Why it’s been so hard for Sagittarius: 2008-2026

I discuss why the period commencing in 2008 has been particularly astrologically challenging for Sagittarians.

There has been some difficult astrology at play for Sagittarius which winds down beginning in 2025 through 2026.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all, welcome to Aquarian Diary.

I’m your host, John Irving.

It is October 15th, 2024.

Today I want to talk about something that has actually been on my to-do list for a few months and it again came to my mind over the past few days and I thought, “Well, I really should do this.”

It is going to be specifically geared towards Sagittarians and I don’t normally just focus on one sign, but I think in this case it’s warranted.

I’m a Sagittarian myself and what I want to talk about has had a profound effect on me and based on comments from people, it has for others as well, and I thought I would offer my perspective on this and the timeline involved in case that’s helpful to other Sagittarians.

First though, I want to mention that Sunday night, October 13th, I had another wide-ranging discussion with the wonderful Irish Granny Tarot. We talked about all kinds of things. You may find that interesting. It’s almost an hour and 45 minutes long, but if you have time, check it out.

I’ll put a link in the episode description to that. Or you can always find Helen’s channel simply by searching for “Irish Granny Tarot.” She does wonderful work and her content is very educational as well.

Back to the question of what Sagittarians have been going through, and this is not to suggest that other people haven’t been going through extended periods that have been really challenging, but like I said, as a Sagittarian, I can speak to this personally and a lot depends on your own personal natal chart.

That has a big effect as well, of course, but generally, what I will describe here is fairly significant in terms of challenging aspects. As usual, I’ll be putting dates on the screen. If you’re watching this on YouTube, you might want to pay attention to that.

Pluto transit Capricorn, Sagittarius 2nd Solar house, 2008-2024.

The first thing that really came into phase for Sagittarians, and I’m only looking at major multi-year transits here today, was the transit of Pluto through Capricorn, which effectively began in 2008 and is finished on November 19th.

Capricorn is the sign adjacent to Sagittarius, so technically there are no major aspects between the two signs. However, Capricorn is ruled by Saturn and Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter, of course. Sagittarius is fire and Capricorn is earth. Well, you can probably see where this is going.

And Saturn is further out from Jupiter, so it has a more powerful role or seniority in the scheme of things, and the energies of these two planets are extremely different. So, Saturn kind of puts the kibosh on Jupiter. Jupiter is very expansive and considered to be lucky, and Saturn is very constraining and rigid.

And so, while Pluto was in Capricorn, it was emphasizing the energies of that sign, which in many ways kind of conflict with the core fundamental nature of Jupiter and Sagittarius. And again, that was from 2008 right up until November 19th, 2024.

I’ve talked a lot about this before, and I really disliked the energy of Pluto in Capricorn, just because there was a lot of expressions that I found fundamentally ingratiating.

And I knew this before it even happened, that this was going to be a difficult period, but I also knew that I would really enjoy the energies of Pluto in Aquarius, which is what now we’re going to be dealing with all the way through 2044.

So, that’s one thing, and that’s a big thing. I mean, look at what has been going on in the world during this time. It is just crazy and very disturbing in a lot of ways.

Crucially, Capricorn rules the solar second house for Sagittarius. The second house rules our assets and property, our material resources, money, and the things that we value. Pluto transiting the second house can of course wreak havoc on financial affairs, because a lot of things can be destroyed before they get rebuilt.

Generally, what is happening here is that our values, the things that we think are important, are going through a huge purge and transformation. And there’s a lot of destruction with Pluto when it moves through these areas.

Of course, the second house also opposes the eighth, which is another money house. The eighth is more the resources and interactions with other people or outside institutions or agencies, things like banks, people that we borrow money from or who invest in us, that kind of thing, at least on a financial level.

And the second house squares the eleventh and the fifth, social groups and networks, and our sense of creativity and things that deal with children and stuff like that. So clearly, Pluto transiting this part of our chart can manifest as a lot of financial challenges for some people.

Neptune transit Pisces, Sagittarius 4th Solar house, 2011-2026.

Next, Neptune started transiting Pisces in 2011, and that transit ends in 2026.

Now in my own personal experience, Neptune’s squares to the Sun can be extremely challenging. They can really zap your vitality and your energy. And Neptune has this kind of dissolving quality, and the squares, in my experience, can be the most frustrating aspects because there’s really no resolution to these energies.

So when Neptune squares your Sun, for example, it can completely kind of push you down where you have no vitality, very little energy, and many aspects of your identity and reality can kind of dissolve. At the same time, we can have many kind of psychic and intuitive experiences, but we can be very ungrounded and energetically porous.

I have talked a lot about Neptune on my channel, and if you just go to my channel page and search for Neptune, you’ll find those.

I’m not going to reiterate everything I’ve already said, but trust me, Neptune squares to your sun can be extremely difficult. There can be a lot of loss and losses involved during this time. Neptune has a very kind of dematerializing energy about it.

So Neptune in Pisces squared Sagittarius. If you’re early Sagittarius, you went through the hardest aspects of these early on, like back in 2011, 2012. If you’re a later Sagittarius, you’re probably just experiencing that right now or recently.

But this transit of Neptune square the Sun is probably grossly underestimated. For the most part, it’s my impression that people just underestimate how hard of a transit that actually is.

So now we’ve got Pluto in Capricorn, and weve got Neptune squaring Sagittarius, both for many years.

The solar fourth house of Sagittarius is ruled by Pisces. So Neptune transiting the fourth, which also opposes the tenth, which is career vocation status, how we fit into the world, the positions that we’re elevated into, where we have power and authority and are recognized for our contributions.

The fourth house is critically important because it’s foundational. If we don’t have a solid foundation, which is our home, our literal home and our home environment and the people that are in our immediate home environment, those who are really close to us, it also covers our family, either the one we grew up with or the one that we create.

So Neptune, with this kind of dissolving non-materialistic energy, this very spiritual energy, can really dissolve a lot of our foundations. If we don’t have a solid foundation in the world, it’s really hard to do a lot of things. If we don’t feel secure and safe, it’s very hard to go out, for example, and start a business or have a career or whatever. And again, like I said, Neptune in the fourth would be opposing the career house for Sagittarius.

So I already talked about Pluto transiting the second. That’s really hard. That’s a tough transit because in three-dimensional reality, we need material resources and financial security to feel comfortable and safe. And at the same time, we now have Neptune transiting our fourth, which is dissolving our foundations, our safe place, the place where we go at the end of the day and we close the door and we feel secure and safe.

Two very, very challenging things going on there at the same time. That’s a lot.

Saturn transit Pisces, Sagittarius Solar 4th house, 2023-2026.

More recently, Saturn entered Pisces in early 2023 through early 2026. Now there’s some breaks because of retrogrades, but generally 2023-2026.

Saturn square your Sun is also a very challenging aspect. This is where we can feel blocked as if forces outside of ourselves are constraining or limiting us that we can’t move forward or we’re stuck or we have to deal with very pragmatic mundane things that are constantly stopping us from doing what we want to do. It’s an extremely frustrating aspect.

So again, depending on what degree in Sagittarius your Sun is, will affect when these energies are most intense. You definitely will feel this within a two degree orb and probably even five degrees or more. However, to some extent, the whole time that Saturn is in Pisces, the energies are squaring the sign of Sagittarius. Saturn transiting the fourth can really bring a lot of attention and focus on to issues that deal with our home and home environment and our foundations as I talked about with Neptune transiting the fourth.

So the solar fourth of Sagittarius now has Neptune and Saturn in it and Saturn is extremely practical and pragmatic. You can think of it as tough love and it can represent as challenges or things that we have to get really real about and put a lot of effort into that pertain to our home or home environment.

And if they’re not on a solid foundation, Saturn will make us very clearly aware of that. And this isn’t necessarily pleasant because Saturn is not about fun. It’s usually about hard work and dedication and concentration and not getting rewards quickly or easily. It takes a lot of time and effort with Saturn and concentration and diligence and so forth. It can be exhausting because we have to keep our nose to the grindstone for a very long time and sometimes we don’t see results for a very long time either.

Chiron transit Pisces, Sagittarius Solar 4th house, 2010-2019.

Also, Chiron transited Pisces from 2010 through 2019, give or take because of retrogrades. That also can be kind of a challenging aspect.

So Chiron would have squared Sagittarius Sun at some point during that period and those energies are square the whole time really to a degree between Pisces and Sag.

And this can force us to confront or deal with some of our wounding often that occurred in formative years or even past lives. And Chiron transits can be quite hard because often in my experience, reality or our daily experiences or interactions will either trigger or mirror our wounding to us. And we can feel helpless or victimized or sad or experience grief and things like that, often justifiably and also inadequacy. But still, it can be kind of a challenging emotional experience to go through. It’s never pleasant to muck around with our core wounding, but that’s what Chiron tends to do.

Chiron transiting the fourth can bring up issues relating to our wounding around our family. So a lot of family dynamics and issues and things that we’ve swept under the rug or glossed over or shadow work that we need to do around those kinds of themes can be brought to our attention in uncomfortable ways.

Chiron will, like I said, either trigger us or mirror things to us that reflect and make us aware of our wounding. And let’s face it, we’d rather probably not do that most of the time, even if it is beneficial and essential. It’s not necessarily pleasant and it’s not necessarily pleasant to feel like you’re a victim either, which is also kind of a hallmark of Chiron transits.

