment on a topic that has really struck a nerve with me recently that I think is not receiving the kind of attention it deserves.

And this has to do with the right-wing attack on the leadership of Ivy League universities in America.

Why does this bother me so much? Because to me what’s happening is extremely transparent.

The right-wing is using this as a means to undermine a lot of social progress that has occurred over the past few generations.

Anybody who’s been following right-wing extremists or politics or culture wars in recent years knows exactly what motivates these people. They’re not motivated by academic standards or rigor. At all.

It’s about racism, misogyny, and xenophobia, and trying to normalize that, or make it socially acceptable.

And what infuriates me so much about this is that it underscores again how incredibly naive many people on the left can be, and this includes the pundit class.

They look at this as a technical exercise. Did Claudine Gay commit plagiarism or not? Yes or no? Without considering what is motivating this and what their agenda is.

And in effect, what happens is that a portion of the commentariat effectively is enabling this to occur, which to me represents the thin edge of a very dangerous wedge and slippery slope. Because now what they will do, based on what they perceive as a success, is they will start going after all kinds of academics, professors, teachers, curriculum, etc., on a much larger scale, which has terrifying implications for academia, our culture, and our society.

It brings to mind what happened to Al Franken, and I’m not condoning what he did, but the standards that were applied to him are in no way fairly applied to those on the other side of the political spectrum. Everybody should be aware of that. If you’re not aware of the history of this, I encourage you to read up on it.

Again, there’s this infuriating naivete on the part of the left Not only is this a danger, as I have already described, to all of these institutions and our whole education system, but it also creates a wedge on the left side of the political spectrum where now you have people arguing or debating or being polarized over this issue.

So now we have all of these wedges being hammered into the left, and the left is not only just letting it happen, but in my view, being complicit in that. That’s the infuriating part, it’s the complicity and the naivete, which is a level of ignorance and denial about what’s actually happening and what this threat represents to us on a broader scale.

We’ve seen these kinds of situations play out for years in all kinds of fields, whether it’s the environment, the judiciary, gerrymandering, or voting rights, or abortion, or all of these topics. There’s this confounding, like I said, naivete and stupidity, really, is what it is.

Now, a lot of people have been commenting on this. I’ve posted quite a few articles on my community tab on this topic.

There was one in particular that I thought articulated this the best out of the bunch, and that was by Maura Donegan in The Guardian on January 4th, titled “Claudine Gay’s Resignation Had Nothing to Do with Plagiarism”.

I will include links to some of these articles in the description.

This whole scenario clearly illustrates one of the greatest vulnerabilities of the left, and that is, like I said, the naivete that effectively often leads to enabling.

Our social standards and norms and institutions have been being chipped away at for decades, with increasing intensity recently, and people are standing by and allowing this to happen, and it is extremely dangerous. People need to shake their heads and wake up.

Joe Biden gave a very impassioned speech on January 6th, which I applaud, because basically he took the gloves off and started speaking the truth about the threat to democracy that the United States faces, and I’m thrilled about that.

I don’t agree with all of Joe Biden’s policies. But finally, the Democrats seem to have taken off the gloves, and are fighting back. The Democrats have long sort of taken a knife to a gunfight, and that has always boggled my mind. Democracy is slipping away, and we need to very forcefully confront that.

Astonishingly, even after many, many years, the left falls into the same traps over and over and over, and it has to stop.

As I have commented, it took years before the mainstream media started calling Trump’s lies, lies, even though it was blatantly evident to everyone that he was lying incessantly and deliberately and dangerously. But they would not point that out explicitly for a very long time, even though it was true and plainly self-evident. Like, it’s just jaw-dropping. It’s starting to happen now, thank God, but why didn’t it happen 8 years ago?

This is not to mention all the false equivalencies, false balance, both-sidesing, whataboutism, double standards, and all those other nauseating and cowardly habits that were familiar with from the mainstream media, who’ve been doing that for decades. All in the name of honoring neutrality, like for example giving the same credence or airtime to a highly credentialed expert as they do to some completely unqualified random right-wing blogger, or social media influencer, or clinically insane conspiracy theorist.

There’s no question that the right-wing is completely delusional. A quarter of the American population believes that the January 6th insurrection was instigated by the FBI. A quarter of the American population is completely out of touch with reality, on just that one topic. Like, how can that be? It’s just absurd.

But the left is also delusional in the sense that they seem to be in denial about the nature of the threat that we are confronted with, and the tactics that they overtly employ, repeatedly.