So you have to remember all of these things are going on simultaneously and they layer on top of each other. So there were certain times during this decade or more period where there was multiple challenges going on to the sign of Sagittarius.

So when we layer on all these things together, and I’m not touching on everything because this is a long period of time, I just want to give people a general sense of when this started and when it ends.

Pluto sextile, as well as Neptune and Saturn trine Sagittarius 2023-2039.

We can see that Pluto is moving into Aquarius, which will sextile Sagittarius. So that’s more of a positive energy for transformation and change in an easier way. We have to activate the sextile. We have to actually take action and do things to manifest those benefits, but that’s not a problem.

And then we can see that by early 2026, Neptune and Saturn have moved into Aries, which actually is a trine to the sign of Sagittarius. The trine is the easiest, most positive aspect. So we go from these very challenging squares to a very positive trine. So again, there’s retrogrades involved here.

So there’s periods where we get a break from this, but fundamentally, transformations should be in a much stronger, easier, more positive and beneficial energetic situation come early 2026.

You might have some other positive transits along the way that counteract some of these challenging ones. So it’s not all constant or steady. It fluctuates. And that again, depends on your own natal chart.

But I have a natural chart. I have an Aries ascendant. So these kinds of transits are kind of amplified for me and I can speak therefore in broad terms.

And I also pay a lot of attention to my own energetic state. So I’m quite aware and on top of these kinds of things, I can feel the shift of energies often from one sign to the next as planets transition and stuff. And I pay a lot of attention to it and I journal a lot. So I’m kind of on top of this.

So I want to give you that sense of why this period has been so challenging for a lot of Sagittarians, because we’re generally by nature, a very optimistic, expansive, kind of jubilant, hopeful people. But we have been being challenged now for many years by some of these transits. And I can get to the point where you just assume that that’s how things are. But what I’m suggesting is that this is a phase that will be winding down over the next year and a half or so.

I don’t happen to have a lot of Gemini’s that I’m closely involved with these days, but Saturn and Neptune in Pisces also squares Gemini. Gemini doesn’t have the same issue with Capricorn that Sagittarians do. So I can’t speak for Gemini, but some of what I’m saying may apply to them, although it may have commenced more in the 2011 timeframe.

And then of course, Pisces opposes Virgo. So Saturn and Neptune in Pisces will have presented challenges to Virgo as well. So basically all of the mutable signs, including Pisces have to some extent been challenged by some of these major transits.

Uranus transit Taurus, Sagittarius 6th Solar house, 2018-2026.

Now one final thing. Uranus has been transiting Taurus since 2018 and finishes transiting Taurus in April of 2026.

This is the solar sixth house for Sagittarius and the sixth deals with our work and routines and daily habits, but it also deals with health and being of service. And sometimes being of service means that we put others needs ahead of our own and we don’t necessarily get any immediate personal gratification from it. It’s more like a selfless service energy where we have to sacrifice our own ego and desires to serve or to play a role for others.

So Uranus transiting this house can raise all kinds of issues around our work habits and routine and change them and introduce elements that are uncomfortable or unfamiliar to us can also raise health issues. And we can find ourselves in weird situations where we feel like we’re just sacrificing ourselves all the time.

The sixth house has a quality of breaking down the ego, which is not too bad in small quantities, but if it goes on for a very long time, it can feel exhausting. Anybody who works in healthcare, for example, is very much aware of this.

Uranus transit Gemini, Sagittarius 7th Solar house, 2025-2033.

Uranus is then going to transit Gemini from 2025 until 2033 and Gemini opposes Sagittarius.

So during this time, 2025 to 2023, Sagittarians are going to be opposed by Uranus and that can manifest as very sudden and dramatic shifts or changes in your life or your life experience or your life circumstances that are virtually unpredictable. We can never foresee precisely what changes Uranus is going to bring about.

But the benefit to this is that if you’ve been in a situation where you feel stuck or things have become stagnant for a long time, which a lot of people experience, Uranus can really shake things up and break them, which results in you gaining more freedom. Even though these events can sometimes be quite dramatic and even sometimes a bit traumatic, the benefit is that you get liberated.

Or maybe you’ve been repressing certain feelings or desires or needs and you won’t be able to repress those energies any longer when Uranus opposes your Sun, for example. You will need to express your own unique identity and liberate yourself from anything that is confining, restricting, habitual, but not beneficial, that kind of thing.

So again, it depends on the degree of your Sun. Obviously, early Sag Suns are going to be opposed by Uranus in the early stages of this transit and later Sagittarians later on. That has to be calculated. That’s why people consult astrologers like me and you can book an appointment if you wish.

But I can assure you that that whole time period will bring about very major changes for Sagittarians. They don’t always have to be negative. They can be positive, but one thing is for sure, change will be in the cards.

When Uranus transits Gemini, that is Sagittarius’ seventh solar house. The seventh deals with our important significant relationships. Typically, it is those that we are partnered with romantically. So it would be like your wife or a girlfriend or boyfriend or husband, somebody that you are committed to usually. It’s usually an exclusive kind of energy and it’s usually a serious relationship as opposed to one that is more lighthearted.

And when Uranus goes through the seventh, it can really shake things up in the relationship department. You can sometimes end up with people who are very different from you that you wouldn’t normally be attracted to or involved with, or it can completely shake things up with committed relationships and end those that no longer serve you or that are holding you back or that have become stagnant or pointless or meaningless.

And for those who are familiar or comfortable with having really stable, predictable relationships, this can be a hard transit. If somebody is in a relationship that has dragged on for a long time, that has lost meaning and reward, often when Uranus transits the seventh, that relationship will end.

And the other side of the coin, like I said, is that we can enter into situations or kinds of relationships that are very different or unusual from what we’re familiar with. Like it could be somebody that’s just very different from you, or it could even be the nature of the relationship is very weird. Or it could just be somebody who’s very culturally different from you and what you’re familiar with.

Uranus likes to have a lot of freedom. It doesn’t like to be constrained or limited. So sometimes even when Uranus goes through the seventh, people can explore things like polyamory or something like that, or open relationships where they have multiple different people that they’re connected to. I’m not saying that’s typical. I’m just using that as an example.

Don’t necessarily expect that, but Sag is going to go through an extended period where the relationship part of their life, if they have one, is going to probably be unusual or different from what they’re familiar with.

And of course, like I’ve already said, the seventh opposes the first. So Uranus is opposing the Sun of Sagittarius and squaring the 10th and the fourth.

So by this point, we’ve got away from Pluto in the second, Neptune and Saturn in the fourth, and Chiron in the fourth. And now the emphasis in terms of a lot of fairly radical change is going to shift to the seventh, as I have just described.

But at the same time, we will be having Saturn and Neptune trining our Suns. And Saturn can strengthen and solidify things, and Neptune can be extremely inspiring and enlightening. And if you’re a spiritual person, Neptune trine Sun can be phenomenal. So I’m actually very much looking forward to that.

I’m an early Sag. Even when Neptune is at the late degrees of Pisces, it will still be forming a trine to my Sun within a reasonably tight orb. Actually, I already felt it a bit in 2024, and it was wonderful.

Plus, like I said, Pluto in Aquarius is sextiling Sagittarius, and Aquarius is an air sign, Sag is fire, so these energies are compatible. And the sextile is a very supportive aspect, and this speaks to positive regeneration and empowerment and upliftment, positive expression of power, if used wisely.

I know this is a lot to try and absorb all at once, especially if you’re a novice or casually interested in astrology. And this is one of the reasons why, for me, to take on producing an episode like this is not a trivial thing, because it’s very multi-dimensional and there’s a lot of moving parts. Often if you follow astrology, people will tend to focus on one thing at a time, whereas in reality it’s very holistic.

Plus, as I’ve said, a lot depends on your own natal chart, which introduces a whole bunch of other dimensions to this as well. So it’s not as clear-cut or simple as is often presented. It’s way deeper.

So again, if you want to look at this from a more detailed perspective, consider booking an appointment and I can go through some of these things for you with more precision, taking into account your Ascendant, your Midheaven, your other planetary positions, and so forth. I’m speaking here, of course, in very general terms.

But there you go, that’s just kind of like a quick overview of why, if you’re a Sag and you’ve felt challenged for a long time, this might explain some of it. And again, there’s a lot more detail in the dates, in the graphics that you’ll see on this screen. So you might want to watch this again, make notes, that kind of thing.

Once again, you’ll find the link to the discussion I had with Irish Granny in the episode description, and I hope you found this helpful.

For more detail, check the episode description for other episodes or articles that are related or that I mentioned. And if you’re interested in a reading with me, I’ll put a link to that as well. I have a 15% off special on currently.

Many sincere thanks to everyone who supports me, especially my YouTube members and astrology clients. Thank you very much.

Take care, all the best, and I’ll talk to you again soon.

Bye for now.

Getting Along With Saturn – Astrology

I discuss how to get along with Saturn in astrology. I describe what to avoid and how to conduct yourself to minimize the most challenging manifestations of a hard Saturn transit or difficult natal Saturn placement.

In my view this is very simple and mostly requires good old – but strikingly rare these days – common sense.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all, Welcome to Aquarian Diary.

I’m your host, John Irving.

It is April 8th, 2023.