Anybody who has done any amount of reading on the extreme right playbook, coupled with their actual actions and behavior, should know exactly what their agenda is. In fact, now we know very explicitly what the agenda is, because the plan for what’s going to happen if Trump gets re-elected is out on the table. Anybody can go read it. It’s right there in black and white. It’s not debatable. It’s irrefutable.

It amounts to a plan to install a fascistic, authoritarian, and theocratic dictatorship, which clearly and plainly contradicts core democratic principles and values. We don’t need to speculate about this. It’s black and white. It’s like we’re in a war, but people won’t admit it. And that has to end.

We need to stop being naive, stop playing into their hands, stop being complicit in allowing them to undermine and chip away at our institutions and our democratic principles and values and norms, rules and laws. And, as I argued in a recent episode, the adults need to step up and take control, to avoid an absolute calamity.

One of the things we can do is that when pundits, journalists, or commentators openly play into their hands and basically further their agenda, we can call them out for it and say you need to stop doing this. You are part of the problem.

On January 6th, there was new video released, which shows the Capitol Hill insurrectionists trying to breach the House of Representatives. It’s about 8 minutes long. It’s really disturbing.

When I was watching this, what I thought about, which I didn’t see many people comment on, was the fact that these people are not the sharpest tacks in the box. They’re not the brightest bulbs, if you know what I mean. Clearly, you can tell that.

And what I thought was that these people are the victims of disinformation, which caused them to act in such a bizarre and dangerous fashion. And that the real perpetrators here are those that were promoting the misinformation that caused this to occur, but that they’re not being held accountable. It would be the news networks, the politicians, the social media platforms, the blogs, and right-wing press. They are responsible for what happened here.

Many of these people are just not that bright. It’s really disturbing when you look at it from that perspective. Many of these people’s lives have been completely ruined, and they should be suing the politicians and organizations that promoted propaganda and lies that instigated this.

When something really sticks with me like this topic has, I know, I just know, it’s really important.

The right wants to unwind all of the accomplishments that the left has made going back to the 1960s. And we are allowing them to do it.

Despite their blatant hypocrisy, despite the fact that we know what their true motives are, and despite the fact that we know what their agenda is, which is clearly illiberal and anti-democratic, we need to stop enabling them. We need to put our foot down. We just need to stop it. Or we are in big trouble.

Even those who don’t consider themselves to be on the left but favor reason or are pro-democracy should consider this.

Again, for more detail, check the episode description for other episodes or articles that are related or that I mentioned.

And if you’re interested in a reading with me, I’ll put a link to that as well. I have a 20% off special on currently.

Boomers: Defining a Legacy – The astrology of a generational inflection point

I discuss what I think members of the Boomer demographic should devote themselves to, in coming years, to address generational inequality and leave a laudable legacy for future generations (eg Millennials, Generation Z, etc.).

In my opinion the Boomer generation is comprised of people who were born with Pluto in Leo in their natal chart. Pluto was in Leo between 1937-1958 (check your natal chart to be sure, especially if you were born near the beginning or end of this time period).

Episode transcript:

Greetings all! Welcome to Aquarian Diary. I’m your host, John Irving.

It is January 2nd, 2024. The bulk of this was recorded on December 31st, 2023.

I will be displaying some graphics on the screen. If that matters to you, you may prefer to watch this on YouTube.

Happy 2024 everyone! Such an interesting time.

Jupiter went direct on December 30th.

Mercury went direct on the night of January 1st.

In a few weeks, on January 20th, Pluto will enter Aquarius, which I have talked a lot about here.

Finally, Uranus will go direct on January 27th.

At that point, there will be no retrograde planets until April 1st, when Mercury goes retrograde. So this is a period where we will be in full steam ahead energies.

So it’s kind of nice to have 2023 in the rear view mirror.

You know, one of the things about Jupiter is that it does, in some respects, cover the law. So we had all these weird squabbles around legal matters and issues, and everyone was very focused on that, particularly around Donald Trump.

Jupiter had been retrograde between September 4th and December 30th. So now that Jupiter is going direct again, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a little less hesitation with respect to legal matters, prosecutions, indictments, and so forth.

It would be nice to put the whole 45 affair behind us too. Wouldn’t that be a relief? We could actually think about and worry about things that actually matter. Like democracy, or the environment, or solving the polycrisis that humanity faces.

Come on, let’s get it over with. I talked a lot about this in my episode titled “The Infant Rebellion.” Fingers crossed I was right about that.

Today I want to talk about something that’s been on my mind for a while. It’s just been kind of stewing in the back of my mind for quite some time now.

And I noticed that this subject is a bit triggering for people. So I want to preface this by saying that I hope people don’t perceive it that way.

What I’m going to be talking about is actually a call to action. And it came up in the discussion I had recently with Irish Granny Tarot, which I’ll put a link to in the description as usual. Always check the description if there’s any references I put links in there.

I was talking about how Pluto in Aquarius is going to be opposing the sign of Leo. And as far as I’m concerned, the generational cohorts are actually defined by their Pluto placement.

So the whole Pluto and Leo generation, which is really the post-war baby boomers, are going to be being opposed by Pluto. And this is a challenging aspect.

But we don’t necessarily need to be overly fearful of Pluto unless we’ve just been very negligent when it comes to dealing with the issues that Pluto in our natal chart represents. And of course, everyone will have Leo in a different house, one of 12 houses.

But this extended period, a 20-year cycle of Pluto opposing Leo, I just find the timing of it so fascinating. Because of course, many countries around the world now are really concerned about this cohort stepping into retirement, moving out of the workforce.

Of course, when they’re retired, for the most part, they’re not generating taxable income in the form of salaries. And they’re aging, and they will require a lot of support medically and in terms of assisted living in many cases. And some will be experiencing things like dementia and stuff, right? This is just stuff that happens when you get to a certain age.

Now, just for the record, I’m not actually Pluto and Leo. I’m Pluto in Virgo. But most of my friends and mentors and spiritual teachers over the years were Pluto and Leo people.

So, I naturally gravitated towards them, because from my perspective, they were generally more mature than people of my own age. And I was interested always in deep subjects and topics.

I was really interested in things like spirituality and those kinds of topics from late teens, early 20s. Not typical. Most people don’t seem to get interested in this kind of stuff until 30s, 40s, whatever. It’s just the way it is. It’s just the way I’ve always been.

In fact, one of the people who I kind of considered my first mentor is the person who introduced me to astrology. And I was probably 20 years old, something like that. I remember that whole period very distinctly.

So, my point is that I have a tremendous amount of respect for that generation. And of course, the whole counter-cultural movement that arose in the 1960s, very interestingly when Pluto and Uranus conjuncted in Virgo in that time frame.

And now we have Pluto moving into Aquarius, and its ruler is Uranus. So, you can see the parallels, at least I hope.

And I have talked a lot about this in my episodes about Pluto in Aquarius, which I would encourage you to watch or listen to, because I’m not going to revisit all of that here. It would just be redundant.

But having said all that, so we got environmentalism, we got the anti-war movement, we got civil rights, all these kinds of things really came to a head in that period. Old cultural norms and stereotypes started to dissolve. We got so many things, arts, music I mean, just think of the music. Groundbreaking music, rock and roll, was a paradigm shift compared to anything that had existed before. And we still revere many of the musicians that arose in that period, which is like 60 years ago. It’s amazing. Art, film, oh my god, you could go on and on.

And perhaps even most importantly for me, was the blend of Eastern and Western religious and spiritual traditions. This was huge, huge, amazing, right?

And then they moved along, and they had kids, and they had careers, and they got into the workforce, and they started buying homes and accumulating wealth. Things that you naturally are inclined to do when you have responsibilities like children and grandchildren and things like that, of course, right?

But now humanity is at this point where for younger people, Generation Zs and Millennials, things are really difficult and the future is very gloomy.

A topic that is very important to me, of course, is the global environmental issue. And I hesitate to use terms here because I’ll just get flagged by the algorithms. But anyway, I digress.

But we have this global environmental problem that literally represents a clear and present danger to civilization itself.

The latest research and measurements and observations are off the charts. According to the latest research by James Hansen, Earth’s climate sensitivity is 4.8 degrees Celsius, which is substantially higher than had been understood.

That means that for a doubling of Earth’s atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations, that we will see average warming of 4.8 degrees Celsius. And Earth could warm significantly more if we do not take radical actions to curb our emissions.

Hansen et al calculate that climate equilibrium could be as much as 8 or 10 degrees Celsius, which is what will occur over a long period of time.

We started the industrial revolution at 280 ppm CO2. We’re now at like 422 ppm.