People who study astrology or their astrology charts often fear the planet Saturn.

Historically, it was even referred to as the Devil. It is also referred to as the planet of Karma, Duty and Responsibility.

However, as I frequently state when I do readings, in my opinion, Saturn is one of the easiest planets to understand. Its rules and boundaries are quite clear and quite simple, often much more simple than most people think.

This is not going to be a lengthy discourse about Saturn. I simply want to address how to work with it or make friends with it so we can minimize the challenging expression of it by transit or natally.

As I said, Saturn’s rules are very simple.

They go something like this – Be Responsible, Be Pragmatic, Be Realistic, Be Honest, and Be in Integrity.

Generally, if you follow those rules or guidelines, you can kind of breeze through Saturn transits relatively easily.

I’m not saying they’re not challenging, I’m just saying that you won’t experience the harder expressions of Saturn.

So, some practical examples.

If someone is living beyond their financial means and then up comes a hard Saturn transit, say Saturn squaring your Sun or Saturn squaring your Venus or something, or Saturn transiting your second house, you may experience some restrictions or limitations, but you can still get through.

If Saturn is transiting your seventh house of close personal relationships and you’re in a significant relationship, the relationship can go through kind of a testing period, but if the relationship is fundamentally sound and good, it will survive and probably even become stronger as a result.

If the relationship is based on some kind of superficial values and you’re making a lot of compromises within it, it might be severely tested, because Saturn is about reality, not wishful thinking.

The question is always, “Is it real or not?” Are you being sincere and responsible and mature?

So I’m getting chills right now because I’ve recently been going through some Saturn transits that I was a bit nervous about, but I’ve actually found that I have been expressing the positive expressions of Saturn and Saturn hasn’t had a lot to complain about with me lately.

So the positive expression of it is that it helps us refine and purify our aims or ambitions or circumstances, it can help us separate the wheat from the chaff, become more focused, become more real, and so forth. It’s all about helping us determine what’s real versus what’s illusory, which is a good thing.

So in a positive expression, it helps us solidify and strengthen and build solid foundations. As the Lord of Time, Saturn can help create structures in our life that are very long-lasting and durable. This is good! It’s contrary to what a lot of people think.

So yes, when Saturn comes along and challenges us in some aspect of our life, it will test us. So ideally, you’ve been orienting yourself in advance of this to make sure that what you’re engaged in is real and sincere, ethical, and so on.

Another example, if somebody was involved in criminal activity and then Saturn, being the authority figure, comes along and says, “No, you’re not going to get away with this because it’s unethical, you’re breaking the law” or whatever. It’s likely that you’re going to, in some way, be held accountable for your actions.

If our solar system didn’t have Saturn, in my opinion, Earth would be completely chaotic and it would be anarchy here. We need to have rules and laws because a lot of people are irresponsible and do things to other people that are misleading and harmful and so on, and Saturn keeps us accountable.

So it’s really easy to understand on a pragmatic level, like when it comes to just living our lives and being responsible members of society.

On the more spiritual dimensions, it can be about concentration and focus and purification.

So for example, if we have beliefs that are based on illusions, Saturn can help us clarify those beliefs and question their assumptions to make sure they are foundationally accurate.

On the spiritual level as well, Saturn transits can help us focus. So it may mean, for example, a period of time if Saturn is transiting your 12th, if your 12th house is Pisces right now, it can be an excellent time to be very rigorous, concentrated and dedicated to your spiritual practice.

And yes, I personally believe that dedicating time in a disciplined way to our spiritual practice is very important. We put a lot of energy into all kinds of activities in our lives and if spirituality is important to us, it deserves attention as well. At least some time.

For a lot of people, it’s only a few minutes a day. There’s 24 hours in a day. How much time are you devoting to your spiritual practice and what rewards will you reap?

Saturn tends not to give rewards easily. Discipline and diligence is required and it tends not to give rewards immediately. It takes time, but the rewards that you do get can be very solid and long-lasting.

Think of the churches that they built centuries ago, or even in medieval times. Some of these churches would take several generations of activity to construct, but they last for centuries, if not potentially millennia. Fantastic.

You know, our society now is very much geared to immediate gratification and we have this kind of disposable mentality where we are constantly consuming things that we just dispose of. That’s not very Saturnian. And of course, it has consequences for our environment.

Saturn is about quality and mastery. And mastery is about being responsible for yourself on every dimension of your being, from the pragmatic and material to the energetic.

So it’s really just about common sense when dealing with Saturn. Not being in denial, being accountable, being responsible, being diligent, being able to focus and concentrate, being able to determine what is superficial and what is not.

Saturn is not about superficiality. It’s about patience, diligence, and things like that.

Karma, of course, and karma is closely related to personal responsibility. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you, as I often say.

So there should be nothing to fear with Saturn if we are conducting our lives with integrity and honor. Saturn does not like shortcuts.

So my advice to you is to follow those principles and the sooner you start the better.

Another example, somebody who lives very lavishly and has very high expenses and overhead, that might be fine until something happens and their income is impacted severely or diminished. And then suddenly they find themselves in a great deal of trouble because they have a very high overhead, which could result in even something like bankruptcy. It can get quite extreme.

Whereas someone who lives more modestly and has savings and so forth, again very pragmatic, can easily weather a period of a year or two or three where their income isn’t as much as they thought it might be. They will kind of breeze through these periods of ups and downs because it’s not very realistic to expect that you’re always going to be making huge amounts of money.

Even the very wealthy can go through periods that are challenging. It could be something like a recession that they have no control over.

It’s very simple common sense really.

The degree to which Saturn will test you often pertains to your own particular astrology. Some people naturally get along with Saturn. That’s just because of the way they are.

And then other people who are less kind of grounded typically have more problems with Saturn.

Again there’s a lot of variables. It depends on your chart. But just bear that in mind.

Like I have met and known people who get through hard Saturn transits really easily. And I have known others who go through some very challenging times under Saturn transits.

My main point here was simply to illustrate that it’s really easy to understand Saturn. It’s not complicated at all and I think a lot of people overthink it.

Neptune by contrast in my opinion is a much more complicated planet to understand because it can manifest on so many different levels and in so many different ways. It can be extremely problematic or it can be extremely creative and spiritual.

There is a wide variety of expressions that have to be considered and a lot of it depends on the native in question.

Saturn can also play a role in helping us be an authority figure. It can create circumstances where certain people can become very authoritative in various areas again depending on your chart for those who are disciplined and who have put in the work.

Recently Saturn began transiting Pisces on March 7th of 2023 all the way through 2026. So roughly three years. And I did a whole episode about that which I will also put in the description. And I titled that “Reality Check” because some expressions of Pisces can be a bit illusory and ungrounded. And Saturn wants us to be grounded and to deal with reality.

So like I’ve said in that episode I find it kind of funny what’s happening right now politically and socially because to me much of that are expressions of Saturn transiting Pisces. See that episode. I think you might find it a bit entertaining.

You can kind of see that I don’t have a hard time with Saturn because where would we be if people were completely detached from reality all the time as many people definitely are.

And I think that combined with the transit of Pluto in Aquarius and Saturn transiting Pisces we’re definitely going through a period of reality check, thank God, because a lot of people are completely detached from reality and it creates many problems as we are seeing.

But Saturn does bring accountability and order and even justice which we all want and desire. This is not a bad thing.

It’s funny I’m pretty sure I’ve not laughed as much when I was recording an episode as I am about Saturn which many people perceive as being dark. So I have made friends with Saturn and I encourage you to do the same thing. You will avoid a lot of BS if you do. Nobody really wants BS.

You know Saturn is the law and we need laws obviously because there are a lot of unscrupulous people out there and they need to be kept in check. And if we follow the rules we can avoid a lot of unnecessary drama and blowback and consequences that will demand huge amounts of time and energy on our part to correct. And we don’t want to waste time. Saturn the Lord of time.

And again Saturn is not about superficiality. If Saturn takes something out of our life it may be because it’s not real or it’s not grounded or it’s not based on truth. Sometimes we may not realize that until later on. It can take time.

I’m someone who actually really disdains ill placed superficiality. You know people who judge us. Do you really want fair weather friends? People who are just associated with you for superficial reasons or who judge you based on superficial reasons like your appearance or your habits. Something that they find objectionable.

They’re not actually connecting to the core aspect of you. They’re just attaching to you for superficial reasons. Or it’s transactional or conditional.

No you probably don’t want that. Because when you do go through some challenging experience they will be the first ones to leave. And the people who are still there with you in the end are your real friends. That’s an example of how Saturn can prune your social contacts. It may be disheartening at the time but later on you will realize that they weren’t really your friends to begin with.

Often younger people have a harder time with Saturn because they haven’t fully matured. As we get older we tend to be more in harmony with Saturn because we’ve had a lot of life experiences so we know these kinds of things from intimate and direct personal experience.

In fact people with strong challenging Saturnian aspects in their natal chart, say for example Saturn near the Ascendant, may have to grow up very quickly and have a lot of responsibility and maybe not as much fun and being carefree as others when they are young. But as they get older they actually start to become and express a more youthful outlook and attitude because Saturn kind of reverses the process. They start out being very mature and responsible and later on in life they almost become younger in their expression.