And at the current rate of emissions, it won’t be long before we reach that doubling of atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations, which bring us into that territory of 4.8 C of global warming.

James Hansen is considered to be the godfather of this science in many ways. And if you’ve done any reading about this, you know that those kinds of temperature increases will be utterly catastrophic to global ecosystems and environments and to civilization itself.

Last week, Australia had temperatures of 49 Celsius in parts of Australia. That’s 120 Fahrenheit. This is life threatening to animals, livestock, human beings, aquatic life, birds, reptiles, mammals, the works. Most creatures can’t survive very long in those kinds of temperatures. There’s a phenomenon called the wet bulb temperature, which measures how much heat and humidity people can survive in before they die. And it’s well below what those kinds of temperatures can inflict on people under certain circumstances.

Anyway, finally, I will get to the point. I just want to make sure that people understand how critical the current situation is.

This is on top of all of the issues of young people being burdened by massive amounts of student debt that they can’t get out from, even if they declare bankruptcy. They’re basically living in a form of indentured servitude. They have no hope of buying a home because they can’t generate the down payment unless they have wealthy parents who can support them.

And I’ve made the case here before that factoring in inflation, our incomes have actually been going down for decades.

And a lot of young people have no interest in starting families because they’re very concerned about the future environmentally, as they should be. There’s a lot to be very concerned about.

When I was a child, my parents hammered this into our heads, that if you ever go to a place, you visit a place, you’re a guest somewhere, or you borrow something from somebody, you always return it in at least as good condition as it was when you borrowed it or used it, if not better. So if you stayed at someone’s place, you tidied up, you made the bed, you did the laundry, you always leave a place better off than it was when you found it.

Both my parents, they had a really strong ethic about these kinds of things. And I think that that is a rule that should apply to the baby boomer generation as well.

So my argument is that the baby boomers, as they’re retiring, and they have a tremendous amount of wealth that they’ve stashed away, they should be, in my opinion – this is my suggestion – they should be devoting themselves to doing whatever it takes so that the world that they leave behind for future generations is better for everyone than it was when they arrived on the scene. Simple concept, right?

When my boomer friends were growing up, they had tremendous opportunities to go get a higher education. It was very inexpensive, almost nothing. You could work your way through university just on a summer job, and many of them did. That’s not true anymore, not even remotely. Kids go into crushing debt for decades.

And the environmental situation is really, really concerning, as I have described here and in other episodes.

So those baby boomers who are retiring, for example, could form groups or organizations or join groups or organizations that are trying to make the world a better place. They could brainstorm around questions like, “What do we need to change to make the world a better place?” It could be politically, it could be socially, it could be environmentally, it could be economically, it could be in terms of education or healthcare or housing or whatever it is.

If a portion of the baby boomers devoted themselves to this, they would win the respect, admiration, and appreciation from countless younger people. And that would be their legacy.

Now, if you’re a baby boomer who’s struggling to survive, and you don’t own a million-dollar house or whatever it is, I’m not suggesting that you devote huge amounts of your time to projects like this. But if you are somebody who’s secure and successful, and you have energy, time, or resources to spare, I really do think that that is what the baby boomer generation should be doing. Like I said, they should be focused on leaving behind a legacy that is honorable, ethical, and laudable. Why wouldn’t you want to do that?

Sure, there’s some people who are just egocentric, but that’s probably not you if you’re listening to this now.

One of the reasons I’m raising this is because I’ve noticed over many years, because I’m reasonably well-informed about the global environmental situation, that I would often feel, kind of like just sense it, that baby boomers would get triggered around this issue.

And I also think they get triggered around the housing issue, because you know, they bought homes decades ago, many of them, when it was peanuts. And for the most part, interest rates were really low. And they also have the wealth reserves to capitalize on situations.

So just in my comings and goings, I’ve noticed that, like I said, these kinds of topics are triggering for boomers in some cases, because they probably feel like they’re being attacked, or maybe part of them feels guilty about it, I’m not sure. But they have to get over that. Honestly, really have to get over that.

You can’t hide from consciousness and you can’t hide from responsibility, especially with Pluto opposing your natal Pluto, which it’s going to be doing for 20 years. So if the baby boomers don’t take the bull by the horn, and be proactive about these kinds of issues, I think their legacy will be in serious question if it’s not already.

So that’s why I’m arguing for them to be proactive, which is also a smart thing from a karmic perspective. You can’t come to the earth, trash the place, and then take off without there being karmic consequences.