Again I don’t want this to be a really lengthy discourse on Saturn because it would just be too long. I just want to paint a picture for people to understand. And especially like I said younger people in particular I feel a bit more compassionate towards about this because we don’t really fully mature in my opinion until probably in our 40’s or so, if not even our second Saturn return. So the first Saturn return at 28 or 29 is when we begin to become serious and more responsible about life generally.

Anyway I hope this is helpful. It’s come up a lot for me lately because I’ve been doing a lot of readings and I thought I would share this with you as it might be helpful.

Thanks everyone for all your support.

I am organizing the spiritual evolution workshop or classes that I mentioned in my prior episode. That’s going great. I’m very excited about that. I’ll put a link to that in the description below.

If you’re interested in a reading I’ll also put a link to that in the description.

Take care, all the best and we’ll talk to you again soon.

Saturn, Chiron, Collective Trauma and Darkness

I discuss why we need to more openly address our individual and collective wounding, and to do so courageously, in order to free us from cycles of trauma.

I present this through the lens of the astrology of Saturn, Chiron and Pisces or the 12th house, and dark psychic or occult experiences.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all, welcome to Aquarian Diary.

I’m your host, John Irving.

It is January 28th, 2024.

What I’m going to talk about here today may seem a little bit out of left field.

I actually have a long list of really interesting topics I want to publish. I’ve gotten a lot of downloads recently, many of which are really interesting.

Especially in the last half of 2023, I had a lot of challenging Saturn transits. A whole slew of them. And Saturn is transiting my 12th house, which in and of itself is rather challenging. So it’s been very hard and very interesting at the same time.

Now one of those transits that has been going on has been transiting Saturn conjuncting my natal Chiron. Natal Chiron in Pisces in the 12th. If you’re a student of astrology, you’ll have a sense of what that’s about.

This is an underrated transit in terms of its effects. This is very much a kind of “woe is me” period and it can be very emotionally debilitating. And it can feel like the world is against you.

This only happens every 28 or 29 years. So it’s not common.

Chiron represents our core wounding, whether we are aware of it or not. This wounding is often associated with traumas that occurred in our formative years, typically with family, who we also have a lot of karma with. But it also deals with past life traumas and wounding. It’s a wound that we can never get rid of, but that we can heal.

And as one matures and we have mastered that wounding, there’s the potential for us to help others who have suffered similar wounding, to become the wounded healer. That’s a real nutshell explanation.

One of the things about our core wounding is that we tend not to want to look at it because it is too provocative or triggering. Most of us prefer to have pleasant experiences. Of course. Why would we want to suffer?

And yet, if we don’t confront our wounding, it will victimize us and limit our potential. And it’ll keep getting triggered and showing up in all kinds of weird ways.

And the less conscious we are of our wounding, the less we have mastered it, the more vulnerable we are to it disrupting our life and our potential.

So ultimately, if we want to ascend, we have to confront our wounding or do our shadow work, however you want to phrase it. It’s absolutely critical.

I’ve had that experience many times where I have been cruising along thinking everything is great and then something will trigger me and it will throw me off course.

When Saturn makes aspects to Chiron, it demands that we approach our wounding in a very realistic, practical and mature way. Saturn does not let us off the hook.

Now I’m not young, so I have had this transit occur before.

When Saturn conjuncts your Chiron, it’s not pleasant because a lot of your wounding will be triggered and brought into your conscious awareness. And like I said, most of us don’t like to focus on these kinds of things.

It’s not fun. It’s difficult. It’s threatening. It’s disturbing. It’s uncomfortable. Who wants to be weak and vulnerable?

That’s the core of this experience, is recognizing your weakness and your vulnerability.

But then the question is, what do you do about it?

If you’re more mature, and I am at least by age, then you confront your wounding and your weaknesses and your vulnerabilities honestly and directly. The more confident and fearless you are about doing that, the more you will get done.

Now the 12th house, where this is occurring for me, can deal with a lot of the non-material aspects of reality.

So this can be like tapping into the collective trauma or wounding of society and reality. And there’s a lot of darkness there. There’s a lot of fear. There’s a lot of trauma.

Why am I explaining all this?

Because it’s drawn to my awareness how our society tends to avoid dealing with or confronting or even acknowledging these kinds of matters.

Take for example how we deal with things like homelessness. Right now there are people on the streets who at some point in the past had a family, a career, a three-bedroom home in the suburbs, and then they find themselves in circumstances where they lose everything and they have no choice but to live on the streets.

It could be because, for example, they couldn’t pay medical bills or they got bankrupted because of a health condition or something like that. Or maybe they had psychological problems or drug addiction or whatever it was.

And then our culture in many ways just kind of pretends that this isn’t actually happening, that that can’t happen to me, which is one of the ways that this gets perpetuated – this cycle – because nobody wants to think that that could happen to them.

Or we victim blame, which is a very low consciousness projection.

But my whole point is that at some point a lot of these people were just like us, and then they find themselves in these extremely challenging, difficult, and uncomfortable situations. And we as a society kind of sweep them under the rug, if not criminalize them.

And this is a very profound disservice and injustice to these people. It’s like kicking them when they’re down. It’s horrible.

These are the most vulnerable people in our society. And the true measure of our society is how we treat our most vulnerable people. If we do not treat them with respect and compassion, we are not an evolved society, regardless of what anyone says.

There are many seniors right now who retired thinking that they had enough money to survive through their retirement years. And because of inflation and higher interest rates, the skyrocketing cost of housing and health care, they’re finding that they’re not prepared in a way they thought they were. So these people, in fact, are now becoming vulnerable and marginalized as well. Many of them.

But this also occurs on the spiritual dimensions, where people who have experiences with dark psychic phenomenon are marginalized, rejected, or ostracized.

We portray these kinds of things a lot in film, think the horror genre. And people are fascinated by this, of course.

But in reality, people who experience these kinds of things can’t talk about it because they will be perceived as being crazy or threatened with being locked up in an institution.

Some people are mentally unstable. Let’s be clear about that. But not everyone.

And I myself have had many, many encounters with the darker aspects of reality for whatever reason going back to my childhood. And I have personally taken measures over the years to protect myself from those kinds of situations. I think it’s just simply because I’m psychically open or wired in a lot of ways that allows me to be able to perceive these kinds of things.

So what I’m saying is that sometimes these things are real.

I’m explaining all this because there needs to be a place for people who experience these kinds of things to be able to share those experiences and learn how to manage them without fear of being ostracized or stigmatized.

In fact, the worst thing that can happen here is that these people get increasingly isolated. You do not want to be in a state of fear when you are confronting these kinds of energies. It makes you more vulnerable.

My point is that people these days are more open about psychic phenomenon. This is something that we can’t explain scientifically or completely rationally. The majority of people are in complete denial about this kind of stuff.

Let’s face it, in the not too distant past, if not still to this day, people who experienced these kinds of things would have been thrown into mental institutions if not burned at the stake. That’s how bad it is.

People who are prone to these kinds of things need to learn ways of dealing with them that are constructive and positive. And that is possible. But it’s not likely to occur if our society just completely rejects the reality of this.

I am not in any way condoning darkness or the deliberate pursuit of it at all. I myself have made a solemn oath to be aligned with the path of light and truth. I am unwaveringly committed to that path, period.

However, we are not being of service to our brothers and our sisters if we deny their experiences and stigmatize them.

Now some people are having these kinds of experiences for karmic reasons, but even that can be addressed.

So I’m sharing this today, rather unexpectedly, because it came up for me very clearly and I had some insights into this that I wanted to share with you. It’s an uncomfortable topic, but it’s something that ultimately our society will need to confront in a constructive, compassionate way.

We are all members of the human family, and it behooves us, for all of us, to be uplifted and healed.

There is collective karma and trauma that humanity has to resolve or it will continue to occur, and the vast majority of us do not want to continue experiencing collective trauma, whether it’s through war or on the psychic levels.

Part of our collective upliftment in the Aquarian age will be for those who have the courage and the fortitude and the wisdom to help humanity to constructively move forward on these levels. So we have to help anyone in need, and I have made the point here before that we need to help our most vulnerable people.

Pretending that they don’t exist or that their reality is invalid is choosing ignorance and its folly.

In the episode description, I will link to some other episodes I have published that are related to this theme.

Saturn transit Pisces – Reality Check: 2023-2026

I discuss the astrology of the transit of the planet Saturn through the sign of Pisces, which occurs between March of 2023 and early 2026.

This is a transcript of an episode of Aquarian Diary I published on February 10, 2023.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all, it is February 10, 2023.

Saturn has been transiting Aquarius roughly from 2020 through 2023. On March 7 of 2023, Saturn will commence transiting Pisces through early 2026.

If you’re watching this on YouTube, you can find dates on the screen.

This is a significant shift of energies for a variety of reasons, and this shift will occur roughly around the timeframe of Pluto beginning its transit of Aquarius, which I have talked a lot about in other episodes.

Let’s concentrate here on how Saturn transiting Pisces might affect us and the world.

Saturn deals with reality, responsibility, and karma. It is the opposite of rose-colored glasses. Often under hard or challenging Saturn transits we are forced to confront reality as it is versus how we would prefer or like it to be.

So, for example, if we have overextended ourselves financially, we may find ourselves in situations where we have to deal with that reality very pragmatically.

Saturn does not let us off the hook easily. It does not let us escape our responsibilities or duties or obligations based on wishful thinking or avoidance, and it holds us and others accountable for their actions, and that is why Saturn is considered to be very karmic.

Someone engaged in dishonorable or unethical activities may not find this influence pleasant. Think of Saturn like a judge. But it can reward those who have accepted their duties and responsibilities and acted admirably and with integrity. It can give them more power, influence or authority.

Pisces, where Saturn will be commencing its transit, is a very non-material energy. The negative expression of that energy can be illusion, delusion, fantasy, escapism, using things like drugs and alcohol to escape reality, avoiding responsibility.

Traditionally the 12th house, which Pisces rules, was considered the house of self-undoing. In Pisces there can be issues with boundaries, because Pisces doesn’t really have boundaries. And that lack of boundaries can create conditions where webs of lies and deceit can occur, even on a grand scale. Mass deception, mass delusion, mass fantasy.

I don’t mean to suggest that Pisces is inherently dark, it is not, quite the opposite. It is just very ethereal, and if not grounded, can result in the kind of things I’ve been talking about. So being grounded is a challenge for Pisces. And there are many people who have no qualms about taking advantage of that kind of influence to manipulate other people for their own benefit.

The positive expression of it can be tapping into the non-material dimensions of realities, spirituality, and those kinds of experiences. And it can also be a very creative energy because we can channel higher dimensional energy into the material realm. Many notable performers and entertainers, for example, have Piscean influences because they are able to tap into the collective unconscious and express and reflect that back to humanity. Thus their work can resonate with many people simultaneously, on a mass level. Whether what they reflect is real or not is a different question.

Pisces also has kind of a dissolving quality, where arbitrary and outmoded structures can simply collapse due to the influx of all this non-material energy. People think that reality is very hard and fixed, when in fact viewed from higher dimensions, it is rather a physical manifestation of non-material consciousness.

Pisces can also be very compassionate and empathic, and it is very frequently associated with things like psychic, intuitive and spiritual phenomenon.

Pisces is also the last sign of the Zodiac, so it’s the sign of endings. Aries, the following sign, is the sign of new beginnings. So everything ends in Pisces, inevitably.

So Saturn, the task master, is going to be entering Pisces. So how will this manifest? What will we experience and what will we witness?

I think this is something we should very much welcome in many ways because it can ground our idealism and our spirituality, make them very tangible and help us sort the wheat from the chaff, what’s real from what isn’t. And I would say the world desperately needs a dose of that. Pisces because it covers things like delusion and insanity, where people are extremely ungrounded and not dealing with reality, in the case of the lower expression of these energies. Saturn should bring a reality check to a lot of things like mass delusion, propaganda, unhinged conspiracy theories, lies and deception, which we have been plagued with, especially for the past decade or so.

I would argue that misinformation, disinformation, and mass delusion are probably one of the most significant features of recent history, and one of the most dangerous, because humanity has to make a lot of very important decisions that will significantly influence us and future generations as well as the planet. we can’t do that on the basis of BS.

If you’ve listened to me before, you will know that I detest lies. And Saturn will help us deal with that.

So I would expect to see commencing in March, which, like I said, also happens to be when Pluto begins its epic transit of Aquarius, that we will see the beginning of a period of reality check.

And that will include, by the way, institutions like the Church or religious organizations because these pursuits fall under the umbrella of Pisces in many ways, as we seek to connect to and understand the divine aspects of our experience.

As Saturn transits Pisces, it will form a challenging square to Sagittarius and Gemini, Sagittarius specifically ruling things like religion and philosophy, and Gemini ruling communication. So it will be challenging in many regards to those kinds of institutions.

The symbol for Pisces is the two fishes. And Pisces has long been associated with Christianity, which has played a very prominent role during the age of Pisces, which is at its final stages now. But Pisces in many ways rules all large religious organizations. And historically when Saturn has transited Pisces, it has represented a challenging period for those institutions. There can be a crisis of faith. As I myself have talked about here before, recent history has raised many questions about what types of movements and people religious groups have aligned themselves with that are often hypocritical based on spiritual values.

Also during this period, Saturn will be opposing Virgo. One of the areas that Virgo covers, or the sixth house which it rules, includes nurses, doctors, and healthcare workers. And we have had many challenges in those areas due to burnout, lack of staffing, chronic underfunding, and so forth. and I would expect that to be a significant issue in the next two or three years.

I think also in the spiritual community and with things like psychics and readers and prominent spiritual leaders or figures, people should be holding themselves to a very high standard to ensure that the quality of the information they’re conveying is accurate and based on truth as much as possible, because Saturn is ruthlessly honest and will hold anyone or anything to account that is not reflecting truth or reality accurately. So I would expect to see a lot of scandals emerge and truth begin to emerge about how institutions and organizations or prominent figures in our cultures have been misleading people, probably deliberately, a lot of secrets will be brought into the open, and we will go through this period of reality check cleansing and karmic reckoning for those who have abused spiritual laws or who have engaged in mass deception, propaganda, disinformation and misinformation. That, to me, is going to be a very good thing. In fact, traditionally, the 12th house, which Pisces rules, was associated with imprisonment and prisons.

You know, Saturn is a very discipline-oriented planet. Personally, I do not have a problem with spiritual discipline. I have engaged in many spiritual activities that require discipline, and I actually enjoy that and find it very rewarding. So this does not concern me at all.

There’s going to be a big reality check, scrutinizing and cross-examination of a lot of our beliefs and whether they are based on truth and reality or not. So Saturn is there to keep us in check and from going off the deep end, which we seem to have done in an epic way in recent years, with the proliferation of BS which I despise, and it will help us deal with that, thankfully. Especially, like I said, coupled with the extremely important transit of Pluto through Aquarius, commencing in just over a month. Very exciting times.

Now let’s take a quick look at how this transit will affect other signs. You’ll need to know where your planets and points are positioned in order to do this, meaning you’ll have to have access to your astrology chart. You may also want to look at the ruler of the 12th house as well as where Neptune and Saturn occur in your chart.

In terms of challenging aspects, Saturn will be squaring the Sagittarius-Gemini axis, and squares can be quite frustrating, and it will be opposing Virgo, and the opposition can also be very challenging. Obviously, Saturn will conjunct any points in Pisces during this time. For more positive effects, Saturn will be trining Scorpio and Cancer, that is a strengthening aspect, and it will sextile Capricorn and Taurus. That is also a strengthening aspect, although it may require a little bit more effort to materialize than the trine, which comes with more ease.

These are just the major or Ptolemaic aspects I am discussing here. Generally, if you have abided by Saturn’s terms, which are integrity and duty, and not cutting corners, it should be easier for you than if you you haven’t, regardless of the transit.

There are far too many factors and variables in a personal astrology chart than I could possibly ever cover here, so it depends entirely on your personal natal chart configuration and what other transits happen to be occurring at the same time. Most of what you will read about or hear online deals with sun sign astrology alone, which is only a small fraction of the actual circumstances that need to be considered. There’s generally some truth to it, of course, but it’s only one piece of the puzzle.

We can say fairly confidently that those people affected by the conjunction, opposition, or squares may face some challenges. Again, that would be Pisces, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Gemini. Between March of this year and February 2026.

Finally, Neptune, the modern ruler of Pisces, governs the collective, unseen forces, and the immune system. It also governs international and foreign affairs, including things like travel. With Saturn transiting and challenging this area, I would not be surprised if the challenges related to global health on a mass scale persist and linger. Saturn demands strict discipline, and many people have been resistant to disciplining themselves out of frustration, ignorance, laziness, gullibility to misinformation, or narcissism.

I want to add here that I find this sort of exercise very challenging and frustrating. And that is because I really dislike things that are superficial, and our world seems to be exceedingly superficial these days. To do this topic justice would require days of work, and I simply do not have that amount of time that I can afford to devote to this at my disposal, unfortunately. There is a lot more that I could have included here and would have liked to.

Be that as it may, I do want to, at the same time, draw people’s attention to this because I think some of the implications are definitely worth being aware of.

Take care, I look forward to your amazing comments as usual, and will talk to you again soon.

The Stunning Transit of Neptune in Aries: 2025-2039

I discuss the astrology and possible implications of the transit of Neptune through Aries which spans 2025 through 2039. This includes a stunning astrological conjunction of Saturn and Neptune near 0 degrees Aries.

I also draw attention to the signs that may be challenged by this transit which are Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.

This is a transcript of an episode of Aquarian Diary I published on February 16, 2023.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all, it is February 16th, 2023.

I have a bit of a cold right now, which is affecting my voice, so apologies for that.

The following is for entertainment purposes only.

Today I will talk about the current transit of Neptune through Pisces and how it may manifest very differently when it enters Aries in early 2025.

Neptune’s orbit is about 165 years, so it spends many years in each of the 12 signs.

Thanks to more advanced telescopes, Neptune was first observed in 1846, just before it entered Pisces the last time.

Traditionally, Jupiter was considered the ruler of Pisces.

Many believe that when a planet is “discovered,” it signifies that humanity is ready to begin to manifest the consciousness represented by that planet. Think about the many social and spiritual advancements that have occurred since Neptune was discovered. We are completing our first collective conscious Neptune cycle and about to begin a new one. I find the timing and implications of that fascinating.

The last time Neptune was in Pisces was between 1847 and 1862. The last time it was in Aries was 1861 through 1875.