And I know that this doesn’t apply to everyone who’s listening to me right now. I know that some of you are mind-blowingly amazing, wonderful and beautiful people, who have been active socially, politically and so forth, working on really good causes for many, many years. And you’ve been, in a lot of ways, feeling like you’ve been screaming into the wind. And I get it. I’ve been experiencing that too.

But as a general rule, this cohort is at that stage in its life cycle, where they have the most amount of responsibility, because they have many years of experience, they’ve had many opportunities, a lot of life experience, they’re in positions of power and influence, or they could be.

And this is just kind of a preventative recommendation that they really stop, think about their legacy, do whatever they can to leave earth a better place than it was when they came here. And especially for the younger generations, that’s probably not their kids, that’s their grandkids or their great-grandkids.

I’m saying this because it’s important, and I’m saying this because it matters, and it’s been on my mind for a while now. And as I’ve said, I can be a bit prophetic, I just sense these kinds of things, and I’m putting it out there because I know there’s a lot of boomers that listen to me.

So I’m hoping that they will do that, en masse, like on a large scale. Just organize, plan, strategize.

Here’s another suggestion. Don’t discount what the younger generations are saying or feeling. They’re not living in the same world that you grew up in, it’s very, very different.

When I was a kid, my father bought a new car every year, and he supported a wife and four kids on one salary, and he was not a millionaire. That isn’t even remotely conceivable anymore. It’s not even something a young person generally would even think about or aspire to, it’s just so far-fetched. It’s not like that. Kids are living at home in their 20s and 30s. So don’t discount what they’re experiencing.

Involve them, go out and talk to them, get them to come to these meetings and tell you what they’re feeling, thinking, and experiencing, what they’re afraid of, why they fear the future, and so forth, and really listen. Listen to what they say and how they’re feeling. Empathize with them, don’t criticize them. I’m not saying they’re all right, but generally, the world is very different.

Plus, there’s the whole environmental crisis I’ve been talking about. That is going to destabilize every sector and aspect of society, from the economy, to housing, to agriculture, everything.

Yes, we had certain threats back in the 1960s. I remember in school being trained to duck and cover, but that was just a possibility. The environmental crisis is happening, guaranteed. It’s going to happen. It’s already starting, but it’s going to get much worse, regardless of anything that we do at this point in time. Even if we stop all emissions today, it’s going to get worse for years to come. There’s an inertia in the system.

So, those are my suggestions, and let me know what you think. And try not to get triggered by this. I’m trying to help, and if you have a problem, the first step is acknowledging the problem and not being in denial about it.

I’ll leave it there for now. Thanks for your time.

Greetings all, Welcome to Aquarian Diary.

I’m your host, John Irving.

It is December 28th, 2023. This was recorded on December 27th.

I recorded another lengthy discussion with Irish Granny Tarot on December 24th. She published it on her channel on December 26th. Many thanks to Helen for having me on her channel again.

This morning I woke with a very peculiar feeling. I always pay attention to how I feel in the mornings because I just have a sense that I’m doing a lot of work in my sleep time. And this feeling was unusual because it really stood in contrast to how I have felt lately.

Obviously I have been very concerned about what’s happening in the world in many respects, and I spend a lot of time reading and analyzing this because I’m really concerned and I’m very curious.

So that has been just the way I have been being for a very long time. I’m always anxious to find out what’s happening, how this is playing out, where we’re going to go, and things like that.

It’s like we’re in a movie, and it’s one of those intense dramas where you never know what’s going to happen next, and you’re kind of waiting to see if there’s going to be some weird plot twist or turn. And recent history, politically and socially, has been very much like that. But that can get a bit exhausting at the same time too. It’s like we’ve been overstimulated.

So the feeling I had this morning was, when I got up, I was like, “I’m done with this. I’m just done with it. It’s over.”

And it really caused me to stop and think, “What does this mean? I can’t just walk away from everything.” But it felt like I had reached a turning point.

And then I reflected on this a little bit. And it’s kind of like we’ve been dealing with a lot of petulant children.

And you know what it’s like when parents hit their limit or they hit their wall, and they just suddenly put their foot down and say, “No, enough. Go to bed, or behave, or eat your vegetables, or that’s it!” You just can’t take anymore.