You may have noted that the American Civil War occurred between 1861 and 1865 when Neptune was in Aries. The American Civil War started on April 12, 1861. Remarkably, Neptune entered Aries the very following day on April 13 of 1861.

Neptune In Pisces / Aries 1847-1865

We should in no way jump to conclusions about one astrological event alone, as there are a myriad of ever-changing variables to consider. But this correlation is nonetheless dramatic. More on that later.

More recently, Neptune first entered Pisces in April of 2011, and will complete that transit in January of 2026. Neptune will then transit Aries roughly from March of 2025 all the way through March of 2039.

There are transitional phases at the beginning and ending of these transits due to retrogrades, so the cycles often overlap somewhat. We should probably be grateful for this, otherwise it could be quite jarring for these shifts to occur instantaneously. I’m not sure we could cope with that.

Neptune is the modern ruling planet of Pisces and the 12th house in astrology. Mars rules Aries in the first house. Pisces is Mutable water, and Aries is Cardinal fire. These are very different energies. Neptune is very at home in Pisces, where it is now, but it will be much less so in fiery Aries.

The first degree of Aries is a very important point, as it marks significant new beginnings. Therefore, a new 165-year cycle for Neptune will commence during 2025 and 2026, and this is definitely worth paying attention to.

Now let’s consider what these astrological symbols represent. I have discussed some of these previously, so I will just provide a synopsis here. Check my astrology playlist on YouTube to find other episodes where I discuss some of these topics in greater detail.

Note that I am speaking in general terms here. Each person or entity has its own very unique chart which will affect how these energies and archetypes are expressed. Planets, signs and houses are not exactly the same thing even though they can be closely related. Also, I have made many calculations here, and I would not be surprised to later find that my math was off a bit somewhere. If so, I will note it on my errata page.

Neptune’s sign, Pisces, and the 12th house, are associated with the late winter months in the northern hemisphere, time of rest going inwards, rejuvenation, and contemplation. Aries is linked to the spring equinox when night and day are equal lengths. This marks the beginning of a new annual cycle, a period of vigorous growth, rebirth, increasing light and dramatically elevated activity.

All planets and signs have both positive and negative expressions.

Very briefly, positive expressions of Neptune and Pisces are higher or cosmic consciousness and tapping into the spiritual dimensions. Being watery, yin and non-material, it is often associated with esoteric matters such as psychic and intuitive phenomenon, divination and channeling, as well as being empathic, charitable, compassionate and selfless.

It is also connected to the Church or religion as it is where we try and connect to the divine or non-material aspects of human experience. and philosophy are also strongly connected to the ninth house or Sagittarius, as is much of the dogma that is associated with them. Many creative people, such as artists, composers, writers, entertainers, and performers, can channel Piscean or Neptunian energies into creative works. Dreams and dream time can be inspired.

Lower expressions can be being very ungrounded, detached from reality, being prone to deception, self-deception, illusion, delusion, or being overly idealistic and not pragmatic. There can also be a tendency for escapism from harsh reality, which may involve drugs and addictions or even mental illness.

In traditional astrology, the 12th house was associated with imprisonment, seclusion, confinement, undoing, secrets, hidden enemies and foreign lands. In the past people were very fearful of the unknown, and that would include foreign lands. Modern astrology is much less fatalistic, we now often have much more control over our destiny and self-expression than when the lives of the vast majority of the population were severely faded and fixed at birth.

In contrast, the positive expression of Mars, the ruler of Aries, can be taking bold action and initiative, being daring, courageous, being strong, independent, athletic, not shying from competition, and being decisive. This is the kind of energy that gets people up and doing things. Negative expressions of Mars can be being pushy, impulsive, combative, rash, self-centered and inconsiderate, if not rude at times. You do not want to get in the way of the ram’s horns.

Mars, the god of war and warfare, is a very masculine, yang, and fiery energy. Mars often expresses itself in short, intense bursts and is not typically known for stamina. Think sprinter rather than long-distance marathoner. The number of projects started often exceeds the number completed.

Now let’s consider what happens when we put the energies of transiting Neptune into these two signs. Again, for the sake of brevity, this is merely a synopsis. Hefty volumes have been dedicated to these topics.

Neptune, the ruler of Pisces, is very much at home in its own sign. It essentially emphasizes, or amplifies, the characteristics I have already described, both positive and negative.

In recent years we have seen a very significant rise of interest in esoteric and metaphysical subjects such as astrology, tarot, and spirituality. Many people are expressing psychic and intuitive abilities in a wide variety of ways. There is also a great deal of discussion about a spiritual ascension occurring on earth now which is lifting us collectively to higher dimensions of consciousness.

There has also been vocal support for the rights of marginalized groups, such as those who do not express traditional or stereotypical gender archetypes, as well as others who face systemic discrimination, and this has been widely expressed in popular culture. There have been many calls for more fair, just, and idealistic economic, political, and social justice systems.

There has also been a growing movement, particularly amongst the young, for environmental protection and justice which often conflicts with entrenched and unsustainable, if not archaic, financial and corporate agendas.

On the negative side, we have seen a deluge of misinformation, disinformation, propaganda, lies, mass deception, and absurd conspiracy theories. There have been reactionary forces who overtly reject evidence, facts, experts, expertise, science, history and electoral outcomes, and have engaged in things like widespread book banning, and they seem to revel in belligerent ignorance. Social media platforms and some so-called news outlets and networks, particularly on the right of the political spectrum, have contributed to the spread of blatant misinformation on an unprecedented scale.

Brexit, the election of Donald Trump, and the completely unjustifiable and pointless invasion of Ukraine are notable examples of consequences. There have been one crisis after another of deadly substance abuse and addiction to which many have succumbed. We have had a global pandemic, think confinement, lockdowns, and hidden enemies, and we have become aware of a relentless onslaught of psy-op disinformation campaigns clandestinely sponsored by adversarial countries. Think foreign lands, secrets, and again, hidden enemies, surreptitiously messing with our minds and undermining liberal democracies.

There have also been epic and almost biblical floods around the world, along with unprecedented and widespread severe weather events, too numerous to recount. Mass migration has been a theme with millions of people being displaced from their traditional homelands and seeking shelter in foreign lands. I could go on and on, but consider how these themes relate to Neptune, the 12th house, and Pisces.

Of course, there has also been the shocking and deeply disturbing rise of far-right nationalism, authoritarianism, fascism, racism, xenophobia, and misogyny, as well as extreme wealth disparity and the rise of plutocrats, but I think that more related to Pluto’s transit of Capricorn. See my other episodes on that. There has also been the ongoing USA-Pluto return, which I have discussed as well.

So what might we expect when ethereal Neptune transits Aries commencing in 2025 through 2039? Here’s where things get even more complicated.

As I have previously stated, the beginning of Aries is a very potent and important point in the zodiac, as it marks the beginning. Zero degrees of Aries is arguably the most important of all 360 degrees. However, Neptune and Mars represent energies that are about as different as we can get in astrology. Pisces is the end, and Aries is the beginning. Neptune is introspective, or yin, Mars is extroverted, or yang. Neptune is water, Mars is fire. If this sounds polarizing, if not confusing, it is because it is.

During the period of 2025 through 2039, Neptune transiting Aries will be in a challenging aspect to all of the other cardinal signs. It will be in square to Capricorn and Cancer while opposing Libra. Briefly, Capricorn, ruled by Saturn, represents leaders, authorities, and authoritative institutions. Cancer, ruled by the Moon, represents feminine nurturing and the literal home environment. In mundane astrology, it represents the state of nations with respect to the populace. In other words, are people happy or not? Libra, ruled by Venus, represents diplomacy, balance, relationships, open enemies, mostly long-term relationships such as marriage, but also business partnerships.

I can tell you very sincerely that the period of when Neptune squared my own sun was one of the most difficult transits I have ever experienced. I was shocked even though I was expecting it. Neptune, being non-material, has a way of dissolving things. I slept my way through that period and struggled to survive as things just seemed to slip through my fingers. It was like I was in a fog and I could not seem to materialize anything during that roughly two-year period. On the contrary, it was all about loss and letting go. That period profoundly altered my life.

In fact, at times I was absolutely convinced that I was the victim of powerful psychic and energetic attacks by dark forces, and even had that confirmed by multiple highly qualified individuals. I experienced many vivid, dark and frightening nightmares. I was psychically wide open and almost defenseless. I eventually began practicing Kundalini yoga, I studied with a mystery school, and I took a deep dive into crystals. Much of this effort was aimed at defending myself and reinforcing myself energetically, which I was intensely determined to do, but it also elevated me.

All of what I just described is very archetypically 12th house, is it not?

But back to the main topic. What follows is very important. I hope you are paying attention.

While studying this transit of Neptune, I noticed the following aspect that, to me, seems truly remarkable and must be exceedingly rare. On February 20th of 2026, Saturn, the Lord of Karma, will exactly conjunct Neptune at 0 degrees, 45 minutes and 10 seconds of Aries. Yes, these two major planets will meet at the very first degree of Aries. Incredible.

Neptune Saturn conjunction
Neptune in Aries Challenging Aspects

These two planets normally conjoin around every 36 years or so, but the odds of this happening at the very first degree of Aries must be miniscule. Due to retrogrades, they will perform an extraordinary dance around the very beginning of Aries from May of 2025 through March of 2026. I’m getting strong chills here.