And in the bigger scheme of things, it’s like, “No, you can’t destroy the global environment because we need it to survive. No, you can’t just impose some weird made-up theocracy on society because that’s wrong and people don’t really want that. No, you can’t destroy the economy. No, you can’t destroy the government. No, you can’t wreak havoc on the environment. No, you can’t steal Ukraine. Just wear a mask, it’s not a big deal, stop whining. No, you can’t undermine democracy. No, you can’t lie. No, you can’t cheat. No, you can’t steal. No, you can’t be a misogynist and treat women like crap.” This has been what we’ve been doing.

I mean, those of us who are more aware or more responsible or more mature, this is what we’ve been dealing with. We’ve got this sort of outbursts or tantrums of infantile petulance that’s been sweeping the globe.

Everyone has just been in this sort of nihilistic mood of like, “Let’s just burn the place down,” as if that’s going to solve the problem.

The rest of us have been kind of going like, “Why are people behaving this way? Why did they think this way? Why are they acting this way? What the hell is driving this? What do we do to fix it? How do we prevent complete calamity?” And so on.

This energy this morning that I had was just kind of like, “No, it’s done. It’s over. Forget it. We’re not doing that. Fasten your seatbelts. Get in your seat.” It’s the frustrated parent who’s hit their limit. That was the vibe.

And then it made me think about this dream I had about the former president, 45, Trump. Because I’ve had dreams with all the recent presidents.

And my dreams are very powerful. My spiritual name relates to dreaming. It’s like my gift or my superpower. I have dreams that can be very prophetic and meaningful.

And I wish I could translate them into film or something because they’re quite spectacular and very vivid and detailed and very realistic. But at the same time, I often have an awareness that I’m dreaming during the dream, so they’re quite lucid.

And there are certain dreams I have where I will wake up right after the dream and I just know that it is very important and significant. And I’ll journal them.

I’ve had dreams with Obama, Trump, and Biden, and they were very symbolic and informative. And I’ve been meaning to do an episode describing these dreams because they really paint a very vivid picture about who these people are. So they’re very psychic.

But anyway, the dream I had about Trump, which occurred years ago, was that I was in this room and it was a big room with a big marble or stone floor.

And there was Trump sitting in a large throne. Big throne. Trump is sitting on this throne on an elevated level. So he’s kind of overlooking this room.

And on the floor in front of him, surrounding him, were a whole bunch of toddlers. I’m talking like two, three-year-old toddlers.

And each toddler is just kind of sitting there and they’re playing with some little blocks or Lego or whatever it is, little objects on the floor. And each toddler is kind of just like doing their own thing, kind of like, you know, they have that sort of semi-dazed look about them. They’re just kind of there observing and kind of like, they sort of have a bit of a spaced out look about them sometimes because they’re just off in some other world.

So here’s Trump sitting in this big throne and in front of him are all these toddlers.

And then there’s me. And I’m looking at this going like, okay, what am I doing here?

And Trump is looking at me sort of like out of the corner of his eye. And I knew what he was thinking. He was thinking, what do I have to offer this guy to basically buy him off? In other words, how could he sort of bribe me so that he would have my allegiance?

And he was scheming in his mind, trying to read me and figure out what can I offer him? What can I give him? How can I pay him off?

And then he proceeded to offer me something, which I can’t really share because it’s very personal. But he had psychically tuned into me to figure out what he could give me that I needed. So it was very transactional.

And for some reason, it was important to him to win me over so that I wouldn’t be critical of him or be some kind of weird threat to him. I’m not sure why, but that was his MO, was basically to buy me off. And I got the impression that that’s how he treats everybody, very transactionally, but using his money or power or influence to win allies.

Now, a lot of people in power will do that. But there’s a lot of people who are just aligned because they share similar values or goals or ambitions. You know, someone like Bernie Sanders wouldn’t align with somebody who was in conflict with his vision of the world or his core values. So there’s certain cases where you can’t necessarily bribe those kinds of people because they’re not just motivated by personal gain.

And that was the dream, basically, was this whole scenario of A) Trump trying to buy me off and B) that he was surrounded by all these infants.

And my takeaway from that was that his base are the infants. They’re just children. That’s a very clear message.

And I think symbolically, they’re just not very advanced. They’re very young.

And to sort of complete the picture, I’ve also had the spiritual experience of having a message from source explaining to me the whole idea of all God’s children. That God loves everyone because they’re all his children, whether they’re right or wrong or misled, regardless of their state of evolution, their consciousness, it doesn’t matter because we’re all God’s children. And some of us are just more mature than others.