That will truly be something to behold, no doubt. If we consider a wider 15 degree orb of highly activated contact for such alignments, based on my calculations the active period for the beginning of this new and historically potent Saturn-Neptune cycle would span March of 2024 through April of 2027. Again, that is the three-year period in which these two planets will be within 15 degrees apart, to reiterate March of 2024 through April of 2027, with an exact conjunction on February 20th of 2026.

Anyone with planets or points on the cardinal axis at Late Pisces, Early Aries, Late Gemini, Early Cancer, Late Virgo, Early Libra, Late Sagittarius, Early Capricorn will want to be paying attention to this.

Now, let’s recall the timing of the American Civil War I mentioned earlier, which erupted exactly as Neptune entered Aries in April of 1861. It was a war over slavery, one of the most egregious, vile, and dark practices known to humanity. It was a war for what is virtuous, just, and ethical, that all should be treated equally, Neptune combined with the force and conviction of Mars, the ruler of Aries.

Had the outcome of that Civil War differed, the world could be dramatically different than it is now. We have not attained perfection by any means, we are still very much collectively a work in progress, but that was a very significant turning point in human history. The many who saved the world from the utter horrors of fascism in World War II also come to mind. Many people sacrificed their lives for a truly just and noble cause, and we should be profoundly grateful for their courage of conviction. If spiritual warriors exist, that term would certainly apply to them.

I will now list some of the expressions of Neptune in Aries, again 2025 through 2039, that come to mind. Some of this is based on study, some is extrapolation, some is intuitive, some of this is predictable based on current trends, some is not. Always trust your own intuition and judgment before making any significant decisions. I am factoring in the influence of the Saturn-Neptune conjunction I have previously described. Apply the following at your own discretion.

So here goes:

  1. A crisis of masculinity and masculine expression. Clashes, perhaps actual violent conflicts or incidents, between progressive and reactionary conservative, fascistic or authoritarian forces. Increasing polarization between rational and possibly excessively reductionist world views and theological, religious or ideological world views. A clash of world views.
  2. The collapse or severe undermining of institutions that have existed for many generations. Think banking, finance, other governing bodies and authorities.
  3. A crisis of housing and home. Housing may be impermanent and unreliable, likely due to climate and environmental problems. Geographic areas affected include those that were historically considered reliable and predictable. Cost of housing may continue to be a major problem. Formerly safe areas threatened by sea level rise or repeated flooding causing migration and housing supply shortages in other, safer regions. Refugee camps.
  4. Issues pertaining to the family structure and nurturing. Long held norms change. Much confusion in this area. Fewer women willing to mother.
  5. Failures of diplomacy and international relations. Old conventions no longer apply.
  6. Political polarization, left moving left, right moving right, becoming further entrenched.
  7. Conflicts that turn out not to be based on anything tangible, real or even rational, when viewed in hindsight, motivated by illusions, fabricated evidence, distortions, illegitimate narratives, clashing paradigms, ideologies or confused communications that cannot be bridged easily.
  8. A crisis involving male fertility or infertility, declining birth rates for reasons that may not be clearly understood, perhaps related to environmental contamination or contagions.
  9. Androgynous styles, fashions and aesthetics, think David Bowie and boy George, glam, romanticized and idealized masculinity.
  10. A crisis of faith for the Church and religions, being forced to address past misdeeds, scandals and blatant hypocrisy, tax-free status threatened due to excessive partisan political activism. Increasingly polarized climatic swings and weather events.
  11. Severe drought and wildfires, fire, followed by intermittent deluges of historic floods and rain, water. Weakened crops, crop failures due to extreme or unusual weather patterns.
  12. Significant challenges with pollination and seeding, perhaps due to reduced insect populations. invasive species and/or contagions harming natural ecosystems and wildlife.
  13. Traditional male roles dissolving, as were typically expressed in many trades. Traditional employment being displaced by technology, artificial intelligence, automation, roboticization, etc. Another aspect of the crisis for masculinity. a lot of those traditional jobs may become obsolete. We will also be moving into a more intellectual framework, especially with Pluto transiting Aquarius.
  14. Implications for military and warfare, troops displaced by technology such as robotics, AI, and automation, many soldiers could become redundant or obsolete.
  15. A surprising collapse of hegemonies or monopolies in many areas, including nations and large corporations that may have dominated for many generations previously.
  16. Unrest amongst the populace who struggle to deal with dissolving traditional ways of living in socio-economic conditions, especially for those who are rigid, inflexible or overly attached to dying, dogmatic and materialistic paradigms.
  17. A widespread aggressive contagion or disease which produces high fever and spreads quickly.
  18. Virtual reality being widely deployed and accessible, resulting in more people being detached from reality and increasingly isolated from human interaction.
  19. Traditional roles between males and females stressed and undermined. More fluidity results.
  20. Water supplies continue depleting, drying up and becoming unreliable. Mechanizations, such as desalinization, deployed to produce potable water in some regions.
  21. Mountain glaciers that previously supplied water to many regions disappear.
  22. Accelerated sea level rise and land-based glacial ice mass reduction, exceeding even some of our worst projections.

The positive side of all this, from my perspective, is that humanity is indeed ascending. We are at the cusp of the end of the Age of Pisces and the beginning of the Age of Aquarius. This is a dramatic change.

As I have expressed on my channel before, we are going through a significant paradigm shift and the old collective paradigm is collapsing. This and other potent astrological events, such as the imminent transit of Pluto through Aquarius through 2044, seem to be clearly aligned with that narrative. Absolutely.

In order to make this transition we must let go of all of the abstract, arbitrary, and defunct structures and belief systems that have at once defined and sheltered, but at the same time severely limited, humanity and our potential.

We are now like the proverbial snake shedding its skin. We can no longer fit within the rigid confines and constructs that have restricted us for over two thousand years.

I know this process can be challenging and uncomfortable. I know it can be difficult. I know it can even be scary at times. But on the other side is freedom and expanse. A lighter, higher vibrational and more rewarding way of being. A way of being that more accurately reflects our true higher and innate inner nature.

The easiest way to get through this transition is to not be in resistance to it. Resistance is exhausting to maintain, especially when the forces at play are so cosmic.

Over time, extreme resistance may wear people down so much that they simply opt to leave. in other words, escape. Instead, rather, I encourage you to be a vehicle for change and evolution.

This is a rare point in human history. You chose to incarnate here now, and it is a privilege many souls desired, but only a select few have been granted. Embrace and unfold your inner truth, limitless power and light.

Episode transcript:

Greetings all!

Welcome to Aquarian Diary.

I’m your host, John Irving. It is July 6th, 2023.

On January 17th of 2023, yes, almost six months ago, it’s hard to believe that’s how things roll around here, but on January 17th I got this very strange download. It just came to me extremely clearly.

Now, don’t jump to conclusions, but the download was 2028, 40 percent, and I stopped, and I’m like, 2028, 40 percent what? That was all I got. I’m not like some of the psychics who can have conversations with their guides.

So I believe that was in the evening, and then the next day I started looking at the astrology, and I saw something in 2028 that really jumped out at me, as I hadn’t looked at it before. Sure enough, there is a truly remarkable alignment in June of 2028, and I was kind of like, wow, this is big.

One of the reasons I didn’t do an episode on this is because I intended to fully look into this in a great deal of detail. That’s one of my problems.

I’m a bit of a perfectionist, and I can go down rabbit holes when I start looking into things. And it becomes like a huge task because, you know, you could, for example, look at all the natal charts for the various big players out there, the big countries and things, and see what’s happening, and analyze it. And you know, like that’s like an insane amount of work, which I just don’t have that kind of time, or haven’t.

And of course, there’s also a lot of other things going on all the time, every day almost, that are really big, that need to be talked about as well. So it’s overwhelming.

And then I just recently did a big long episode with Scott Becker, and I did a conversation with Irish Granny Tarot (links in the description) and I did another little episode that I haven’t published yet, and blah, blah, blah.

Around that time, not long after I first got the download, I did discuss it with one person though, and I sent them the chart. She knows who she is.

But then this whole 2028 thing has been on my mind again, at the forefront of my mind for a few weeks, and I’ve just been kind of like, I got to get that done, I got to get that done.

So what I’m going to do is I’m going to give you the charts and the dates, and I will briefly describe what’s going on astrologically.

One of the things about astrology that irks me, not so much astrology, but astrologers, is if you go back in time and you actually listen to other people’s forecasts, where they state that specific things are going to happen in such and such a time frame, there’s a very low success rate from my perspective.

Astrology can indicate themes, for sure, like it’s incredibly useful and important, but it’s very hard to predict specific events in the future. And so I kind of refrain from doing that. I will describe themes and situations and general conditions, but how it’s going to play out specifically is very, very difficult to predict.

And like I said, that’s borne out by the evidence if you go back and listen to other people’s predictions. So I just refrain from doing that.

And another thing is when people talk about astrology, when they’re looking back at history, is they will often cherry pick certain things like, “Okay, this is an example of that aspect at that time.”

But the truth is that the world is very big and there are events of all kinds happening everywhere all the time. So it’s really easy to go back in time and say, “Oh, that event is linked with this transit.” They’re not talking about the events that contradict that. That’s to me kind of cherry picking.