So what this dream was showing me was the state of being or level of consciousness of core Trump supporters.

We’ve all gone through countless lifetimes of evolution in many different incarnations. We all started out at the beginning. So there’s no judgment or shame about that.

There’s a mixture of people here on earth who are more evolved and lesser evolved or younger souls and more older souls.

I would assume that probably if you’re listening to me, you’re more towards the older soul end of the spectrum because you’re interested in these kinds of matters and spirituality and figuring out why you’re here.

Whereas somebody who’s a younger soul is still learning about the fundamental aspects of being incarnate and being in the physical realm and exploring materialism and values and things like that and learning about what’s right and wrong. You know, these are like fundamental lessons. We all have to go through those early stages like kindergarten and elementary school, junior high, high school, college, university, whatever.

So getting back to where I started, which is this energy of like, no, get in your chair, you know, no, go to bed, no, behave, whatever it is.

It made me think, because I kind of have a really good sense of where things are at. It shows in my astrology too. I’m kind of quite tapped into the collective consciousness and I’m also a bit of a precursor. I also can see things coming before they actually manifest. I’ll just start thinking about things or I’ll start reading about things and then it’ll show up in fairly short order.

I’m a little ahead of the curve and it made me think that that’s part of the shift of energy I’ve been talking about in recent episodes. I talked about Pluto at 29 degrees of Capricorn. Again Jupiter goes direct at the end of this month. Mercury goes direct on the first and then the big shift of Pluto into Aquarius on January 20th, which is really big.

I think that’s kind of the vibe that is emerging or that is about to emerge is just that people are going to go like, okay, enough of this BS. We have to act like adults. People are just going to tune out all the BS and just say, okay, what are we going to do? How do we fix this? Let’s move forward.

Let’s stop devoting so much attention to the infants, the petulant infants who have been driving us crazy and distracting us for years. We’re just going to put our foot down and say enough. We’re not doing that anymore. Like the adults sort of take charge. That’s the vibe I had this morning.

Now the reason I’m explaining all this is because this shift in energy that I felt this morning was really different, significantly different than the vibe that we’ve been in recently. It was very striking because it just felt so different.

I mean, we’ve kind of been in that vibe that I’ve been talking about since, I don’t know, 2015, 2016. It’s been really intense of like, oh my God, look, everything’s going crazy. It’s going haywire. People are going crazy.

All the culture war stuff, all the politics, all the social disruption and the bad behavior and dealing with people’s outbursts on almost a daily basis.

You know, there’s like really serious things we need to attend to. But then the news cycle is dominated by all of these outbursts and outrageous things that people have been saying and doing that just distract us and draw our attention away from all the bigger, more important things. And it goes on like that.

It’s like every day, for example, Trump will say something that is completely ridiculous and outrageous, and then the media will spend days commenting on that until the next thing happens and it goes on and on and on.

And there’s another prominent tech billionaire who owns a social media company that’s been doing the same kind of infantile things as well.

We’ve essentially allowed ourselves to be trolled on a mass level.

And it’s not just the people at the top. It’s all of their followers and sycophants as well. It’s just been mayhem.

But maybe that’s about to end because people are just fed up with it. That’s the thing. That’s the whole thing.

We’re reaching a point where we are just fed up and the adults need to put their foot down and step up and take control of the situation because we’re adults.

You don’t let infants run the show. It’s a recipe for disaster and chaos, which is exactly what we’ve been experiencing. Chaos. And I think it may be possible that that’s about to end.

So if I’m right, that’s great because that’s exactly what we need to do.

Somehow we have allowed ourselves to get sucked into this mayhem and anarchy. You know, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Enough.

And again, this shift of Pluto into Aquarius that’s coming up in a few weeks, maybe that’s what will happen.

So I thought I’d share that with you because I think it’s really interesting. It was very striking. Like it just felt like a totally different energy. Like something has just ended or it’s about to end.

That we ourselves kind of like didn’t really fully understand how immersed in that whole way of being that we have been. We ourselves got sucked into that vortex.

Let’s face it. Anyone that doesn’t appreciate or value empathy or compassion is by definition spiritually immature. That’s just a fact.

And that’s what we’ve been learning about the people in power is that they’re fundamentally immature. And we just have to accept that and do something about it because we’re the adults. We have to take responsibility.

Again, for more detail, check the episode description for other episodes or articles that are related or that I mentioned.