Yes, there are certain historical events that affect the whole world, like world wars and things like that, or a depression, or the invention of some technology that completely changes the future. Those are really big deals. But we have to be careful, like I said, that we’re not cherry picking.

This aspect will be in tight orb for some time. But around June 24th of 2028, Pluto in Aquarius, and I’ve done episodes on that topic alone, it’s a big deal, squares Saturn and Chiron in Taurus, around seven or eight degrees of Taurus.

And at the same time, there is a triple conjunction in Gemini in very close orb, Uranus, Mercury, and Mars.

And there’s one other point here, which is that the North Node is at 23 degrees of Capricorn. And the very significant Saturn-Pluto conjunction, which occurred on January 12th of 2020, was at just under 23 degrees of Capricorn.

So the North Node, which is this faded kind of karmic point, is basically conjunct where the Pluto and Saturn conjunction occurred in 2020.

So we have Pluto squaring a conjunction of Saturn and Chiron in Taurus, a triple conjunction of Uranus, Mercury, and Mars in Gemini at 11 and a half degrees. And the North Node is at the same point as the Saturn-Pluto conjunction of January 2020.

That is an awful lot of major synchronicity. The odds of all of these things occurring at the same time must be minuscule.

The June 24, 2028 Saturn square Pluto, and Gemini stellium, North Node at 23 degrees Capricorn, astrology chart.

Above graphic: The June 24, 2028 Saturn square Pluto, and Gemini stellium, North Node at 23 degrees Capricorn, astrology chart.

In astrology, really significant events tend to occur when we have multiple outer planet activity, typically in heavy aspect, occurring at the same time. And here we have a whole slew of things happening simultaneously, any one of which would be challenging.

Saturn and Chiron transiting Taurus on a mundane level, Taurus rules finances, money, property, investments, and banking.

Typically when Saturn transits Taurus, because Saturn is restricting and limiting and karmic, that period of time tends to mark challenging economic or financial circumstances for humanity, because the energy of Taurus is being restricted.

But there’s also that energy of Chiron there and Chiron deals with wounding, usually in our formative years and often dealing with past lives. So there’s wounding and restriction and limitation occurring in the financial sector.

Now Pluto square Saturn is a really challenging aspect. These are very heavy hitting, powerful and intense energies at cross purposes with each other. Squares are no joke, especially when they involve heavy hitters like this.

And the conjunction of Saturn and Pluto, which occurred in 2020, was the beginning of this kind of dark cycle. You know, Pluto deals with power, power which can go either way, it can be abused, power control, domination, and things like that.

The Jan 12, 2020 Saturn, Pluto, Sun, Mercury conjunction in Capricorn and Capricorn stellium astrology chart.

Above graphic: The Jan 12, 2020 Saturn, Pluto, Sun, Mercury conjunction in Capricorn and Capricorn stellium astrology chart.

And because of the involvement of Chiron, it’s an especially challenging aspect.

Now we’re dealing with Pluto and Saturn and in that equation, Pluto is more of the heavy hitter because it’s the more distant planet, its orbit is much slower than Saturn’s. If there’s an argument, Pluto tends to have its way.

But nonetheless, there will be consequences for humanity. It’s like there’s a conflict between our social needs collectively, this very egalitarian energy of Aquarius and pragmatic reality having to do with the economic system and finances. You know, that alone is a big deal.

And the square of Pluto and Saturn relates to what occurred in 2020 when the cycle began. This is the first real challenge.

Whatever came up at that time, and let’s face it, a lot has occurred since 2020, and we know the kinds of topics. This square brings all of that stuff back into our awareness and we need to look at how we have handled things between then and 2028.

And then we have this extremely unpredictable energy of Uranus, which, you know, in times can actually create trauma because it can be so shocking. It can completely destabilize things and introduce things into the mix that are, like I said, completely unpredictable and surprising. It breaks up structures and we have that kind of energy, which is, Uranus is incredibly intense and very sharp and focused in time, combined with Mars and Mercury. Mars, we know, the god of war, and Mercury, the mind and communication, the intellect, the messenger.

So, that triple conjunction right there is like, you know, you think Gemini, you think words and communication, or at the very least, some very shocking and dramatic news or information that maybe pertains to conflict or the military or accidents or acts of violence, Mars. And I mean really shocking, really surprising and even traumatic.

Another thing I thought about was Taiwan, because I believe China even stated that they want reunification by 2028.

But it’s happening at the same time as this Pluto-Saturn square, with the North Node being conjunct, the Pluto-Saturn conjunction point from 2020.

The major incident that changed the world, I have to be very careful what words I use so as not to trigger the platform to penalize me or censor me. But let’s just say, a lot of people had to stay home for a significant amount of time and, you know, wear something on their face and stuff like that. And no, I’m not recording this from Beijing or Moscow or Florida.

Anyway, that disease that started in China really started coming to our attention in very early 2020. The Pluto-Saturn conjunction was in January of 2020. So that seems to be a clue, because the square is linked to that.

Like I said, we can’t predict exactly what’s going to happen, but I can fairly safely say that it will involve economics and finances, and maybe even the Earth, because Taurus is an Earth sign. And Taurus also governs a lot of aspects of nature and the harvest and agriculture.

So I don’t know if it’s environmental. I don’t know if it’s economic. I don’t know if it represents conflict, like war or something, or a widespread contagious disease.

Neptune is in Aries at this point. Aries is a fire sign, and Neptune in the past has been associated with diseases, large-scale ones. But it’s been in Aries for a few years by this point.

The chart I’m using here, I just set the Ascendant to be Aries, so it would have a natural house system, just to make it easier to look at. So you can kind of ignore the Midheaven and the Ascendant, because they will vary depending on where you are.

And I wouldn’t give too much attention to the other more personal planets, because they move and change signs very quickly. It’s more the outer planets and their involvement with the inner planets that I think we should focus on here.

Like I said, I’m not going to speculate on exactly how this manifests, because I just know from years of experience that that is probably a fool’s errand. But you know, the big major issue we had in recent years where people had to stay home, a lot of them, 2020, where Pluto and Saturn conjuncted in Capricorn, the square could relate to those kinds of events.

And the 40% figure I mentioned that came to me in my download, I don’t know what that pertains to. It could be economic, it could have something to do with the population, and I could just be completely wrong about that. But I have to be honest, it literally came through that figure, 40%.

We do and are facing extremely challenging environmental issues. And by then, I think by 2028, they will probably be much worse.

So, you know, one of the ways that civilization might get through that is to lessen its footprint. I’m not saying that’s going to happen, but it would help us cope with those kinds of things.

I don’t want that to happen at all, by any means. I don’t think we need a disorderly situation. I would prefer that we do things orderly.

There’s also the timeline split, which I have talked about here before. And according to Dolores Cannon, that process was to occur in the early to mid-2020s. 2028 would probably be at the end of that cycle.

And finally, one other point which has been on my mind now for a few weeks, which is that if there was a very major event that was going to occur on Earth, that was outside of our control, as individuals at least, would Spirit tell us about that?

I suspect not, because what purpose would that serve? It would only create a lot of stress and anxiety for no reason. And I know for a fact that they don’t tell us everything. I know that from personal experience. Some things are on a need-to-know basis only. So, I’m not convinced that we would have a lot of warning about certain things.

Some people might, just before an event, like I had some experiences at the very beginning of 2020 that only made sense to me after things unfolded more, that I was actually in a lot of resistance to. But nonetheless, in hindsight, I’m glad it worked out that way. But I wasn’t told explicitly what was going to happen, if you understand what I’m getting at.

So, as we get closer to that time, some more information might start to come out. But I don’t think the general public is going to be given a lot of details about something like this, if it proves to be something significant. And I think that’s just something we have to accept, that we’re not supposed to know everything, especially if it doesn’t serve a beneficial purpose.

Needless to say, if you have significant points or planets at, say, 7, 8, 9 degrees of Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo, or Taurus, or, say, 10, 11, 12 of Gemini, Virgo, Sag, or Pisces, you’ll want to pay attention to this. Obviously, it’s not for 5 years, but these are pretty intense energies.

And if you’re Aquarius, Scorpio, Leo, or Taurus, you’re going to be getting this square of Pluto and Saturn hitting those points at the same time.

Or, like I said, if you have planets or points at 10, 11, 12 Gemini, Virgo, Sag, or Pisces, you’re going to get that triple conjunction.

It’s probably more the square that I’d be most concerned about.

But Uranus-Mars, you have to be careful with, because Mars can manifest as accidents, injuries, acts of violence, those kinds of things. And Mars moves pretty fast, so it would only be for a few days, typically.

But Pluto and Saturn are going to be in square for a while.

That’s just a quick look at it, without me having to spend days and days and days working on this, producing graphics and charts, and getting into all the minutiae of all the aspects and details.

Anybody who studies astrology can look at this in more depth, compare it to natal charts of countries, and so forth.

But it’s been on my to-do list for 6 months. So there you go, I’ll leave it there. I’ll leave it for you to speculate about, and think about, and ponder.

On July 3rd, I had a very nice and interesting, long conversation with the fabulous Irish Granny Tarot. I’ll put a link in the description to that as well, in case you haven’t already listened to that.

Thank you very much, Helen, for having me on your excellent channel, and for all of the wonderful work you have done, on behalf of our community. Very important.
